One of the most nagging doubts is regarding the "Nephilim", who mated with the daughters of Man and produced Hybrids/Giants. The Bible is extremely silent about them after the initial report in Genesis 6.How did the Nephilim come to Earth? Who do the Nephilim worship? No mention is made of any ritual practice by them. Surely they should have been an example of piety to Humanity? What are their genetic origins? Who authorized them to marry human women after being overcome with Lust even though they are "sons of God" as per Genesis 6? Why were the original Nephilim left unpunished for the sin of sex without solemnized marriages, why were they called heroes and "men of reknown" ? The "Chosen" Children of Israel got scared on seeing the Nephilim in Canaan and refused to fight them! The same God who is alleged to have sent the 10 Plagues to an Egyptian Pharoah DID NOTHING to the Cannanite Nephilim. Why the partiality? This creates doubt about the Omnipotence of the OT God as opposed to the Spiritual Father of Jesus Christ who is Eternal. The Nephilim do not believe in Jesus as Savior yet roam around the Universe as heroes, marrying beautiful humans and producing tall demonic hybrids. Imho, This is the biggest philosophical challenge faced by Abrahamic Faiths. How can the "Sons of God" produce entities like the giants of Anak? Who is the "God" of the Old Testament whose Sons have a DNA/Genetic Code compatible with Humanity and yet creates demonic offspring who appear to have no morals? Can the Father of the Nephilim be the same God who created Quasars and Pulsars and trillions of atomic particles expanding in the Universe?
These nagging philosophical doubts do not belittle the Bible in any way, in fact I cannot praise the Bible enough for having the courage to note down the evidence of Extra Terrestrials playing God on Earth. But I would love to hear the views of all Believing Christians on the origin and on the partiality meted out to the Nephilim. As per the Bible, Man is not the number one creation, it is the Nephilim. ------------------ Astrology Articles New Services and short readings IP: Logged |

Wonderful questions, IQ. I have heard listened to some people who specialize in the Nephilim. I can't really wrap my mind around the Nepilim. Was Goliath one? My current thinking is that the Bible does not answer the kinds of questions you have on the Nephilm. The Bible is the only book I think is Divine, so the only one I go to with questions I want an answer to that I believe comes from God. The Bible is silent on certain subjects, or if not silent, does not explain to our satisfaction. The Bible says that we see through a glass darkly, while we are on the earth. Not everything can be understood. This may be one subject that falls into that category. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Ami, could you tone down that kind of wording, please? While what I think that the message you had in mind/intended to send is that most people accept historical Jesus and that you feel that this is common knowledge, the part about the "cave" (which, correct me if I'm wrong, stems from the saying "living in a cave" in reference to people out of touch with common knowledge or popular culture--that's how I perceived what you intended to say), I also think that it's important that you maybe realize that someone else may not immediately recognize it that way. I can see how someone would perceive that comment as saying that they are "stupid". I'm not asking you to not express your opinion or anything--just that you maybe ask yourself, "how else could this be understood/misunderstood? is this the best wording?" when it comes to things like that. How you word something can make a huge difference. I'm not asking you to change what you think--just how it is worded (sometimes). At other times, you express yourself in ways that are more connecting. So, basically, I'm just asking that you be a bit more careful in how you say things. Also, (and this is not solely aimed at you; I think that it's a good practice in general), I just want to point out that sometimes, it's not really clear that someone is joking. Intonation is very hard to discern online/outside of face-to-face communication. In person, you can observe body language and inflection, but you cannot do that online. So, if someone doesn't realize that you're joking/doesn't get that, please be patient. I think that online interaction does lend itself to those kinds of misunderstandings. It has happened to me in "real life", outside of LL, with friends, so I speak from personal experience. For that reason, it may be better to indicate in some way that you're kidding, to use language that makes this more clear, to clarify things, or to refrain from joking about things if others might not pick up your intentions. And this goes for others, not just you (i.e., what I said about joking). I've seen it happen on other threads, too. On top of that, sometimes personal differences come into play. What one person feels is appropriate may seem very inappropriate to another due to personality differences, cultural differences, or other reasons. So, if someone doesn't find a joke funny, it may be best to refrain from joking on that topic, or at least with that person about that topic. IP: Logged |

IQ, many years ago, I devoured Zecharia Sitchin works on the Nephilim. First as a Christian, I was rather taken back by such blasphemy. As I matured, I contemplated it, reread and found it not only supported a loving God but increased my Faith in his Essence and Mercy. Our bodies were created by others but God breathed the Spirit into us to make his Divine Creations in a physical body. I have an Islamic Friend who believes the Nephilim are jinn. Any thoughts on this? ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

Absolutely I recently made an attempt at humor and it didn`t come across as I intended. Lei_Kuei was understanding and accepted my explaination . It didn`t esculate because she called me on it, I explained as I was guilty of ironic humor not comming across as such. ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

Dear Juni, The Nephilim appear to be on a much higher pay grade than the Jinn. The Jinn are more "Elemental" Spirit types [Made of Fire as per Quran]. Please note, the Entity ordering the Hebrews to attack/kill DID not touch the Nephilim on his own. 10 Plagues for a mortal Pharoah but not even a thunderbolt for the Anak Giants. Not even the application of the Ark of the Covenant to blitz them? Something very fishy about this. It is like being afraid to attack a blood relative for fear of retaliation of powerful, angry uncles. That is the feeling I get. And Jesus makes so much sense when he is 100% Non Violent, just like Buddha. Exhorting 100% peace to get off the Karmic Wheel and Ascend to the Real God, the Father of All Souls. IP: Logged |

Thank you IQ. I wish I had her reasoning here as she made it sound plausable. quote: And Jesus makes so much sense when he is 100% Non Violent, just like Buddha. Exhorting 100% peace to get off the Karmic Wheel and Ascend to the Real God, the Father of All Souls

Sitchin is great, I don't think I ever would have gotten interested in the Bible only for his observations. I still have his Earth chronicles books as coasters for my peanut butter jars that litter my desk maha lol Also, I agree as regards the joke issues, things get overblown online!
