For all the learning and ideas are useless

Gratitude, doorway
out of criticism
out of slavery
away from circular self-chasing

Greatness is grateful
though humble the package
or unseen the persona
it stands tall among complainers

Goodness is greatful
that way, and others
variations on 'I love you'
sometimes are 'thank you'

Gifted is grateful
as gifts come to us
payed forward or created
expressed gratitude, a returning tide

Doubters when grateful
for something definite
before and behind them
revive the faith of heartfelt feeling

Depressives when grateful
in the black tar of emotion
stretch hands into strands of humor
to join the webwork of light

Seethers when grateful
change their faces, demeanors
and find gifts of new friends
suddenly appear

I am grateful today there is non-judgment in the world
if you see it

I am grateful today for weariness relieved by higher thoughts
by nature's green bounty

I am grateful today each we sparks of the All-In-All
are still all one
if we want to be

Philosophical, deep in thought. We are all one, if we want to be. But we are one in any case, whether we outwardly want that or not, not so? Outwardly, since deep within, our wills are unified in divinity, and in the ultimate conclusion of all processes and things.

Just wrote this. Changed incense today for meditation and the effect was instantaneous and profound. Calmer the rest of the day.
http://gonesh.com/p-115-classic-collection-no-6-incense.aspx

Neurosis of nothing
spinning with no center
the garden, now tumbleweeds through my mind.
Never had answers
hands shaking empty
fruitless grasping at prayers gone by.
Where are the gurus
the masters, the healers
where is the sanity I had yesterday?
Stimulate, sedate
struggle at sleep
awaken early for the pointlessness procession.
Tealess in tyranny
a tableless asylum
I dream a den full of fragrant vapors.
The residents are there
laughter in the musk air
incense of Green Gaia's ripe fruit.
Mother and supporter
comforter in season
the harvest will come before winter.
Medicine was seeded there
grew round the sanitorium
smell it, but not reach it until you break out.
Medicine is knowing
it is seeing and waiting
it is each thing in its own time and place.
Fragrance of healing
I choose for myself
I breathe, I change, I wait, I waft free.

The Art of Forgetting

It’s often the eyes that feel it first,
transferring pressures to the temples,
going soft, lids descending like
sunsets on the visible world.
The hands show it worst,
that grasping fatigue in the knuckles,
going stiff in half fists unwilling
to ever be fully unfurled.

So exhausting to keep everything.

The art is in the breathing
like you really mean it, like
you feel oxygen’s renewal
available on demand.
The art is in the laughter
that tosses aside all cares,
all pictures of the cruel,
like useless grains of sand.

The hardest work is letting go of anything.

Enshrouding shoulds with maybes,
letting fingers be feathers for a while
and fly free of what we’ve made.

Opening our eyes like babies
agape at this moment’s own arrangement
the innate, the primal dancing in parade.
