Well I no longer believe in a "divine" anything.......
quote:
A miracle is an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws. Such an event may be attributed to a supernatural being (a deity), magic, a miracle worker, a saint or a religious leader. ... The possibility and probability of miracles are then equal to the possibility and probability of the existence of God.

So no; will not expect or look for miracles.
The connotations are too religion based.

However......
a happenstance of good fortune and good luck would be quite welcome!

I disagree with that definition. It's not religion-based or deity-based. A miracle is an occurrance that defies a common explanation. It's expecting a miracle as opposed to just wishing for a miracle. Linda would give away cards with nothing but those three words on them.

OK...then by your way of thinking;
Expecting a "miracle" is OK!
You know me; a literalist when it comes to definitions!
quote:

Literalist:
It can equate to the dictionary definition of literalism: "adherence to the exact letter or the literal sense", where literal means "in accordance with, involving, or being the primary or strict meaning of the word or words; not figurative or metaphorical".

So a happy circumstance, or a coincidence; or a synchronicity; or whatever....THAT is a good thing!
Then again; me and my adherence to official definitions!
quote:
ex·pect
ikˈspekt/Submit
verb
regard (something) as likely to happen.
"we expect the best"
synonyms: anticipate, await, look for, hope for, look forward to; contemplate, bargain for/on, bank on; predict, forecast, envisage, envision

So "expect" does not indicate anything illogical or wished or hoped for....at least not in that first definition.
So I shall therefore expect a miracle;
or anticipate/wait for; a happenstance of good fortune to be mine!
Sounds an awful lot like the summoning circumstances I spoke of on another thread!
I also must consider that "I have been the recipient of many "miracles" in my lifetime to date;
and that is why I am still here!
Based on many things in my life; it is odd that I even survived my birth!
Then several other odd happenstances that can only be seen as good luck even if not 100% perfect; were better than what most would have expected!
Sigh...the waiting does become quite ponderously time intensive after awhile though....
But...
still waiting!

OK...still expecting good things to come to me.
I like that better than waiting and or hoping; which always sounds lame to me.

Did a summons several weeks ago because neither me nor my husband had been able to mow the grass. The grass and weeds were getting 2 to 4 feet tall! .
I said we need some old guy who loves mowing just for fun and who will mow our grass cheaply. Well a month ago an older couple who are both disabled moved in next door. They are not as mobility disabled as us, and can move around just fine. Seems they are disabled from respiratory problems and both still smoke even though the guy uses oxygen and I think she does too.
Well he mows; he does not want paid; said he does it for fun; and she indicated it gives him something to do.
all would be fine except now we don't know how to fix a new problem;.........he mows, he mows down anything and everything including gutter down spouts and other things, including the flower beds and small trees and shrubs and hoses, and breaks concrete pavers not meant to be mowed over and border edging.....arrrrgghhhhh!
He also mows very loudly at all hours and wakes me up, mowing right under my bedroom window like his head goes zooming by only like a foot from me! Oh yeah; he uses a huge riding mower/brush hog to mow. The rocks hit the house and might have broken some windows. Arrrrggghhh!
We thanked him but asked him not to mow down everything and to just mow the open areas if he wants. He did not comply; and is still mowing like a lunatic; even wilder than before.

Yeppers!
Summons are powerful but tricky things.
Same for wishes and prayers.
The universe or whatever will take the easiest and fastest path to grant such things if they can be granted.
But.....just like people wishing or praying someone to be free of pain; well often that means that the person dies.
That stops the pain.
Then people cry; oh that was not what I meant!
But they got what they asked for.
Wishes are the same;
as we have heard many tales of Genies and Fairies granting wishes; but always there is a twist......

I will have to check it out then! Thank you!
I am not usually the one who turns on movies; my husband is. I can go months without doing so.
I think the last time I even turned on Netflix myself was in February or January.
