Nemesis, the messenger of Justice, is Retribution or Divine Vengeance, and the one who established the decree that transfers the soul from body to body. Therefore she is feared; but some artists, being persuaded that Nemesis manifests herself as a consequence of love, have given wings to Nemesis as they do to Love, who also appears winged.
This goddess is implacable to men of violence, but she is best known for deeply disliking the absence of moderation, and for being zealous in re-establishing order and proportion through the punishment of excesses of pride and undeserved happiness. Nemesis puts to sleep presumptuous boasting and checks offensive words, exacting a heavy penalty for them. Accordingly, those who, feeling the nearness of Fortune, abuse others, are sooner or later fated to meet Nemesis, when Fortune, who ignores constancy, has departed.
Not long from Marathon, where the mighty Persian army was defeated by the Athenians in historical times (490 BC), there was a sanctuary and statue of Nemesis. It is told that the Persians' pride was such that they believed that nothing stood in the way of their taking Athens. Accordingly, they brought a piece of Parian marble to make a trophy to celebrate their victory, being persuaded that their task was already accomplished. But as it happened, they met defeat, and of this same piece of marble, the Athenian sculptor Phidias made a statue of Nemesis, the goddess who punishes the proud.

Taurus I always see as the "dictator" sign, alongside Sag/Cap (Stalin/Mao). And Pisces (Mengele, bin Laden) can be dern evil at times - carrying all the cr*p from the rest of the zodiac round with them. As Gems can be just plain crazy (like the Nepalese prince who shot the rest of his family).

was something about his early speeches and how at first he seemed uncomfortable and unsure ..
then 'something' seemed to overtake him when he got started ..
almost like he was a ranting puppet

am fairly sure the main discussion subject in the book was 'uranus' ..
but .. it might have been an offside 'insert' connected to another subject ..

if i find the paragraph in question .. i'll type it out ..

.. One of the things that taught me a great deal about Uranus was a propaganda film that the Nazis made, called The Triumph of the Will. It is a terrifying piece of cinema. Hitler gets up on the podium to speak to the masses, and at first he seems like a human being. He shuffles and looks at his feet a lot. One can see he is shy, diffident, and uncomfortable, and one can glimpse the human pathology that fuelled his ambitions - the violent father, the invasive mother, the failed architect's career, the sense of social inferiority. Then he begins to speak, and it almost as if something alien, something inhuman or non-human, starts coming in. His words become more and more staccato and disjointed. His gestures become jerky and spasmodic, and more and more exaggerated. His body language is that of a puppet being jerked about by unseen strings.

.. Watching this film for the first time, I thought to myself, "There was once a person there, however twisted and warped. After all, there are a lot of ambitious, hateful, bigoted people walking on this planet. One can meet them or read their pronouncements in the gutter press every day. But here the human being is not present any more. Something else is there, something huge and collective and impersonal, speaking through this man. And it has also possessed the audience. There is a participation - mystique."

.. It was as though pure Uranian energy, a pure Uranian collective idea, was trying to pour out, presenting a new world-view. But the idea was contaminated by personal hate, and the perfect world of the Promethean vision was tainted by the individuals man's human pathology even as it emerged, taking on a dark and destructive colouration. I found it absolutely terrifying.

.. Dissociation and possession by a Uranian spirit are obvious in this film. The Nazis didn't see it that way, of course. It is a propaganda film, and it was well received by a populace primed to embrace the Promethean vision with its "final solution" to the problem of an imperfect society. It says something about why Hitler's speeches had such enormous power over the people listening to them. It wasn't one man speaking - it was the collective psyche of the nation speaking, with certain special flourishes of a personal and particularly nasty kind. Hitler was clearly a mouthpiece for something which was bursting forth on a collective level.

.. When a Uranian ideology is being expressed in this way, one can often see its repercussions in mass political rallies. There are no individuals any more. Hitler expressed this understanding when he wrote in 'Mein Kamp' that at a mass meeting, thought is eliminated, and therefore he would speak to the people only as a mass. I have no doubt the yearning for a redeemer - the Neptunian longing for salvation - contributed to the extraordinary receptivity the Germans showed to Hitler's vision. Also, the unaspected conjunction of Neptune and Pluto which occurred at his birth suggests extraordinary receptivity to the yearnings of his generational group. But his special personal gift, his personal charisma, seems to me to have been largely Uranaian in nature. Uranus on the Ascendant in his birth chart enabled him to articulate a collective vision that triggered the unconscious Uranian vision in all the individuals listening. The idea of the Third Reich, with all its implications, was not created by Hitler. It was an idea whose time had come.

.. Because of Uranus's tendency to generate dissociation and possession by an archetypal idea, it is urgent that there is a person at home, a strong ego-consciousness that can contain the Promethean vision and hold on to it just long enough to say, " Wait a minute, this looks great on paper, but who is going to be hurt by it? And am I morally capable of implementing it without my integrity being destroyed ? " .. Without such sobering questioning, we are at the mercy of something which is not intrinsically destructive, but which is archetypal and collective. And it may mow us down as easily as enlightening us. Maybe it will not do so globally, in the sense of a Third Reich, but it can flatten our individual values and feelings in specific areas of our personal lives, and then we must live with the consequences.
