Not so secretly. Thank god.

Hey Gypsee,
I didn't take that many pictures - I'll see if I can post some here in a bit.

You know how many kinds of intelligence there are, and I seem to have drawn the one that is good for nothing.. nothing but entertaining my therapist... undoing myself (and everything else)... getting praise for an unpublished (and probably unpublishable) poem once in a while.. writing aphorisms that nobody thinks are even half as original and important as I sometimes think they are... and inviting the wrath of some two dozen knowflakes.

That's hilarious.

Because [Let me think about this...] it's true, I guess. It's funny, because he's being self-deprecating. He's being sarcastic about the fact that his talent doesn't seem to bear practical, material fruit, which I identify with. He knows the talent is there, and that it does actually mean something, but it's like the roots underground: it means much to the plant, though it is hidden in darkness.

I see it. I didn't ignore your encouragement. I got painting pretty darn quick I'd say. And I said the poem you posted was perfect, too.

Oh sure, now that I'm back you've removed the offer. I would be interested in learning why you felt snubbed.

Here's a song I was listening to on the way home tonight I think Yin would like for it's mood. Very vampiric:

Ours - I'm a Monster

"What are they doing in heaven today?"

Now I'm in the mood for some Patricia Kaas. The following is not an original of hers but her rendition is the one I like best.

If You Go Away from "And Now... Ladies and Gentlemen"

"Ours" are great. I'm just more interested in songs about hope and butterflies in general.
Dark ominous music and lyrics depress me. (Except for "Elbow" - there is something playful thus comforting about them - see Grounds for Divorce )
Maybe when I'm more emotionally stable (if that ever happens) I would be able to appreciate it better.

But for now: Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

Sorry, cheesy I know, but it actually helps

Cat Stevens helps also: If You Want To Sing Out

I think, even the happy songs I like contain an element of sadness or resignation. Venus in Scorpio, anyone?

Ain't Got No.. (I Got Life) - Nina Simone

I Live My Broken Dreams - Daniel Johnston
