PLEASE MOVE THIS THREAD TO KTAA and DELETE IT PLEASE HERE AT LLC2.... NOT SIMPLY CLOSE IT HERE AT LLC2. It is more a personal thread than a LL2 thread.IP: Logged |

LEXX I will be happy to delete it, however, I can't move anything into anyone's individual KTAA post.Did you want to copy it before I delete? I will wait until you post in return before I do anything. IP: Logged |

I know it cannot be moved to my personal thread. Just delete it here whilst moving it to KTAA as is. It will simply be another thread of mine there.

Thank you Peri Still recovering, getting better. Have to get an ultrasound on my carotids this afternoon. Insurance refused to pay for the Magnetic Resonance (MR) - Angiography of my neck and head, despite having had at least 5 tia/mini strokes since 2004) so the Ultrasound will have to suffice.IP: Logged |

I hate the insurance business. It is one big SCAM. I'm so sorry you have to bargain with them for your health, LEXX. IP: Logged |

For sure YIN!My boss was robbed and beaten at gunpoint whilst closing the bar one day in January. The robbers took everything, as she told them to please do... Yet, they beat her and our maintenance man ruthlessly. They shattered most of the bones in her shoulder, and the doctors said that basically the only thing holding her arm on was skin. She needed a complete rotatator cuff surgery. When she applied for Workmans Comp to pay for it, they said, "Sue your boss!" She said, "I am MY boss!" They said, "Oh, sorry... maybe The Victims of Violent Crimes agency can help you." She just put out another mortgage on her house so she can get the surgery... today in fact! The bar is three months behind in payments, and we'll probably lose it. Things like this shouldn't have to happen with the money we all pay in taxes. Sorry for the hijack, Lexx. I certainly am pulling for you. Feel better soon!!! IP: Logged |

Yin & GypseeWind Thank you! Oh my! That poor woman and man. I hope things work out for her. Sadly, yeah, her injury was on the job and if she, as the boss, did not pay into worker's comp insurance...she is screwed. How about the man?PS. Not a hijack GW, but relevant to the issue of insurance and refusal to pay. Our insurance costs about $600.00 a month...and does not cover things completely, including the doctors I have been going to for decades....so the total is actually higher with added co-pays and deductibles and out of pockets. The man is a homeless guy who they give a room to in the back in exchange for his services. His cheek bone was crushed, and he had some bad bruising, but, luckily he's fine now. He is already blind in one eye, and he said he was so scared that they would end up blinding the other one. I think they both have PTSD from this, but, yeah... I doubt they would get any counceling help. You do not qualify for at least the spend down plan on Medicaid partial disability??? My insurance is 45 dollars a month. But I went through hell and hoops to get it. Also, my credit is shot from my medical bills. People say that medical doesn't go on your credit, but it does... What people don't realize is that once Dr. Smith's bill goes to a collection agency, the COLLECTION agency is what goes on your credit report, not Dr. Smith. Surprisingly, doctors can be very inflexible about working with you, as far as payments. You would think that something would be better than nothing, but I've been flatly refused what I knew for SURE I could pay, only to turn around and agree to another amount and not pay it. Crazy! I've also talked doctors into waving the balance of their fees after insurance paid their portion. I'de estimate that about 1 in 10 will do this. Sometimes it takes mulitple letters though. OMG! :-( I do not know what to say but hope it all works out for them both. quote: You do not qualify for at least the spend down plan on Medicaid partial disability???
I am on Medicare permanent total disability. I was not and am not expected to ever get better and so far most has gotten worse over time. Severe nerve/bone/tendon damage and other nasty stuff, like palsy, tremors, agonizing spasms, blindness episodes from time to time, episodes of partial paralysis...and more crap from head to toes. And our insurance through my spouse's work. No spend downs there either. We are right on the edge by literally only a few bucks for financial help...but they cut you off if you are even a buck over the poverty guidelines per month. quote: My insurance is 45 dollars a month. But I went through hell and hoops to get it.
Oh my! That is great, even if it was hard to get! Pray tell, how is it and how did you get it? Ours would be even a whole lot more costly if my husband's employer were not paying a portion. quote:
Also, my credit is shot from my medical bills. People say that medical doesn't go on your credit, but it does...
Sorry you have to deal with that too. We finally had to go bankrupt. No credit at all. quote: What people don't realize is that once Dr. Smith's bill goes to a collection agency, the COLLECTION agency is what goes on your credit report, not Dr. Smith.
Sad but true.:-( quote: Surprisingly, doctors can be very inflexible about working with you, as far as payments. That is what I have experienced also, so needed medical/dental/vision must too often be put on hold. quote: I've also talked doctors into waving the balance of their fees after insurance paid their portion. I'de estimate that about 1 in 10 will do this. Sometimes it takes mulitple letters though.
Yeah, I have had some do that, but like you said...1 in 10 if that.:-(IP: Logged |
