Thank you leaping:
I think that is one of the nice things about Lindaland, people don't seem as judgmental. So can you walk on your hands?

I loved the muscle picture you removed!
I used to be able to stand on my head and hands too. Keep up the good work!
You look fabulous!
PS.LOL! You do not look butch to me.
If you could grow a beard and mustache like I do, and squat 600 pounds like I could in my pre disabled days, well then I'd say you looked butch.
In my opinion you are very feminine and in great shape!

Lexx you are the kindest person. I think it's my virgo rising sign that likes to improve things, I've corrected 4 misspelled words already. And I saw that pic and thought that's the photo everyone will remember me by, I felt embarrassed, I only do that for the mirror when I'm goofin'.

You could squat 600lbs!!!!!!I'm impressed *eyes wide!*

Well I think you look amazingly trim and firm, and lady, at the age of 43 you look and are waaaaaaay more fit than most women younger than you!
Keep up the exercise and weights, and you will not end up with osteoporosis, nor waggy saggy arms and thighs!
So if anyone tells you looking like you do is too muscular, laugh at them because in ten years you will still look and feel great whilst they will look like crap!
I have a long way to get back to anything resembling my firm and fit days. I know I will not be as I was, way too much permanent damage, but I am trying to look and feel better. Yep, 600 pounds at squat, 120 one arm curls, 88 on one wrist, and did sit-ups whilst hanging by my knees with a 90 pound weight clutched to my chest to increase resistance. OK, enough about me and my former body.
Again...you look fantastic!
PS. I do not give compliments unless I really mean them.

I love keeping fit but it tires me out so easily, I wish I had more energy to do more but my two babies limit that! lol

oh ! Gooober, did you know how it made me ache inside
and how deeply I understood ?

it gave me a sharp loving-pain
when you tried so hard to stop the rain

Oh! How I love these words that Linda wrote, I think they are so beautiful. This quote describes the two sides of me soooo well.

It is a beautiful day to day where I live. There is a barely there mist and the weather is no longer cold but comfortable. It is a dutch day weather wise. Makes me long for a deisel truck to drive by so I could smell Holland too. (funny but true, I like the smell of deisel polution!)

I've decided that I'm going to write about some things that are important to me, about some changes occuring in my life. I don't want to air my dirty laundry, but I'll scrubb it until it's just slightly soiled before hanging it out for all the world to read. (This would irritate hubby, he does his duty of playing out my saturn in the 7th house very well)

But hey, at some point I get to say it's my life and I get to be the me I want to be. Right? (saturn whispers in my ear "don't over do it, be guarded"............1st house pluto/uranus whispers "behave freely, be yourself"............Funny enough it is ALWAYS the moon in libra that has the last word "but then will they still like you?"

I’m having a mid-life crisis
(Not that I plan on only living to 86!)

“Baaaaahhhhhhh!!! “Head spinning exorcist syle, arms waving wildly as I run circles around the room. “Waaaaaa!!”

Drops to floor, fists pounding, feet kicking, “I want to be young again! I want to be single again! Aaaaaaaa!!!”
Flipping to my backside, feet stomping, arms flaying wildly “I want my own way, and I want it now!! Uuugghhhhh!”

Slowly sitting up, pulling knees under chin, quietly rubbing my shins (tantrums always backfire in some way). “43 is stupid.”(I don’t overly analyze when I’m throwing a fit, I like to keep it simple so I can focus my energy on psychotic body movements.)

(more later)

Be VERY careful about what you wish or even pray for.
I have seen far too often such wishes take the easiest and unfortunately, macabre turn.
Oh yes, you can get EXACTLY what you wish/pray for, but not as you expected.
For example:
You said:
“I want to be young again!"
Well you could die and be reincarnated. Wham! Young again!
You said:
"I want to be single again!"
You could lose your family.....
and yes, you would be single again.
You said:
“I want my own way, and I want it now!!"
Do you even know what your way is? And would you actually want it and want it now?

Leaping: Thanks, I needed that. It's been picking up speed, today was just one of those that it was more felt.

Quinnie: Oh ya, I'm an old pro with the make-up

Good point Lexx, that's been part of this problem. I have been wishing for things I know darn well I don't really want. I'm behaving in ways I don't normally behave. My marriage is upside down, everything is crazy....

good girl....
quote:

Would you kindly elaborate on that?
OK...to continue...
You are 43.
A few factors you may wish to consider.
1. You feel the grass may be greener elsewhere and that you are missing out on something(s).
Now look around, are you really missing out on things as much as you feel you are?
2. Ask yourself, can you see yourself in a far time, still with your husband?
Especially after the children have left the "nest".
If not, then ponder on that or seriously, see a marriage counselor.
3. If this feeling is getting more intense and irritatingly frustrating, then ponder these factors:
A. Get your hormones tested even.
You could be having your sexual peak now.
The average is about 36, but everyone is different and you are thin, so your hormones may be off a bit.
B. Peri-menopause.
Yes, this can begin when one is in their 40s.
And if you are on the pill, your desires, urges, and moods can be affected.
4. If there are no physical factors, then please seek counseling if it becomes too much for you to deal with.
I hate to see you ruin your life by leaping without meaning to in an impulsive manic moment, or during a resigned depressed time.
I hope this all made sense.

I will elaborate, but first:

Portrait of a Mid-Life Crisis

I was going out to the post office, feeling great about that dutch weather I wrote of earlier, and I catch a glimpse of my self in the mirror. (Now mind you when I got this jacket I ran from mirror to mirror checking it out, I like.) And it hit me.....how cliche, black leather jacket, sporty car....I laughed at myself....I got embarrassed....I had my son take my picture so you all would see what I was refering to...I totally see the humor of it....but I can also step back and ask myself what is going on?? Why am I "trying so hard"?..ya know what I mean?

Here's the thing. Astrologically I have uranus in the first opposite saturn in the 7th. Normally I feel eccentric and others reject that. I am unpredictable and hubby tries to restrict me.
Now how ever uranus is going thru my 7th, greatly shaking up all my relaionships, sending eccentric and forward thinking people into my sphere. And saturn is now in my 1st, causing a sort identity issue, and a heaviness I don't normally feel.
To top it off though, look what happened. They swithched places!!!Literally backwards.
I never had an easy time intergrating this opposition into my life in the first place, but now I really have my hands full.
It's like God and I have this game we like to play. I figure my life out, take some sort of defintion of self out of a situation.
And God quickly steps in to pull the rug out from underneath me to show me I don't know myself at all. Usually (THANKFULLY!! This is an inner process, I've never had physical losses of people, things, etc...)
It is one of the reasons I am one of the most liberal conservatives there is. I am never so fast to pass judgement on how another should live their life, because I learned quickly, God put me in the same postion I would ridicule. Once or twice of that and you don't jump to conclusions about others so fast.....very forgiving to others.

Hi Leaping,...It isn't so much that I missed out during younger years, I actually am pretty happy with having traveled alot...etc.
It's youth itself. I look at young women and wonder if they have any idea how beautiful they are simply BECAUSE of their youth. (Even the not so attractive ones are beautiful because of this youth) I didn't appriciate it while I had it. I was super insecure! There is such beauty in youth, I don't know how else to describe it.

Now on the other had being older, I like myself more, I like life more. I just don't want to look old, or loss the abiltiy to be the youthfulness I feel.

Do you know my best friend is 10 years younger than me! The oldest friend that I do things with is still 4 years younger than me. Women my age are so fuddy-duddy! It's like they've forgotten how to have fun.

Yeah, Lexx, last night my hubby and I talked about going into counseling. I just hate the idea. But...if I have to....I've been married 20 years, have 2 sons....

But really I'd rather hit him over the head and say "straighten out! It's you not me!!"

Oh a Mitshubishi GTO! I got me one of them in 2001. It was a veritable pain in the a** and I was glad when it departed! Cost me oodles for repairs.
Mine was black....looked the business.
Anyhow back to the issue in hand.
Not being an astrologer, but isn't early forties the time when Saturn is sort of half way around its cycle? A friend of mine told me that it illuminates your life saying "This is your life now, do you like it? If not change it because when you have your full Saturn return at 56 ish the crows will come home to roost.
I had a complete epiphany at 42 and my life was completely transformed because I realised that my belief system was actually my parents and bugger all to do with me.
It happened in a day. I remember where I was when the scales fell from my eyes and I have never been the same since.
So maybe that is what is happening to you lovely.
It's time to think whose life you've been living. Those mad turns are just your inner voice going "Hey lady! Are you listening???
Good times are ahead...oh yes...

Wow! First off I seee no reason to be embarrassed. Secondly, you look great, not a wreck like me.
Thirdly, you can actually afford a sports car! Wow! Our one economy car is almost a decade old and will have to last another decade somehow, unless our fortunes improve dramatically. Materialistically and [physically, you should count yourself very very very fortunate.
quote:
I had my son take my picture so you all would see what I was refering to...I totally see the humor of it....
OK...I personally missed the humour angle of it. Yeah it fits certain middle age crisis stereotypes...but how many younger folks can afford such things?
quote:
but I can also step back and ask myself what is going on?? Why am I "trying so hard"?..ya know what I mean?
Yes, why are you so terrified of aging and change?
quote:
Normally I feel eccentric and others reject that. I am unpredictable and hubby tries to restrict me.
Then are you hanging out with the right people for you?
Sounds like you are trying to hard to fit in where you really do not feel comfortable.
quote:
And saturn is now in my 1st, causing a sort identity issue, and a heaviness I don't normally feel.
That is normal 40ish thought.
quote:
And God quickly steps in to pull the rug out from underneath me to show me I don't know myself at all.
Have you been trying to live for others. pleasing them, just to be liked and have a circle of "friends", and not being your true self or even know who she really is.
quote:
Usually (THANKFULLY!! This is an inner process, I've never had physical losses of people, things, etc...)
That is far beyond fortunate good girl. Few folks can say that of their lives.
quote:

It is one of the reasons I am one of the most liberal conservatives there is.
What is a liberal conservative? Seems contradictory.
quote:
It's youth itself. I look at young women and wonder if they have any idea how beautiful they are simply BECAUSE of their youth. (Even the not so attractive ones are beautiful because of this youth) I didn't appriciate it while I had it. I was super insecure! There is such beauty in youth, I don't know how else to describe it.
You envy and pine for youth because you did not see it in you when you were young, few do. And now you seem to have materially it all, and a fantastic body to boot, and still you cannot see how great you look! Can you? And how fit you are? Seriously, you notice don't you? Or are you requiring others to give you lots of compliments to make it feel more real to you?
If you do not get enough compliments on your youthful looks and great body, then it is probably because if you say you look old or fat to some folks, they will look at you and think, god, if she thinks she looks old and fat, them I am a decrepit old cow, and think you are fishing for compliments whilst unconsciously looking down on the less fortunate in the aging arena.
quote:
Now on the other had being older, I like myself more, I like life more.
Good!
quote:
I just don't want to look old, or loss the abiltiy to be the youthfulness I feel.
Lady look at yourself! You are pretty and very very very fit! Barring illness or injury, you are a long time away from looking old and decrepit.
As for "feeling" young...age is a state of mind, so change your mind! My husband is 15 years younger. My body is a freaking wreck. Yet I still get hit on by men 15 to even once in awhile 30 years younger. Attitude and approachability and young thinking and not falling into "hardening of the Categories" is what really counts in the long haul.
quote:
Do you know my best friend is 10 years younger than me! The oldest friend that I do things with is still 4 years younger than me.
My friends were ages 30 to 102 in my youth. Now they are teens to 63.
quote:
Women my age are so fuddy-duddy! It's like they've forgotten how to have fun.

On that note I will agree. So many dress like grannies, and wear their hair in the all purpose boring granny/church matron style.
quote:
Yeah, Lexx, last night my hubby and I talked about going into counseling. I just hate the idea. But...if I have to....I've been married 20 years, have 2 sons....
Wow! Twenty years is a long time! I left ex#1 after almost 20 years for much the same reasons you have indicated. He was emotionally abusive and a control freak though, so not sure if that fits your mate or not. He refused counseling, so I left him.
quote:
But really I'd rather hit him over the head and say "straighten out! It's you not me!!"
Hmmm......are you sure about that? Either way, I still feel counseling is a good idea if you and he cannot wing it alone to reach an understanding.
Good luck to you.{{{hugs}}}
