Hello everyone This is my first post and I hope it's in the right place...

I was flipping through the channels last night and again on the Discovery Channel were shows about the Pyramids in Egypt. It seems that lately one cannot turn on the Discovery or (sometimes) the History or Travel channels without seeing a show on pyramids. (I always type that "pyraminds" then have to go back to correct it -- I wonder if that's significant of anything more than my bad typing skills? ) This is just fine by me as I find it all quite fascinating and I am also pleased that these shows are starting to recognize that there are pyramids in other places than that one area of Egypt. But as I was watching the show last night my eyes fell upon one of my copies of "Star Signs" and I wondered what our Linda would think about this sudden interest in the pyramids?

So, tonight I did a search and low and behold! A group of Linda lovers! I've bearly had time to skim the threads and I feel at home already. Please don't think I'm flaky (I am, but please don't think it ) but this site gives off a very peaceful, serene "vibe". It's not just the pretty purple color - lots of sites use purple and they don't "feel" like this one.

So, what is your opinion? Does this big interest in pyramids mean anything or is Discovery just tired of doing sinking ships and this is just what they landed on? If there is a genuine growing interest, what do you think Linda would think of it?

Hugs to you all and thanks for taking the time to read all this (I know I can be a "bit" verbose ).

Hello Shamrock! Welcome to Lindaland!!
By the way, I love your name. In school, I belonged to St. Patrick's House and on the day of our House Feast, we'd wear shamrocks cut out of paper as badges.
Hmm, lots of interest in the pyramids of late. I noticed that too.

Hi, Shamrock!

Welcome

As for your pyramid inquiry.. well I don't know what Linda thought of the pyramids as I am eagerly awaiting my first book by her in the mail!! I'm not sure if she mentions them.. I'm sure everyone else on the board knows! Especially Randall.

But I agree they are quite popular on TV! There's always something on the Discovery Channel about them *or Egypt and Pharoahs* I usually end up watching them because it's all terribly interesting but most of the time the shows leave me wanting more. I like books because they can shove so much more information in them for me to soak up!

hello today ..open your eyes ..the snow is falling just like leaves ..aquarian warriors rebuild the ship ..mr rainbow is gone ..hello my love ..here's to your heart ..unfold the lillies in the deep ..the season's over, the shores are sealed ..now ashen roses rain on the fields ..innocent dreamers, look what you've done ..now it's time for the phoenix to fly

WOW! Thank you all. I am overwhelmed by the welcome

Aquamoon, thanks. I'm Irish, my initials are SHM, and my birthday is Feb 27th. Ergo, "SHaMrock227" Quite a few hoops to arrive at a username I know

Amber, I know that Linda had a great deal of interest in the pyramids. Especially the Pyramid of Giza. But, I'm kinda wondering if she would be happy with all this interest. Are "we", as the general public and the media, dancing around her "Twelfth Night Secrets"? Are we on the verge of great discovery and enlightenment? Or is all the interest disturbing and possibly destroying something ancient and cosmic that the general public wants to know about (you know, like on "In Search Of...") but doesn't really want to "Know" about?

Also, Amber, enjoy the book I know you will

Shamrock perhaps our dancing around the twelfth night secrets is an honour of it and u know what honouring something does, it gives it greater power and it multiplies it's energy so in honouring Linda's work the word is spead and those who will initiate any discoveries will be those who r initiates.
And all u have to do to be an initiate is to initiate it by ordination.
I understand the media hype is something that brings greater awareness but also greater distraction so those who KNOW will be doing while those who GROW will be learning.

Welcome,shamrock!
I think all that pyramid attention is supposed to have significance for you-maybe it means you're supposed to investigate the pyramids and learn more about ancient Egypt. If you're interested in the more interesting side of the pyramids, there's a very good book called Heaven's Mirror, by Graham Hancock.Check it out if you haven't already.
And by the way, verbosity is a great quality

Welcome Shamrock! I just read an interesting book about ancient Egypt and the pyramids. It seems they were far more advanced than we had ever imagined.

You mentioned Twelth Night Secrets, and I thought you might find this string interesting: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000677.html

OK. Wow. I just downloaded the first part of the Lost Linda Tape and what does she keep mentioning? um. The Pyramid. I think you are right on the button QueenofSheeba, I don't think I need Linda to hit me with a sledgehammer (although, she's really had to come close this time ). I already have a few books to get me started that I haven't had time for before. But, HiHo HiHo it's off to the bookstore I go (I'll use any excuse to buy books) Thanks for the suggestion, by the way. I've put it on my "books to buy" list and will check it out as soon as I can. Anyone else who has some suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the link Hopeful. Those Lexi's were very interesting. Very thought provoking .

(edited to add)...
Speaking of the Tape, I also have the full set of her Astrology tapes. Doesn't Linda have the most beautiful voice? Very peaceful and calming, almost mysterious in a way....

I have a suggestion - believe little of what you see on the television. Discovery and National Geographic specials ARE very interesting, and there is some good information in them, but they are also intentional diversions from the truth.

There are those in powerful places who continue to hide what they know to be truths, and they do so through the mainstream media.

Keep reading books! You will find truth there!

I agree with you Ra. I hardly ever watch TV anymore. It can be such a huge time eater and I don't like anyone to censor what I am able to watch - but that is exactly what they do.

What books are your favorites? I really enjoy Edgar Cayce, but I also read as much as I can about Old Religions such as paganism, wiccans and celts.

I have about 50 Cayce books! I also have all of his readings and correspondence on cd-rom. I think I am a fan.

I have so many favorites! But Cayce, A.A. Bailey, Osho, and Sitchen top the list of authors.

I'm not a big TV watcher either. It's just me and the kitten, so I like to have it on for "background" noise, makes me feel less "alone". I noticed it more because I have the "TV Guide" channel on alot and I see what's on (garbage, mostly).

And, Ra, I agree completely, I take everything I see on TV, in the newspapers, and magazines (anything Mass Media, really) with a grain of salt. Even if they are telling fact, they put their own spin on the facts to try to make us lean towards their agenda.

(That's really kind of my policy with everything.... I trust my own gut feeling. That's why I love our Linda so much. So much of what she wrote rang true with Me).

As far as books, well I'm a really big reader and a fan of used book stores so I have tons of books on all different subjects. Stonehenge, Atlantis, Camelot (King Arthur, etc), The Pyramids, The Bermuda Triangle, Wicca, Tarot, Astrology, Alchemy, some books by Cayce, too many different to remember.

Besides Linda's writings, my favorite subjects are King Arthur (both the legends and the proof that he really existed), Atlantis, Stonehenge, Astrology - on the "less esoteric" end of things, I'm really into science (especially physics) and computers. But, I'm really open to anything and would be glad to check out anything the knowflakes might recommend. I'm pretty much bred with the ol' hacker mentality -- Get as much information as possible crammed in to this brain o' mine

{edited to add}
And, what the heck is wrong with me today? Mythology! I forgot Mythology! I have been very big into Greek Mythology since I was a little child and for the past few years I have been expanding my horizons into other mythologies as well. So far, mostly Celtic and Norse - I have American Indian mythology scheduled for next on my list, then work my way into Asia.

Cayce is amazing. Absolutely! I have skimmed through Sitchin but haven't actually read any of his work in detail. Ra - do you recommend? Osho I've read. I'm not familiar with Bailey. I"ll have to take a look.

Shamrock - I love reading about Avalon and King Arthur also. Are you willing to share some of your thoughts? That is what lead me toward the wiccan/pagan literature.

Mythology has also always intrigued me - as far back as the fifth grade. I believe it and the other things you've mentioned - atlantis, stonehenge - are all connected - as is everyone and everything.

Hopeful, just try and stop me from talking about the once and future King.

Since I can go on for like a million pages, is there anywhere in particular you'd like to start? (maybe we should start a new thread for this one). However, I truly believe in King Arthur and Merlin and the rest. I don't, however, agree with ANY of the King Arthur movies. I adore most of them for the artistic pieces they are and watch them all on a regular basis, but none of them have the story straight. I like Merlin the best for artistry and casting and I like Excalibur the most for the closest to the truth (of the movies) story, but it had terrible casting (nothing wrong with the actors themselves, they were wonderful and they did a fabulous job -- but the looks and mannerisms were all off). The other ones, well, I adore First Knight and with Richard Gere, Julia Ormond, and Sean Connery how could you go wrong? It was a good story, but if we are searching for truth here - puhleeez! First of all Arthur was not that old, second of all -- oh, forget it there's so many holes in that story I could walk through them . {I started to write about the books, but I bagged it - I'm long winded enough already } And, BTW, I believe I was there (Camelot) in a past life. No one important, not Guinevere or anything, but someone close enough to know what was going on. Probably a handmaiden or a servent of some sort. It's just kind of bizarre how I "know" what is right and what is made up. I remember watching Excalibur for the first time with a bunch of my friends and I perked up and said "this is such crap, Arthur looked nothing like that!" Of course, my friends were all "shut up. what were you there or something?" (I would never have lived it down if I said "as a matter of fact, I was" )

Jakie, I have never heard of the Nazca Lines before. I quickly skimmed your first link and it looks very interesting. What were your impressions of the area?

shamrock - have you read "Mists of Avalon?" I loved the book. It is much better than the movie (in my opinion). THere is a long string somewhere here about it. I also read the Guinevere trilogy - which doesn't paint Arthur or Merlin in the best light but is still enjoyable. I just saw "First Knight" recently - as you said, it was entertaining but not completely accurate.

I think it's a great idea to start a string somewhere about Avalon/King Arthur. Why don't you start us off?

I have Mists of Avalon, and the prequel The Forest House. They are on my "to read" list. Sounds like I should bump them up the list a bit

I also have The Fall of Atlantis by her, has anyone read that one?

Hopeful, about Alice Bailey - from some of our first conversations, I knew you would eventually show interest in this path, and I have wanted to mention it many times. Consciously, you do not - as you do not even know who she is. What she teaches is at the very root of all of Linda's teachings. But her name always comes into my head when I think about your future.

Your gravitation towards paganism is good, but I have no doubt that Wiccan rituals just will not suit you. You will search for the core of these beliefs and systems, and you will (and do) understand that all is based upon energy and Mind. You will realize that ritual and ceremony is unnecessary for you, for the most part, and that mind is all that matters when manipulation of these forces is desired. Whoa! Where am I going?! I think I will stop my little speech here.

A Treatise On White Magic - by A.A.B.

I think you will find yourself in these pages. I did.

No, Ra, please don't stop there. Keep going, keep going. I went down the Wiccan Path for a way. But, the "ritual" part kept getting in my way. I mentioned this to several people and told them that I felt I got better results sans ritual and most of the trappings. I can focus on my goal instead of "ok now one step to the north and then say - damn, where's the book? - ok, now sprinkle the salt". They all insisted that the ritual was key and that I would never achieve my goals without following "proper" ritual. It was even suggested to me that I would be putting myself in danger if I didn't follow the ritual to the letter. That never sounded right to me - but they all insisted and, being new to the path, I took the advice of those with more experience. I eventually left the path....

It's refreshing to hear (well, read) someone who knows confirm what I had suspected all along....

(boy, am I ever glad that Linda led me here )
