Good/Bad, it's all mental.

A father and his son owned a farm. They did not have many animals but they own one horse. One day the horse ran away. "How terrible, what bad luck," said the neighbours.
"Good luck, bad luck, who knows?" replied the farmer.

Several weeks later the horse returned, bringing with him four wild mares.

"What marvelous luck," said the neighbours.
"Good luck, bad luck, who knows?" Said the farmer.
The son began to learn to ride the wild horses, but one day he was thrown and broke his leg.
"What bad luck," said the neighbours.
"Good luck, bad luck, who knows?" Replied the farmer.

The next week the army came to the village to take all the young men to war. The farmer's son was still disabled with his broken leg so he was spared. Good luck, bad luck, who knows?

Oh man, I need to be more like the farmer! I always like when things that seem like bad luck turn into really good luck in the future. *wonders about all of her seemingly bad luck as of late*

Yes, I know some-one who lost their job and wife in the one year!
It seemed like all doors where slammed shut for a happier future. Little did he know, around the corner was a magickal door, with the greenest grass on the other side.

Oooo I found this tonight! It's a Chinese proverb:

"A good fortune may forbode a bad luck, which may in turn disguise a good fortune."

You know, a side point in that story is that the farmer is creating his future. By being indifferent he is moving first one way, then the other. Were he eternally optiistic, maybe all would be good luck

Yes that's a wise aspect your brought up dean. Because if you say good/bad who cares? Well then, it could go this way or that way, hey?
But we have control over our luck, we do, we do, we do!

...runs over to the spiritual protection thread...

"Since everything is but an apparition, perfect in being what it is, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter."

Yes, and then there's the sinchronicity thread that ties this all together

We are one, but we are many

I mean, all's related because all is, or something like that
