btw I think squares are much more energetic and triggering aspects than trines, which are softer and more flowing.
I guess a square would produce a more urgent attraction, but it doesn`t provide the compatibility and ease and that "one of a kind" feeling a trine produces.
But this is - according to my understanding of the word- a vital part of soulmates, too, that you feel a certain ease and familiarity with each other.

You certainly also need "triggering" aspects, but I think the conjunction (and to a lesser degree the opposition) may be more positive than the square. Positive meaning providing more common ground, even though squares are WONDERFUL for growth and learning; maybe the square is a true karmic aspect?

But I wasn`t at the "painful soulmate"-connections, but those who could actually work as "true love soulmates", as IQ said.

Probably for compatibility I would look at conjunctions (of same-sex planets), trines (and sextiles)
and for passionate attraction I would look at conjunctions (of complimentary planets), oppositions (and squares to a certain degree).

Maybe I should even have TWO systems, to differentiate between compatibility and attraction. Could be interesting.

BTW you can even differentiate karmic, sexual and romance between the persons.

I don`t know which is the first person, but it doesn`t matter I guess.

That is interesting that the first person has no aspects to Mars, Eros or Pluto. Hmm

There seems to be an emphasis on the romantic side.

Also in the progressed synastry there is a Sun-Venus-trine and a Venus-DSC conjunction and ASC-Venus-trine, all very romantic combinations. Maybe there is some "spice" lacking, but maybe the Mars-Sun-opposition makes up for this

I actually have found the Mars-Sun-aspect to be often present at the outset of a relationship, but ONLY if there were other Venus-aspects, which they are in this case.

Besides why should soulmates always incarnate in the same social group?

Well, he`s not the one, I have been aware of for 19 years though.

And no I did NOT know. The world is small, I tell you. lol

The (19-year-long) one actually is living in the same city as my brother, and his ex-partner has recorded a cd with a friend of them, who coincidentally was also a friend of my old piano-teacher, and who is living in my hometown. So it came that he has recorded his cd just about 7 houses away from me. LOL
