Nothing like being gone for a few days and I have all this reading to do!!!lol! I skimmed as much as possible so if I leave anything out, it's not because I'm avoiding it.HSC the problem with analyzing each of my lines is that it's just one line without the rest of the explanation. Yes, maybe Jesus wasn't rich or maybe he was; I've heard different views also. My point is HOW he treated a variety of people. He was skilled in his treatment of others. He held this, his principles and beliefs to the upmost importance and like all prophets - they take the heat because they tick off the status quo by telling their truth. They "hold their own" as I said they do not avoid situations and back off.(sit under a tree, smoke pot, and say it's all and illusion.) They are RESPONSible. My guess is that Jesus knew long long before his death that he would be potentially killed. With 6.6 billion people on the planet, I will continue to steer clear of self-proclaimed gurus that use highly unskilled or anti-social behavior. There are plenty of others around many of which teach me on a daily basis. I once worked for a woman who acted like a bad "***" teenage boy. her behavior was unacceptable in any circumstance. A co-worker who now also works at my current place of employment has reflected with me on how she was a good teacher. Our teacher pop up in our life and sometimes they are not the sweet supportive type, so when I consciously choose a teacher, I want someone who is strong, open-minded, together, emotionally balanced, intelligent, caring, works out problems, and is a good communicator among other traits. The bad ones show up anyway. As to your question "Will I ever be secure enough in what I think I know..." No because I don't think thinking has anything to do with it. As long as your stuck in rational thought (the ego), you will never be satisfied. I don't think it will take any effort either because I don't think it has anything with "work." Doing (or fixing) has nothing to do with being and being comes from the core of who we are. I think compassion is key and seeing others' "Christ or Buddah" nature. Yes TINK is correct humility and surrendering is important. I strongly strongly recommend reading NEW EARTH by Tolle. Maybe even go to a Unity or Religious Science church. Again I think I am not getting my point across what is skilled and unskilled behavior and I don't think I ever will be able to fully explain this. Skilled behavior is a state of consciousness and has nothing to do with our accomplishments, our safety in a worldly sence. A person such as Christ stands up to their beliefs and does not let the status quo rule them. If the beliefs are so strong the antithesis will result and in the case of Christ it was death. some egos cannot handle truth and the only way they know (unskilled) is to kill off the competition. Plenty of people were killed for being Jewish. They were being just who they were and some egos couldn't handle it. You will never please everyone. Every day we compromise ourselves by taking the safe path. We fear losing our jobs, our 401K, our homes, etc. could we be like Christ and stand up to popular darknesses let alone our families and people we see everyday? "Have fun with your spiritual journey and know that it's all meaningless. Means that we place meaning and value onto the journey. We make it either good or bad right or wrong. It is what it is, so I think it's better to make it fun rather than drag yourself through it. (Boy can't write a line here without it being analyzed!) I'm starting to wonder what your beliefs are in God. Yes some things may be rotten in Denmark" but God has nothing to do with it! it's not an illusion like some will tell you. It's the ego gone amuck. Oneruledbymars yes I am here for a reason but I'm not to sure reincarnation has anything to do with it. I agree with the idea that there is no black board in the sky that say that I Kat am to do the following:... HSC,I will give you info for my chart, but I'm curious as to what sign people think I am, so first guess and then I'll post. What's my Sun, moon, rising, or any other planet for bonus points. HSC quote: An old soul certainly can recognize the existence of a spiritual hierarchy, and honestly acknowledge his or her own place in that spectrum, without identifying with that place from an egoistic position.
I love what you said at the beginning. And I think the difference between the ego and the person understanding their soul is that the ego will want to tell others about it whereas the soul just emanates those wise and loving qualities without it needing to be stated. IP: Logged |

PeaceAngel, Thanks. I think that is true, for the most part...
The nature of a wise soul is to shed light where there is ignorance, so, if the subject arises, and mistaken claims are made, I believe a wise person will not hesitate to speak up, and to speak the truth, regardless of what others may speculate regarding his or her motives. It is not that he/she will claim a distinction for him/herself, but, he/she will not be hesitant to assert the existence of such distinctions. And if someone specifically asks if they are an old soul, I think they may respond with some witty evasion, or, may very candidly describe their place in the hierarchy.

Kat, quote:
HSC the problem with analyzing each of my lines is that it's just one line without the rest of the explanation.
Of course. But this is how communication proceeds, yes? I cannot intuit your entire point of view from one or two remarks, but I can put into words what I seem to be hearing, and with that raw material, you can get an idea of how i see it, and you can respond by clarifying and expanding on your p.o.v. Certainly, there are going to be assumptions and misunderstandings. That is just par for the course, and shouldn't pose more than a speedbump. My word-choices may appear insensitive and may provoke you, simply because I am coming from a contrary perspective. And your word-choices may equally offend me inadvertently. If we refuse to get hung-up on these minor difficulties, and lose patience with each other, we can actually turn them to advantage. When two points of view are so widely divergent, there is potential for much miscommunication, but also for a lot of learning, too, I believe.
quote: Yes, maybe Jesus wasn't rich or maybe he was; I've heard different views also. My point is HOW he treated a variety of people. He was skilled in his treatment of others. He held this, his principles and beliefs to the upmost importance and like all prophets - they take the heat because they tick off the status quo by telling their truth. My guess is that Jesus knew long long before his death that he would be potentially killed.
I agree, he had a way with words and could suggest things, in abstract language, which could not otherwise be said. This was the skill he most obviously exhibited, as I see it. Jesus went around and spoke to people. That is what he did. He never shrank from a debate; he welcomed analysis of his ideas, and constantly subjected the beliefs of others to scrutiny. He openned dialogues on allegedly settled questions of dogma. Many of his retorts were terse, ironic, and provocative, and awakened people's desire to stone him, not love him. Was this skillful? You be the judge. In any case, he got a lot of flack from people who thought this was a waste of time, and that he should find more meaningful work (like carpentry). Regardless, the work that he did was the work of a preacher, and a self-proclaimed preacher, at that; not sanctioned by the authorities. For this, he was reviled, scourged, and crucified. I'm sure he sat under trees and relaxed sometimes, reflecting on meaninglessness and not taking things too seriously. But there is no knowing whether or not he smoked pot, like the many followers of Shiva seen all over India (canabis being the sacred plant of that fascinating deity), although there is sufficient evidence to prove that smoking this plant opens people's minds, relaxes them, and suggests metaphysical concerns. Yes, it also tends to make people lazy, when overused, but, if all you did was go around and talk to people, and occasionally lift a finger, or lay on hands, to heal, then, I dont suppose it would get in the way of that. It is not the demon that propagandists have taught many to curse. Personally, I interpret the demonization of this herb as close-mindedness. The "potheads" I know are some of the most compassionate, open-minded, considerate, and easy-going people I've met. They dont get all stressed out over spilling coffee grinds, and seem to realize how petty and small such irritances are. They tend to be nonmaterialistic, uninterested in accumualting things. They may not be contributing the most good to society, but they may, in the final analysis, be among those doing the least harm.
quote:
With 6.6 billion people on the planet, I will continue to steer clear of self-proclaimed gurus that use highly unskilled or anti-social behavior.
Yet this is precisely how Christ appeared to his contemporaries; a self-proclaimed prophet, speaking against the social order, in a way that they would have deemed unskilled. He was anti-social in the sense of rejecting the establishment, yet he created his own little society of outlaws, and that small group ultimately had a profound impact. quote:
There are plenty of others around many of which teach me on a daily basis. I once worked for a woman who acted like a bad "***" teenage boy. her behavior was unacceptable in any circumstance. A co-worker who now also works at my current place of employment has reflected with me on how she was a good teacher. The bad ones show up anyway.
Well said. I think you have the right idea, and I encourage you to keep with it, and find those teachers you most admire. I just hesitate to make rigid distinctions between teachers. What I deem "strong, open-minded, together, emotionally balanced, intelligent, caring, etc." may not be those things, and I may overlook these traits where they do exist. There is a saying, "A jack of all virtues is a master of none,". Many who exhibit mastery in a specific field are extremely limited. Their specialization creates an echo-chamber, blinding them to other ways of seeing. There is certainly something to be said for this single-mindedness, but there is also something to be said for "the jack". For another thing, not everyone is ready to be taught by a Buddha. We may want to learn from the Buddha, but God will send us what we need. And, lastly, I think the ultimate teacher is God, and God has a sense of humor in the teachers "He" sends us. Yoda, from Star Wars, for instance, appeared to be a fool, before he revealed himself to be a jedi master. I think God sometimes conceals himself in people this way, and the teaching is often a testing of our preconceptions. Even a master has his blind-spots, and we may not be on guard against them, simply because he is a master in some way, and we are dazzled by his charisma. Conversely, we may overlook the wisdom and insight of one who is not a master. [cont.] IP: Logged |

Forgive me, if my analyzing causes you some impatience. I like to chew my food, and not swallow it whole. I am just trying to really listen to you closely. That can be challenging and disconcerting at times, but, you may discover, its really not such a fault after all. I do think that what you are saying here is well articulated, and I dont see anything to pick at or turn over. I do have something to add, though, if you'll permit me... The things is, we have all these spiritual cliches on the tips of our tongues, and it is easy enough to see which one comes next, but, when we look farther afield, we see there is always more to say; every truth is just a half-truth and must be balanced by its corollary. So, you say meaningless, and I say meaningful, and the truth appears between us, while we seem to disagree. The Buddha said, "If the string is too tight it will break, but, if it is too loose, it will not play," and this is really the essence of the middle way. We can go back and forth, trading spiritual cliches, but, at some moment, it dawns on us that the truth is a balancing act. As I like to say, "Truth is meandering. Sure-footed is light-footed". We can take refuge nowhere, but, keep the energy moving. Just when a certain perception becomes true, it also becomes false. So, we must not take things too seriously, and, yet, we must not imagine that nothing makes any difference. The power is not entirely with us, nor is it all in God's hands; rather, the real power is found in the collaboration between the two. Both legs must move in tandem, or one will drag behind the other. Then, both legs will be forgotten, and there will only be "walking".

Oh dear... Kat... I dont know how to tell you this, so I'm just gonna break the news quickly... Its a damn shame we have a 15yr gap between us and relatively incompatible philosophies, because, from the looks of it, I'd say we were soulmates, and then some: me... you
Sun trine Moon 1° Dsc conjunct Sun 2° Dsc conjunct North Node 0° Venus trine Chiron 1° Venus trine Moon 1° Venus trine Mercury 0° Venus trine Sun 3° Venus conjunct Neptune 3° Sun trine Mercury 2° Sun trine Chiron 1° Sun conjunct Neptune 1° Asc trine Mars 0° Jupiter conjunct Asc 1° Uranus trine Moon 2° Uranus trine Sun 2° Uranus trine Mercury 1° Vertex trine Vertex 0° Asc conjunct Eros 1° Mercury Quincunx Venus 0° Mars Quincunx Venus 1° Just to name a few. So, yeah... I've honestly never seen synastry like this. My Stellium in Scorpio completes a Grand Trine with your Sun and Moon. And there are so many "ideal" aspects here its a little spooky. If not for the age gap, I would totally be trying to "mack" you right now, sight unseen. I even think my girlfriend would understand, lol. Try to show up around the same time as me next time we reincarnate, okay? Geez. cruel cruel fate, HSC

Hmm interesting.Too bad I have a spectacular Cancerian bosom! Besides,it's impossible that we are soulmates because I have already determined that Keanu Reeves is my soulmate. Unfortunately we are one year apart and I'm sure he wants biological kids. So life is cruel. You can go ahead and reincarnate, but only the universal energy in me will reincarnate; I will just die. He He I haven't seen your chart, but I think soulmates have a great venus mars connection by being either trine or conjunct. I've also found that several couples have a conjunct moon. Males should go by their venus to describe female partners and females should go by their mars. Don't you just love my grand trine. Actually it's a grand kite - Pluto Virgo is running the show. I've found it's interesting when someone links up to my kite/grand trine. There are several conjunctions involved, but mainly it's my mercury, neptune, moon/chiron. I have alot (alot) of creativity and some people can tap into it (in harmony or try to abuse it for their own gain) especially water and earth signs that create trines and or oppositions. Scorpio is usually good providing they aren't too power hungry and work me to death. Caps have been the most exploitative. and no your girlfiend wouldn't understand! IP: Logged |

So, basically, what you're saying is that, in addition to missing out on that fine Cancerian "bosom", I have the dishonor of losing to Keanu - I'm made of cork - Reeves? Well, at least if you ever have to abandon ship, you can ride Keanu into shore. But if it doesnt work out with him on account of the whole kids-thing, dont worry too much about it; you dont want no corky kids with Keanu anyway. Anyway, kids are overrated. And people should adopt. No, no! YOU will reincarnate, bosoms and all. With a little helpful creative visualization... But, yeah, i think you have a soul, and this personality/ego is a tiny part of who you are. But the other part of who you are is not entirely "other" than this. Your individual soul comes through in every incarnation, and the forms it takes change only gradually. My Mars Inconjuncts your Venus, that's something. My Venus is in Scorpio, and your Moon is in the 8th opposite Pluto. Your Mars is in Virgo, and my Ascendant Ruler is in Virgo, sextile my Sun. Your Mars is strongly aspected by your Moon, and I have a 1st house Moon. Also, your Moon in the 8th wants me, bad. And your 7th house is in my 1st house; your Ascendant in my 7th (conjunct Jupiter)... Your Kite is tops! I have a Yod (from Pluto and Neptune to my IC) that makes a Boomerang to my stellium on the Midheaven (Sun/Venus/MC/Uranus). I have no idea what it means, lol. "There are several conjunctions involved, but mainly it's my mercury, neptune, moon/chiron." I am all over those! But also, my Ascendant (20' Cap) is trining your Mars exactly, and opposing your Sun by 2'. Only thing is, Kat, it looks like you would probably leave my Moon out in the cold. What do you mean, people try to tap into your creativity? I'm more like a Pisces than anything, I think. How are you with Pisces? You let me worry about the girlfriend.

Dishonor?? What do you mean made of cork? He's a hottie and you should see our synastry - conjunction junction, trines, some opposition. He seems as though he'd be really sweet. Check it out online. prrrr! meeeeeeeeowwwYes your moon is a bit cold to begin with. He he. i just found your chart and boy do you have alot of Sag. It is all very clear to me now!!! People (especially bosses) who link up to my grand kite tap into my creativity because I have lots of it and if they are not "skilled" in their intentions they try to use it to make themselves look good or they try to keep it down because they are intimidated by what I'm capable of doing. I had a Cap boss/co-worker that gave me the cr_p jobs and kept the good ones for himself. He s_ucked at designing photo sets, so he'd have me do the drawings and then he'd do the photo shoot (fun part) only to make himslef look good. I was also underpaid. Caps are the worst. I have one Scorp boss and overall he's really good. He knows how to give me work that I'd shine at, but I work like a horse. At least he is fair and pretty "skilled" at his behavior. He's the best so far.I now have a Taurus boss (my 10th house) so I wondering how that will turn out. Pisces? I do get along well with most Piscean people as long as they are not off in irrational la la land. You should run your chart through astro.com to check out the powers of the planets.I think your more like a Sag! Your sun is in Sag house along with a couple of other planets. you also have strong Cap influence. Your Aqua moon has an Aries influence. I can see why we would also (do) butt heads. IP: Logged |
