I don't want to be mean here, but every single person that I've met with Sun conjunct Venus is shallow.
Of the five people I know with this, ALL of them are extremely caught up in social affairs. All judge others by their social standing, and if you don't follow this 'game', you're not respected. I feel they're very superficial and only out to collect people, not get to know them.
What has been your experience with the aspect?

Gosh, I have experienced this once before and it's turned me off actually. You've gotta remember it's like a permanent transit - when Venus conjuncts the sun in general, you get a huge boost. You get noticed. Wowz. For this person it's part of their life.
How crappy they feel about themselves is another story tho - someone can have this and not even be aware of their attractiveness, and I'm kind of interested in someone with this aspect right now, who isn't even aware of his own appeal, especially with his Sun being in Capricorn and his moon in Cancer. He's more humble by nature. Maybe it's a saving grace, because the last time I experienced it, the person was full of it, and was a status sl*t. Libra Sun conjunct Libra Venus....Libra rising. He was so full of it, god bless him...last I checked he was wearing an ascot for god's sake

I don't think it's fair to isolate the aspect in general though it's not been so peachy for me either.

Yeah, I know. I don't want to generalize, but I keep stumbling onto these ninnies, and they all act the same way. It's sick.

I'm wondering if you got that state from my horary chart. You know, I lie on those things. I don't reveal my true location.
Let's just stick to this topic, please. I really want to hear some input.

LOL leaping.
You are so adorable

Fist, if it's a pattern then you're cursed
I had 4 years of Libra, Libra, Libra, and I would not be surprised at all if their Venuses conjunct their Suns. They drove me nuts.

Don't even start. I made the mistake of liking a full-blown Libra, and I mean FULL-BLOWN. She had Libra EVERYWHERE, as well as those planets in the seventh house. She was hopeless.
She was totally dependent on others, and that just made me sick.

I have it wide.. meaning its 7' or so.. I've never considered myself shallow.. I just seem to attract shallow people which only leads to disappointment. I always thought it was just because my venus is rather screwed.

I tell you what, in synastry it's been lovely for me, but has not amounted to a damn thing except for lavish displays of romance. WHich are great for a little while, but then get really boring after a while.
Yes, dear. You do well with sauteing brussel sprouts in duck fat. And your hair looks great when you do so, and then light a candle for dinner. But what the hell do you really want from me?
Virgoan practicality and Venus Scorpio/Mrs Taurus always takes over.

Topshelf makes an interesting point. Maybe these poor guys attract shallow folk and are frustrated. Some of them end up choosing the dark side. You never know.

mmm, though it's 8 degrees apart my sun and Venus are still considered conjunct usually.

until like 4-5 years ago i was a huge ball of insecurity and never ever thought i was anywhere close to being attractive. now i'm just glad that i don't degrade myself to that degree. i look ok.

as for being shallow... i really can't say for myself, but people do seem to find me very likable... and they often come to me to be comforted... people who know me enough tell me i'm wise too, though i know some people who are really wise and i can't compare. it's not my experience that i've been told or get the idea that others thought i was shallow...

maybe it makes a different with closer orb conjunctions, or maybe that i'm so shallow that i don't notice subtle reactions of others??

If Sun con. Venus isn't your style, what do you like in synastry?
I like a Glenn Close kind of thing. Makes me feel comforted.

Yeah. I mean, if she was more loving than freakish in Fatal Attraction, I wouldn't mind her possessiveness.
