BR,

The darkest hour is before the dawn.

I've thought about suicide many times, but at the same time I always thought about the suffering it would cause others so I chose not to do it.

I am an emotional person experiencing extreme lows at times, but life has shown me that this never lasts forever. There will be good times again.

Nam,

How do we help stop suffering in the world? I think mainly by spreading awareness and helping people to wake up. I'm hoping with all my heart that people will finally wake up to the pedophile gangs in Morocco where poor Maddy was seen. The only thing that has protected the evil of pedophilia in such places is denial and apathy. People need to get fired up more in order to be motivated to do something.

If only we could feel and understand all each others feelings....then EMPATHY and LOVE would be law in itself.

Posted by BlueMeenee on my "meaning of life" thread:

quote:
The Starfish

While walking along a beach, a man saw in the distance what looked like a boy dancing.
He was encouraged by the outward expression of someone dancing to the new day on the beach, and he approached the young man. As he got closer, he realized that the young man was actually running, leaning down, picking something up and then gently throwing it far into the ocean.

As he came closer, he saw thousands of starfish the tide had thrown onto the beach. Unable to return to the ocean during low tide, the starfish were dying. He observed the young man picking up the starfish one by one and throwing them back.

After watching the seemingly futile effort, the observer said to the young man, "There must be thousands of starfish on this beach. It would be impossible for you to get to all of them. There are simply too many. You can't possibly save enough to make a difference."

The young man smiled as he continued to pick up another starfish and toss it back into the ocean.

"It made a difference to that one," he replied.

The older man shook his head at the impossible optimism of the young man, and then turned away and walked home. That night, he sat for a long time thinking of the young man, and determined that the young man was really affecting the world and taking action to make a difference. Something that the older man would like to do. That night he slept fitfully. In the morning, he awoke, went down to the beach and found the young man again. Then together, they went along the beach shore tossing starfish back into the ocean.

quote:
So much frustration is simply a result of trying to think our way through problems instead of feeling our way to what we desire. How we feel determines our vibration, so until we change the way we feel, our minds will keep going in circles, digging up the same old grievances, glitches and gripes. If we shift our hearts open, however, light pours in, and then we can see our circumstances from a higher perspective.

NAM >>>>But how?

If its happening to our knowledge, we must report it to the authorities in charge. In America there are animal rights group, child welfare organizations etc.... See I can't go LTT's area which I believe is in UK is it? And talk to those people, can I? But if such a thing happened in US, I would try to reach right people here.

You are right, it does mean to act rather than be passive over that issue.

BlueRoamer - I was talking of pain caused to animals who offer themselves to others. Have you seen a lion making a kill, somehow it knows that it has to puncture the veins and then it waits for the animal to die. It won't start eating it immediately. I assume the chickens/beefs etc in USA are put to sleep in a dignified way before being sold to consumers. In any case, I make sure I say a little prayer before eating my food.

There is some pain when a human dies. But I can't generalize. There are people who have died in peace. Won't go much deep here as its esoteric topic.
Suicide should be the last resort. I don't recommend it really.

Human body also undergoes coma to ease pain during dying.

I and Fayte had a interesting conversation somewhere here. Perhaps you must hit the search engine for "death". If it does not address your question then please let me know.
