That is the funniest thing I ever read. I wonder if a Guru would be interested in your bodily functions to that extent. Hmmmmmm.... I think he would be more interested in how you feed your heart.

I know we are suppose to be good, and do good, and compassion and all that good stuff...does that count not feeding your puppy? Wait, just let me explain. My mom has spoiled our dog witless, always feeding him OUR food (mine, to be exact!) and now he's refused to eat his own nice old nutritional dry dog food--so I think we might have to stop feeding him our food, and wait till he gets hungry enough to devour his.
and another thing--most of you had younger siblings before, right? Maybe you were one of them, but I have two--and er...sometimes, its hard to be good when they are around calling you a loser (seriously, it cuts to the deep and taking your homework so you get in trouble) who can be all good and saintly at such a moment? Right?

I have a question--can you ever overwork your Higher Self too much? I mean, I think of my higher self as someone who is me, but also greater, like an angel. They are, aren't they? And sometimes, I feel kind of bad for ordaining so many things, and having them happen, and not being able to do anything in return. I think I need help, but, I don't know. I would thank it sometimes, usually, but--is just thanking them enough? Is there something we can do to make them...happy, I suppose?
I mean, with my friends, I've taken to writing occasional little notes, things like "I love you" or "Keep your chin up" whenever I have the time or feel that we need it. I mean, isn't it a lovely feeling when you open your backpack, or sit down to lunch, and sees a small note written by someone you love (they better love me... ) I mean, that always makes me smile. It does help, doesn't it? Or am I just being silly? I really truly do want to help things, the poor, the old, but--sometimes, there's no time, or not enough money. And sometimes, I just don't know what to do to help make things better. Oh dear, so sorry for rambling of on all of you.

Dear Gia,

Good question. But my point was, we have to starve so that our higher self kicks in. The body is like a layer, the more thick it is the more we have to dig to find the treasure that is buried deep inside.

We have to starve our senses, and go beyond it deep inside the heart like you mentioned.
Once you master it, then it does not matter whether you are a glutton or good eater as your heart is pure anyways.

Fasting is a type of spiritual exercise. You know what I mean.

I am telling you, it works atleast it supposed to. The hindus, catholics, jews, muslims do it (fast).

Theres definitely truth in it. After all majority cant be fools

Theres a warning, if you are pregnant or sich you must not fast.

You can choose one of weekdays and fast once every week. I chose friday most of them time.

The severity of the fast is very subjective.
Some drink juices/tea/coffee. Some are strict. For some religion fasting begins on sunset.

Its because first it was darkness and then light came. So during darkness, we have to pray and prepare our soul till light arrives.

I am not sure when it must end. I usually fast 24 hour period.

Hope that helps. Again the idea is to pray and tell God that you are waiting for him/her to show you the way.

Gretings...

Silly mortals....

What makes you think that you will recognize a GURU as such if and when she does appear. It could as easily be that pest that bothers you at work, as the Angel that appears to be placed in your Path.

In Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialogue, God states: "I have sent you nothing but Angels."

I think we get carried away with the idea that a GURU or Teacher will appear in a puff of smoke and accompanied by a peal of thunder. More likely, you will find a new "friend" that talks about knitting, for example, and teaches you all about the concept of "tension".

Occasionally you may meet one that will TELL you that is their purpose in your life.. more often it will not be so blatant.

I think if we all tried to learn as much as we could about Who We Really Are, we would remember that we really have access to the information we need Right Now!

Blessed Be...

A
