Lexx omg I hope you are okay You shouldn't be leaving the hospital, you can request for a transfer if your not happy there. You need to be supervised by doctors to prevent it from happening again and to find the cause. I am really worried that you discharged yourself. Sending you lots of love hugs and kisses xoxox

Good Gracious, I just found this thread! Sending you some healing vibes, Lexx! And I agree, you should consider transfering to another hospital instead ifyou're having problems with the staff! A person who's recently experienced something like this should not leave medical treatment against the Doctor's orders as Im sure there are still some neurological exams needed!!! IP: Logged |

doing better finally after these 5 days or so. Neck/b rain swelling abated a bit ago so my connections are returning! still tired but at least since new meds and chiropractor today, finally seem to have most of my brain body coordination back. Still had to correct a lot of errors in this post but was able and up to catching and correcting now. OK going to rest and do my brain body reconnection exercises because still having brain farts and palsy, just not continuous this evening. Am past the 48 hour extreme danger zone time. AbsintheDragonfly & koiflower Thank you both for caring! It helps!A little to help folks understand... The parts of the brain affected can vary from mini stroke to mini stroke and come on suddenly and go away in a short time or affect only one part of the brain. Having dyslexia (all my life to date) and motor skill problems from the neurological troubles, which I can usually keep under control well enough and use spell checker too.... well during a tia or mini stroke those problems get out of my control and add in the glitches caused by the mini strokes and I type like an idiot...but typing is one of the motor control mind brain exercise I must do to recover, as is my Lexigramming. Add in the partial blindness involved during one and the palsy and well, I do get quite messed up during them, and my speech is messed up too. Very frustrating during because my mind is working quite well during, but my brain/body connections go by the wayside. Once the neck and brain swelling abates, things improve fairly well and fast. PS.to those who wondered why I signed out of the hospital; in addition to my reasons, I was concerned about my husband who was having trouble keeping his seizures under control. So if I had stayed...who was going to keep an eye on him? Our friend I posted about being very ill certainly did not need any added stress. ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... hippichick Thank you. No, only aspirin because I bruise for no reason they can think of, the use of strong anticoagulants could possibly cause things to get worse. Also they are still, after 5 of them, not exactly sure what is the cause or causes. The first three were most likely Zelnorm related. http://www.drugwatch.com/zelnorm/side-effects.php The next and this most recent were different...no clear reason(s) yet as to what, except perhaps neurological, still on MS watch, and as my chiropractor said the other day, "you do not have just a match here, but the whole blazing forest fire!" when referring to the new damage (on top of the old damage) to my neck area.At the moment it is the sudden onset of very deep deep depression, an after effect of it all, that is testing my will something terrible. This is not an uncommon thing after, but is very hard to get through. I write myself notes reminding me that it is a temporary effect albeit nasty to say the least. It makes one think some really disturbing thoughts. On that note, yes, I will somehow get through this. I will. I have too. One day at a time. ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... You have given me an idea! I may start a thread about tias/mini strokes at HAH. So many folks do not understand how it is. I wonder how many friendships and relationships have ended because these things are not understood? I realized that many folks are clueless, (up to including being very unkind) during two separate episodes weeks apart...that I was having whislt posting here at LL a few years back. A few people (two still at LL) ridiculed me and basically insinuated and or said I was faking it for attention. (I forgive you all, but am still very hurt by the meanness) I could copy/cut/paste A-OK, but not type or speak well at all, (like this recent one)and was blind in one eye, then partially in the next two episodes. Well the area(s)of the brain for writing were affected, yet my mind was fine for reading, even with one eye, so copy/cut/paste was not too difficult... yet several folks did not understand this and a few were outright nasty and cruel when the ocular stroke progressed from that to affecting my writing/typing/spelling abilities. (I usually copy/cut/paste everyone's names here when posting, as it is easier to do that than remember spellings) Some became very angry/hurt then mean as all get out when I said in betwixt ER, and two specialist visits that I had to take a time out and avoid stress. Well I bowed to their begging me to post at LL (and e-mail) despite my pleas for the time out, and that I was sorry but could not deal with their problems (which were valid)and help them, even though friends... Then it progressed to the wonky typing...then a few weeks later I has another, smaller one, most likely stress related to the previous one... and got treated cruelly again by the same folks. MAYBE THEY HONESTLY DID NOT REALIZE OR UNDERSTAND??????? I do not know why for sure they acted so unkind, but it hurt really bad nevertheless. Yes, one can become very self centered during one, and after. Well hey...it is a potentially fatal thing to experience...so yeah...of course especially during and whilst recovering, the emotional, social, relationship, living condition issues, and so forth, EVEN OF FOLKS I CONSIDERED DEAR FRIENDS.....well their personal issues become as they should during such a potentially life threatening time, secondary to taking care of my needs. So, on that note folks; read up on mini strokes/tias BEFORE ASSUMING YOU ARE BEING IGNORED OR REJECTED DURING YOUR (MANY) EMOTIONAL CRISIS BY THE FRIEND WHO IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A MINI STROKE OR TIA! It takes about a month to fully or nearly, return to the pre episode self. Too much stress during that time can bring it on again, as it did with me.....or could kill. OK..rant over for now. Still fighting the depression, and freakish mood swings have begun, but it varies fro literally moment to moment, and I am riding the damn psychological waves, doldrums, and storms as best as I can.Posting helps....forces me to interact instead of curling up in bed going silent non interactive zombie. Bed rest is NOT the best thing (which many advised here before at LL) as my mind must keep actively "exercising" to help it restore/reroute old and new pathways to repair/replace the damaged paths. OK...breakfast. PS. Heh heh...my sig line looks like I feel...partly wonky still. ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. ~Everyone is gifted. Freaky! I just realized that I was feeling rather optimistic, the new meds for the IBS were working and I felt almost normal for the first time in over 2 decades when I posted this on fb. quote: Maybe just maybe...things are getting better.....one day at a time....3 steps forward, two back then heave ho and tally ho go again! August 1 at 12:33am
Then wham! Out of the blue, same day, then 13 1/2 hours later I was having the tia/mini stroke.
