I believe that some things happen for a reason, but we also have free will. I believe in a higher power I choose to call God. I believe that God has a plan & a plan B. When we use our free will, and mess up the plan he/she will make the best of the situation.Years ago I went to take my kids to day care. I was driving down the road when a 'still, small voice' said turn; I thought no I like this route. Again the voice said turn. I didn't. I went through the light & was broadsided by a van at 50 mph. I was knocked unconscious. My car spun out & landed in a parking lot. This is what I like to call a GMC (God Made Coincidence)- An ambulance was driving along, heard the crash, and saw us in his rear view mirror. When we got to the hospital the plastic surgeon happened to be there from Houston that day to put over 200 stitches in my 2 year old daughters face on the right side. She is an adult now, and you can hardly tell that anything ever happened. Gods' plan for me was to get to the babysitter safely, but my free will caused unnesessary pain. The back up plan was in place-thankfully. Now I know to listen! So I did learn something that day. ------------------ "When the student is ready the teacher will appear" IP: Logged |

Absolutely! We may not see the reason for some time...maybe years...maybe not at all. I do believe very deeply that all things happen for a reason, regardless of whether we ever do come to understand it.Love IP: Logged |

Kim~ it's difficult, yet so important, to learn to trust that little voice, isn't it? I'm glad you and your daughter were okay.BlueRoamer~ Can you elaborate? lotusheartone~ do you always reap what you sow? do people always get what they deserve, and deserve what they get? when children are born into horrible circumstances...war, extreme poverty and sickness...is there a good 'reason' behind it? Did their soul want/need this experience? Or is that just something people tell themselves, to feel a little less lost and confused. I can't help but wonder if the "everything happens for a reason" line is just used to comfort. Even if it's not true. But I really do not know. What do you think? IP: Logged |

God's Universal Laws are immutable.. there is noOne to blame, but yourSelf..for anything that is..or happens in your Life.. that is the simple truth..and I don't think it's to make things easier..but to understand that every life you live is connected..through all your incarnations. ... Thank you all for replying.....You know... I just keep thinking about this all the time lately. Sometimes the strangest 'coincidences' seem to happen....and it's hard to tell what they really mean, if anything at all. When I notice something like that happening, I usually think, "oh, you're reading into it too much." But maybe not? IP: Logged |

ask a question of God..and it shall be answered..just do not have expectations on how you will receive the answer..for it can come in any way shape or form..and you will just know..it will click. ... IP: Logged |

Hi lotus I don't have a concrete belief in past lives or a higher power, so it's hard for me to look at things the same way you do. I am open to possibilities, though. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! IP: Logged |

Gooberzlostlovefound..you're welcome..and I understand..about different belief's..you have to figure it out on your own..and come to your own conclusions..that is the only way.. I was raised in a strict catholic family.. I respect everyOne's belief's. ...

Sure everything happens for a reason. When you were born the major choices were provided to you. You are just reliving the choices that you made. It does not mean we must believe in predestiny. Imagine a arrow shot from the bow string. Its very difficult to change the pace and direction of that arrow. But it is not impossible. IP: Logged |
