I have moon oppose sun, mercury and mars, and believe me, we squared off when I was a teen. We even had a couple of near fist fights. But that is so yesterday lol... We seem to see the world with simular philosophies and we can talk on the phone for a long time, cracking each other up back & forth. I have Sagittarius rising so that probably helps.

Unfortunately, Mom didn't give me a peaceful, secure home life, so I (as would be expected) tended to escape into my private world (reading, writing stories) when not with friends. To this day, I hope for a positive relationship with her (and Dad) one day, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Luckily, Granny was able to fill in my need for a mom and I was very happy, even if it seemed on the rustic side (my Leo ascendant and Libra sun & venus would prefer better than rustic; OTOH, Mars in Sag gave me A LOT of energy, especially as a child, and a love for freedom & the outdoors, which I had, so I guess it balanced out). One of the few things I'm bitter about from childhood is the courts not letting me live with Granny anymore.

It upset me that Mamaw & Papaw (that would be my grandparents on my dad's side) weren't inclined to accept me, as they always thought their son (my dad) made a huge mistake marrying my mom, and gossip suggested I wasn't his biological daughter anyway.

Another mother figure, one who actually gets mother day's cards from me in fact, is Libran (has a lot of Scorpio placements, btw, and I'm on the Scorpio cusp...don't know if that's coincidental or not) and gave me what I needed, much like Granny did. Being Libra herself, she was also into tranquil and beautiful things which was a nice change of pace, too. She changed my life and I still refer to her as "my mentor" sometimes. I've also wondered if my life went the way it did BECAUSE she was SUPPOSED to be my mom, but as she never had children, I had to be born elsewhere...she was also very fascinated with the moon and made some essays about it from various perspectives (ancient mythology, symbolism, etc). Btw, she's also the one who had books by Linda Goodman, so I discovered Linda through her, too.
