I was never interested in anyone more than a year younger than me until I was over 30.There are certainly some beautiful celebrities who are rather ageless and sexy at any age, BUT... I posted this thread much more curious about people's real-life relationships and experiences having Capricorn Rising and/or Saturn in the 7th house. As MVM said, the characterization of Saturn in the 7th isn't that we necessarily like chronologically older partners, just that we like more "serious" or "mature" partners--and I thought it was interesting because I like wild, youthful partners. At age 18, liking guys much younger would be pretty gross! IP: Logged |

It's just one planet in one place on the chart. Like anything in astrology it doesn't help to be to formulaic. What does it aspect, what does it do on the chart? For me, Saturn is one of 4 planets in that house. Mercury is just as telling. I have to hear something I like more than I need to see it. Saturn is Conjunct Mercury on my chart making this influence very strong. Someone incredibly hot and much younger than me would be passable as long as they are capable of saying something intelligent or at least sensible. Or I will get bored. I am a Gemini after all, and there you go, the Sun is in the 7th, too. The problem with the 7th, and I think this was pointed out earlier, is the emphasis in interpretation being unduly placed on what you want in relationships. This house for me represents more how I connect with other people, in all aspects of life. In Houses of the Horoscope Bill Herbst uses the expressions mirrored awareness and cooperation to describe the symbolism of this house. He describes the caution and accommodation of Saturn in this house, which I do think there is truth in for me, I will put some of this up later if I get time. IP: Logged |

My guy has Saturn in his first house, opposing his descendant, and I am 6 years older than him. I also have Venus trine Saturn natally. I never wanted to be the older mate, but never-the-less, here I am, very much involved with a younger man. And happy, for the most part...the only thing that gives me pause is my own high expectations and nagging doubt, as described by my natal Venus in aspect to Saturn. IP: Logged |

Except guys that are 17/18 and in my Senior class didn't seem to pass up the sophmores *cough cough* lolI had a fun filled summer fling with an Aqua sophmore, that was exciting I was a Junior at 16, he turned 15 Jan. 24, I really don't understand highschool age system *shrugs* X_X For me personally the Cap Rise won't sieze her horns into young lovers until I am in my 20's and safe from jail bait zone.

For sure, Cheshire Kat! When I said I was attracted to guys 5-10 years younger, I meant when I was already 30+...if you were attracted to guys 5-10 years younger at 18, they would be between 8 and 13 years old...definitely a huge ewwww. blue moon, I've read that people with a big 7th house influence in their chart are especially concerned with relationships/partnerships. For me that's definitely true (Moon, Saturn, Venus) in 7th, at least in that I'm most fragile/invested in that area of my life, while other areas I'm much more laid back about. (My chart is a pitcher pouring into my Pisces 2nd house, which has Retro Jupiter in it...and with 2nd house issues, I'm just so relaxed and happy. I don't worry much about them and kind of expect them to take care of themselves...god if I only had that feeling about my love life. You are right that 7th house isn't only about your attractions...with your nice stellium in the 7th, you'll share a lot of interests with Libras--not just concern about partnerships of all kinds, but an interest in equality, beauty, and justice. Here is Anne Ortelee's list of what's emphasized in the 7th house: quote: Seventh House: Libra - Air Cardinal Cooperation Face to Face Relationships Business and marital partners, marriage, divorce, contracts, lawsuits, bargains, agreements, dealings with the public, public's response to you, open enemies, cooperation with others, lack of cooperation, what you most lack in your self, attitudes towards marriage, your mate, kind and quality of your marriages, how many marriages, grandparents, people who act as your agent or on your behalf, public relations, unions, kidneys, ovaries, lower half of back, participation, interaction, oppositions, sharing, competition, compromise, fairness, others return what they feel you deserve, reconciliation, equality, alternatives, obstruction, blockages, withdrawal, behavior, manners, etiquette, social skills, how others help you or fight you, peace, harmony, tolerating differences, virtues, bitchiness, law suit

Lucia23"The house placements of my two biggest stellia (7th house and 8th house) correspond to my perpetual attraction to Libra/Scorpio combos. Not sure what accounts for the Gemini attraction". Hey, we could be soul mates, I have venus, saturn, pluto in 7th and Sun,Uranus,Neptune,Jupiter in 8th lol But I am a Sag Scopio combo though, noy to mention a Sag-Cap cusp oh well! IP: Logged |

Wow, AscTaurus, I bet I'd be wildly attracted to you (or, if you're not male, platonically drawn to you)! I feel like there are a LOT of people on Lindaland with strong 8th house placements, which makes sense, because 8th housers love astrology/psychology. IP: Logged |

I have a deep affinity for "older" men. Or so the pattern seems to ellude. It's not that i consciously look for older partners, it's just that only men who are years my senior have the "criteria", if you will, of what i'm searching for. I'm a serial monogamist, so i don't just jump into a relationship with anyone. He has to be serious, mature, loyal, and ready to commit to me- among other things. So right off the bat, if i don't sense that he's the type of guy who is interested in those things i'm immediately turned off. I have Saturn in Cap, in the 3rd, opposite Venus/Chiron/Jupiter, trine Mercury/Mars. IP: Logged |

i have saturn in 7th, and merc, and sun, and pluto, and venus (with some house systems not others). don't even start with the asteroids there as well....i agree with MVM that as we grow into our 7th we own those qualities and seek them less in others. the 7th is what we project and once you start to realize that your projections are yourself, the whole picture changes...or did for me. as for older men or whatever the "cliches" are, i liked older men when i was 14, but between 18 and 40 every man i was attracted to turned out to be 19 - at least when i met him! of course my husband got older, but he was a good deal younger than i...chronologically at least. he had a cappy saturn in the 2nd so it was a very big player in his outlook. it opposed my mars and i felt i would suffocate in there! i married for legal residence reasons at 28 and for "real" reasons at 32... NOW i like "older" men, but they're not that much older than me! IP: Logged |
