seriously my brain isn't working so well these days, guys. i cannot for the life of me wrap my head around this one, but it's an option at astro.com so it must be somehow relevant.

how can a draconic progress?

I don't know. I wonder about this kind of stuff too (been doing all kinds of experimenting myself )
Since the draconic chart is about past lives or the soul somehow, maybe the draconic composite and progression is like a marker of more subtle things going on in the relationship, on a soul level?
Maybe also check the transits on the draconic composite?
Also, I think maybe if you do a check from the natal to the draconic composite you'll see some stuff.
I'm all about the unusual stuff with these kinds of things. If you find similarities, let me know!!

unusual is a particular obsession with me too, my dear.

it just seems the draco is so static, and it should be. though i guess it makes some sense that the progressed draco would be pointing to where we are in terms of evolution. but still, in my mind, in the very least it would have to be running backwards or something, heheh.

wish we could have lunch so we could talk about this and play footsie. but not for real, just in theory, since i don't think either of us leans that way.

:brain explodes:

My exploding brain is not due to the conceptual challenge of a Progressed Draconic Composite. (Smug guffaw) Instead, it's because a seat wasn't reserved for me at this theoretical footsie fest! Woah City are you not the Ed to my Brad, and are we not self-loving lovers? Founding members of Foot Club?

I suppose this would be a good time to apologize for posting while doped up on NyQuil. Lucky yous, I'll be sleepy soons.

About Dracos...I used to think of them as a static abstraction. That's probably the consensus on them. (close-up) But I don't think of them like that anymore.

*commercial break*

I think the Draco Chart represents another living part of ourselves, a deeper layer of ourselves beyond our tropical personality. If this is another living part of ourselves, then it grows. It progresses, you could even say.

Actually, it makes sense that it changes, since growth is inherent in the nodes. I don't think it's a linear path from SN to NN (although that's arguable), but is a continuous synthesis of the two. An expression of the SN in its optimal NN way, and back again. So maybe the Pogressed Draco shows the journey needed to accomplish that growth.

The places where our Draco (natal or progressed) connects with our Tropical are the areas where this deeper part of ourselves most obviously spills into our personality.

As our draco self progresses, it will contact different parts of our personality. Right now my Progressed D.Sun is cnj my MC. A few years ago, I switched career tracks to something that I truly love and must do. The first few years I couldn't commit fully because of other responsibilities. This year I could, and I feel like I've finally "arrived". My Progressed D.Sun on my MC fits perfectly!

I would use the Progressed Draconic Composite similarly, like a timing tool for illustrating when & where the connection between your draco selves touches your current, real life relationship.

Right now, conjunctions my SO and I have from our Prog D. Composite to our regular Comp:

Asc cnj Venus
IC cnj Juno
Sun cnj Moon
Vertex cnj NN

Those are fitting conjunctions for the year we've been having.

ETA: oops. Can I blame the NyQuil again? I just rechecked my progressed draconic, and I see that my Sun is a few degrees after my MC. It was exactly on it back when I made the career switch, which makes sense, too. I got the comp stuff right though.

LOL jane! I just saw your post
Can I have a swig of that NyQuil? Maybe we can all do NyQuil shots out of the little plastic tops

That's a helluva lot of stuff going on with the draconic charts with you and your man, btw! Wow.

I just did mine with the guy I'm seeing, but not with the composite, just my own progressed draconic chart... and my progressed d Moon is almost exactly conjunct his regular natal DC/7th house cusp... kind of eerie actually, in a nice way

I also did the regular composite progressions (don't know if anyone does those and if they 'make sense') and saw that the Sun, moon, and Venus of the progressed chart conjunct his natal Vertex EXACTLY.
And....ahh, blah blah blah.
I think you get my point

Progressed Draconic Composite: This is how the couple's cumulative past life event's karmic effects are playing out in the present moment.

MVM -

Aspects to his Vertex and DSC, eh? So I take it you prefer casual relationships that don't touch the participants too deeply?

Haven't the foggiest! Please go on.

Ahh, fond flashbacks to 3rd grade raves. They ended early.

NyQuil & posts about Draconics don't mix well for me, apparently. I was too fuzzy last night to realize that...

a. Woah didn't need to reserve a seat for me because, like the "footprints in the sand" story, where she sat, so did I.

b. Astro.com doesn't progress the Draconic Angles or Vertex. In your progressed draconic chart (individual or composite), it uses the regular (tropical) progressed placements for the angles and vertex.

So my SO and I have our regular progressed composite ASC, IC, and Vertex forming those conjunctions I listed with our composite.

I progressed the draconic angles and vertex myself (thanks for nothing, astro.com ). Those don't cnj our comp. So from the progressed draconic chart, that just leaves us with the Sun cnj our Moon.

In case anyone doesn't know how to convert tropical placements to draconic:

1. Use this calculator.
*In the first box you put "Aries 0.0".
*In the third box you put the chart's NN.
*Leave those alone, then in the second box put the placements you want converted to Draconic.

2. It's also easy to convert in your head once you notice your conversion's pattern. Basically, you'll be moving the planet/angle into a sign that is the same distance from your trop planet as 0 Aries is from your NN.
Then you subtract the degree of your Node.

Ex: My Node is at 2 Virgo. Aries is 5 signs before Virgo. So I will move my placements 5 signs earlier. This means my Sun at 16 Sag falls back to 16 Cancer. Then I subtract 2 degrees (the degree of my Node), and end up with a draconic sun at 14 Cancer. Voila, couldn't be easier! Pass the 'Quil. zzzz

Hi, D. Good to see you too.

About your aspects, I pointed out above that astro.com doesn't progress our Draconic angles or vertex. So if, like me, you were using the chart it makes as your reference, that's actually your regular progressed ASC that is cnj your MC.

jane, i mean ed, i mean me, i cannot stand how giddy you've made me feel at this very moment. super tired and pleasantly hungover (whatta night) today so i could only scan the thread. this being the case i can't offer you the reply you deserve just yet, but trust us, we are always playing theoretical footsie, at least, theoretically. because all we (i) have to do is think it, silly.

footprints indeed.

lmao, that made me squeal with delight. *sigh* I really do love him.

No need to comment. That picture has made the meaning of progressed draconic composites crystal clear to me. I think it's done that for all of us.

jane, i took the liberty of doing some unconventional lexogrammery and have determined that 'PSH!' is in fact the correct definition of progressed draco compo.

at least for now, till i can read this darn thread through and make some sense of it.
