Quinnie I shall e-mail you about it.DfD Thank you. I am glad you can see the reasons for my renewed hesitancy is justified...again. ------------------ The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. ~William Penn, Some Fruits of Solitude, 1693 A show of envy is an insult to oneself. ~Yevgeny Alexandrovich Yevtushenko

well hopefully some people will be beginning to learn that what they say has consequences even if not from that big fist in the sky...but their remarks reflect more on them than on you or any other target...XXIP: Logged |

katatonic quote: but their remarks reflect more on them than on you or any other target
Indeed it does, and my sig lines reflect such of their kind, what is often their true motivation to treat others unkindly. Yes indeed DfD. As so my sig line reflects one of the causes of some folks' rudeness and uncalled for combativeness. quote: A show of envy is an insult to oneself. ~Yevgeny Alexandrovich Yevtushenko
However it is still not a pleasant environment in which to seriously discuss things and or share views freely...never knowing when the next personal insult, or segue away from the topic at hand, just to be obnoxious and cause a disruption will occur...again. Or an out and out hijacking of a thread, ruining it for others. I have had threads many were enjoying, until they were rudely spammed. Few would want to return to those trashed/highjacked threads for fear of being the next target, or because they would have to wade through too many disruptive off topic posts.

i have had a similar problem on online discussion groups. trying to get answers to things that were hard to explain but important to me...remarks implying that my story had salacious value that shouldn't be made public, in fact on one board i tangled with the resident troll to lead him away from someone who was seriously frustrated by repeated attacks, only to land myself in a weeks-long vendetta which forced me to change my name! so i do not put my really personal stuff out there usually. which may be to the detriment of others who could learn from my experiences, but its a consequence of public communications i guess...IP: Logged |

katatonic Thank you for sharing that. It seems we have experienced much the same. Why do people feel the need to hijack threads...and spam the boards, and go off topic to throw personal insults, and ruin it for people who are here for spiritual and philosophical matters? I left LL for 1/2 a year once, and a few shorter times since because of rude, unkind, bigoted, attention at all costs kind of people...and so forth. A few have been banned or ran off to other forum sites. Many nice folks have left or rarely post because of the trouble makers. You said: quote: i do not put my really personal stuff out there usually. which may be to the detriment of others who could learn from my experiences, but its a consequence of public communications i guess...
Too often when I have shared my personal experiences, I have been accused of trying to garner pity, attention, or even trying to one up on others. If anyone shares a thing I too have experienced....why do a few get so angry and rude when I share too? Fortunately to my knowledge only one of the 7 of those people are still regularly at LL, and at least two banned. My time is precious, and so I do not post as much as before because there are people who want to waste my time by making trouble for me and or for others...I then feel compelled to defend. OK rant over for now. ------------------ A show of envy is an insult to oneself. ~Yevgeny Alexandrovich Yevtushenko The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves. ~William Penn, Some Fruits of Solitude, 1693

I am totally enjoying this discussion. i know im a lil late but i remember what you said about your experience with angels a while back LEXX. That was very sad indeed. I tried to do work with angels by way of doreen virtue books but i lost interest. but i wanted to hear what you guys had to say about the people of atlantis but i was too late to read your post before you had taken it down again. i always wondered why you did that but now i know.and i had numerous other remarks to say about stuff that was brought up in this discussion. like the stuff about tesla. have you seen the prestige? he gets a spot of fame in that movie. i knew it was him when i first saw it at the movie. for sum odd reason, I am very interested in him. it may be because of his name. but i always remember that scene in the movie where there are light bulbs in the ground that are not connected to any wires or anything. I love that movie! and about the amphibian-type people you spoke of. do they look like the creature from the hell boy movies? its the bookworm that he works with that i am referring to. but these were just random things that popped up while i was reading.
