Because, there has to be a 'drive', and a desire to balance karma! And, you also need lifetimes, so to stop the process of more lifetimes you need to steadily make another choice. that is: to know in your heart that you will and can, remain here ...then the cycle ends IP: Logged

I say "like love" because I explain to my children that love is circular, and therefore eternal. So, they have adopted the phrase, "I love you like a circle" I've also read (I can't remember where) that there are 13 levels that we go through in the evelution of our souls. In the 13th and final level we are re-absorbed into the God Unit. Anyone ever hear of this theory? IP: Logged

I think it's more than just balancing karma ... lots of people have a relatively clean slate in a new life but they remain unaware. So they build more karmic connections, good or bad, that need to be dealt with. I suppose once you reach a level of awareness where you and your Higher S-elf are in constant communion then you can decide to move to a higher level. You might stay here for a while to help the rest of us along our ways, too, but it would be a fully conscious choice either way. I imagine a spiral moving up as getting closer to God/dess or the source or whatever term you prefer, while moving down is moving away. (We're kind of stuck on plateau here in this dimension, I think, because of our lack of awareness, connection ... I mean, there really are no circles in our reality, just spheres and spirals, because circles are 2 dimensional.) Eventually, the movement up is so infinitesimally small that you can never approach the source enough to be lost in it ... but, like numbers, the possibilities of unity are endless. Is this what is meant my 12 steps in the ladder of Journey towards God? How do you decide then which sign is first and which is last during incarnation?
