i was thinking about this recently,

and to me, it seems like some are quite understandable.

particularly the air and fire signs.

i don't understand the Earth or Water sign venus's and how they try and 'attract' you.

some of them just sound like Rubbish with no ideas to come up with to explain. (no offense earthy/watery venus's)

don't understand ones like -

virgo/cancer/scorpio/pisces

or even taurus or capricorn.

how do these venus signs attract you? experiences?

some of what i read just doesn't give much 'clue' to me.

can these venus placements flirt? (i know you'll say yes) BUT how?

Personaly, I don't pay much attention to the sign that venus is placed in(unless it is a singleton) because the effect of the planets that aspect it tend to "dilute" or modify its nature anyways.

My venus is in Scorpio and I suppose the fact that it conjucts my Pluto (by sign), that would make me typical of a venus in scorpio?

I also however have Saturn aspecting venus(by degree) and this adds a so-called "venus in capricorn" feel to it; which by the way, I have noticed distinctly.

The confusing thing is that I often read on these sites that Scorpio venus is "fathful", "all or nothing" kinda person. I am all this but there is another side.

I tend to fall in love quickly, even though the expression of those affections to that person in question may be inhibited or "undetectable" at first.

I also am not necessarily faithful to the party who wins my affections; I am prone to flirt and "fool around" with other people whilst in a relationship with that person I love.

But the one thing that I can say is true for me is my inability to leave my relationship for a fling outside(unless I can see that the other party is grounded and level-headed).

I am a Sag sun and I don't know whether that contributes anything but I really enjoy having several people all at the same time. I fantasize about orgies and being in a 3-way "monogomous" relationship.

I am dating a guy who is venus in cancer (singleton) and he really shows all the traits of a cancer lover to the "t". He is :
-Caring
-Attentive
-Sensitive
-Intense
-Family focused
-Romantic
-Moody
-passionate.

I think that his sun in Leo does overlap his venus at times but since it forms a conjuction to his mercury, it makes him seem more playful.

When we met, we evoked our venus and sun signs(since both are trine) and I guess that is what made the attraction "familiar" and irresistable.

I was with a Gem sun and venus in Aries at the time, I broke it off immediately.

i don't understand your question letram, u ask how water or earth venus attract, but that is very simplistic; for me venus enjoys, receives, she's passive, not active as in "attractive"; the attraction is a consequence, not something deliberate.

i've got venus in pisces and i would say that my pleasure are pisceans, and if that is attractive or not is a different matter altogether, u see what i mean?

i love listening to music or being in nature, i'm solitary (saturn opp by 1°), when in love i can become anything my love wants or need, as long as i agree (aqua sun ) did i say music is necessary to my well being? i am a mystery to myself, i couldn't point out the caracteristics of my venus by sign, i think it is a combination, like asc taurus said; my venus trine uranus, opp saturn and lilith, quincunx moon (all by 2° maxi)
and square neptune (5°)

Venus in Pisces, Sun in Aqua is VERY attractive. The intelligence and independent thought of Aqua with the compassion and gentleness of Pisces. It has to be a winner. I have two very good friends with this combination.

Mine is Venus in Taurus. You are calling us rubbish? What a bloody nerve.

Earth, that should tell you something, shouldn't it? We attract with our down-to-earth charm, and in the right place and time, with our earthy sensuality.

thanks for the replies, that was some good points you brought up AscTaurus. and what you listed about the cancer makes sense, it just seems like water venus's like cancer apparently aren't direct at all then?

There's no apparent way a cancerian venus likes to dress, how to initiate 'action' towards a love interest?

it all seems like subject matter, how will a venus in cancer try and show all those traits you listed? this is what i don't particularly find out much about through these venus signs i mentioned.

pire, the question im asking is how these venus placements try to attract others. IF they are attracted to some one, and lets say you have a venus pisces, How will a venus pisces, uniquely (by its sign placement) try and attract an individual? still don't understand? there's all this speak about how Pisces is into music, so my mind is asking "does that mean a pisces would try and woo you by being artistic, or by playing music?"

this is what i wonder.

the air and fire sign placements to my memory, just seem to have more straight forward apparent ways of trying to attract a mate.

the water signs and earth signs, i just don't see it, it seems to just be a way of showing certain 'traits' through personality but not much direct.

can anyone understand my question?

lol

thanks again for the replies.

p.s. blue moon, i wasn't talking about the venus sign placements being rubbish, i mean the descriptions i read about how they try and 'attract' another mate.

I neglected to tell you about the Square to Mars in Aqua.

Doesn't it make sense that I love Aqua men so much?

That's a contradiction now, isn't it? You sound very Sagittarian to me.

I agree with the notion that your Sun modifies the nature of Venus unless Venus is a singleton or heavily aspected. Another thing to consider is whether Venus is retrograde.

AND

Since my Venus is in a fire sign, I guess I have nothing to contribute to this discussion.

Well, maybe except that I find Sco Venus fascinating, deep and passionate and can't wait to get to the bottom of it (if there is one there)

from astrology and relationships by david pond:

these people are sweet, nurturing and very easy to like; they appear to be easygoing, but often there is more beneath the surface; there is great magnetism, but also an apparent wall that separates them from others; these people may readily feel misundertood, so be willing to move slowly and dont make assumptions about them; u will be wrong more than u imagine; since their emotional life is quite complex, it will simply take much time and patience to fully know them and allow them to feel comfortable with u; if you keep your time with them pleasurable and trouble-free, u will see them more frequently;
venus in pisces people are incurable romantics in love, so poetry, music, and candlelight diners go a long way towards winning their favor; they love to please, so u will not have to defend your interest with them; however u might have to help them stand up and defend their own interests, as they do tend toward self-sacrificing behaviour; their emotional world is extremely complex and can appear like quagmire when they get overinvolved with worrying about people; if u are looking for a kind, gentle, and compassionate friend, one who has venus in pisces is ideal;

so, what comes out of this description is:

emotionally complex,
self sacrifing in love
needing trouble free environment
romantics

and with this, i would answer that i attract people who look for this caracteristics.

I have Venus in Pisces, square Saturn and Uranus, exact. Also square Chiron and my ASC.

I try not to be obvious when flirting. I also try not to let the other person know that I'm into them. I wait for them to come to me. I just make myself available.

For instance, there's this GORGEOUS guy in my class and all semester I've been going to class and hoping he'll say something to me. My friend and I pick seats that make it easy for him to sit next to us lol. AND FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS HE'S BEEN SITTING WITH US :O I still have only ever said 2 things to him. I also dress in a way that I think he'll be attracted to. So I've been wearing androgynous clothing... like last class we had matching outfits on pretty much.

I usually tease and I guess sometimes that makes me seem like I don't like the person I also try to balance my masculine and feminine energies in myself while flirting. Like, I'll act like the biggest princess ever while still being "one of the guys." Which is why I also dress androgynously. But this may be my Gemini ASC peaking through.

I'm like AscTaurus in that I tend to get the wandering eye when I'm in a relationship (I have Mars in Sagittarius so). Venus is exalted in Pisces and mine is at the critical 29 degrees, so I'm really searching for or trying to find TRUE LOVE so what tends to happen is that I start to question whether what I really feel towards my SO is love. I'm not even sure if I ever truly loved anyone in the way a Piscean Venus believes in love. I'm not even sure if it's possible for a human to love that way. I also have no standards lol, and it doesn't help that I also have Neptune in my 7th house. I can deal with any personality type, so sometimes I end up getting into relationships with people who treat me like crap.

Also like AscTaurus I think I'm beginning to be more and more open to polyamory. Right now, for instance, I'm kind of seeing 2 guys and they're both friends. I'm sleeping with one, and going on dates with the other. And right now it's perfect for me. I don't get too clingy with either one so they don't get sick of me (lately clinginess has been a problem for me what with Pluto squaring my Venus and transiting my 7th at the same time) and if one is busy that night, I'll just hang out with the other. Venus square Uranus for you.

Hmmm. I have Venus in Scorpio, in the 8th house, along with Pluto, so I would say I'm a typical Venus in Scorpio.

If I have understood your question, you're asking how I would attract someone to me?

I attract by intensity. By this I mean I use my appearance, temperament, and body language to convince my lovers that with me, there is more than meets the eye. They will have to dig deep to get to know me. I try to intrigue them, and I let them know up front that there is a high level of emotional activity that goes along with being in relationship with me.

I also attract using my sexuality...the promise of good things to come. That doesn't mean I try to come off as being sexually advanced (in fact the opposite--most of the men I date like a little bit of innocence in their women) but there's always the hint of great sex to come in my interactions.

Most importantly, and I think most effectively, I attract others by letting them know they are understood. That I may understand them better than anyone else. As others have mentioned, Venus in Scorpio people (and all water signs) are highly intuitive. I think for most people, there is nothing more attractive than thinking that someone really "gets" them--someone can see all their secrets, etc. There is no hiding from Venus in Scorpio.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Forgot to add that my Venus squares my Mars in Leo. That does have a big impact on how I am in relationships also. Fire vs. Water, masculine vs. feminine, etc. There's often a little bit of a conflict between what I need for romance and what I need for sex. I think it also helps explains my attraction to Fire sign males.

thanks for the replies again, Amowls, Starof, and Pire.

some further insights have made things alot clearer on the water side of the venus.

i think i'v come to the conclusion that when venus is in feminine signs, it doesn't tend to be as direct or action-taking at all as opposed to the masculine sign placements.

not heard much from the earthy side of venus placements, but im going to assume the same kind of trend follows.

thanks for the replies guys/girls

This is an interesting question Letram, makes you think, if I was attracted to someone, the first thing I do is seduce them.
My Venus is Pisces, I am shy and I like come and go from there presence at first in a very other worldly way.
You know, like completely engross them in a deep conversation that resonates deeply with each of us, where I intuit what they want me to do or say so well, that it surprises them, you know, like move my chair before they tell me they want to go to the bathroom to let them by. Or tell them where there keys are before they start to look for them.
Good times...
Then I will warmly but in a detached manner, but still connected .....you know,... sort of way, tell them good bye. I throw it into fates hands if I will see them again if they do not make a move...if its meant to be, I figure, it will be. If not then I make a delightful game out of it each time I see them. The last look is always the hook though..
Grant you I am very picky, and by the time I do want to attract someone,.......well lets just say I do it well, I use every bit of Prana that I have. lol

You haven't heard from us Earth Venus signs because we aren't direct and action taking.

Taurus, leisurely, let them come to you.

I've never thought of venus as 'direct' by nature anyways. Even in the masculine signs, it seems like she does things to get your attention. Or maybe that's just me.....

Venus is more -act to attract- and how on earth can you not see it in Taurus?? they seem the most at ease and up front with their sensuality of ALL. very languid, relishing in all their creature comforts, beautiful things, great sensations, you always know if it's turning them on or not - they always show it, and they'll make themselves look as touchable as possible. they want their lovers to be able to provide for them all the material and sensual comforts they crave.

virgo venus will make themselves useful give advice and be there to serve you, their big thing is being helpful, taking care of the bits and pieces to ease your burden, thats how you know they care for you, and it also helps to up their quotient of self worth. and theyre attracted more to those who often go by unnoticed for some reason.

capricorn venus is very aloof. with this one you have to pay attention to how they act around others, and see how it changes when theyre interacting with you, if they like you theyll be more like aquarius in the way that theyll close off a bit. they play it cool, assured, and on top of things. they want to suss you out before they give in, and when they give in make no mistake you have 100% of their attention and your body is theirs, end of story.

the water signs its more about the atmosphere, soaking up the vibes vs. earth venus.

cancer will tell you about their family, they want to cook for you, take care of you..ideally youd be their sweet little thing who they could screw and then feed soup to/take care of. they want to know how are you feeling? what did you eat today, blah, blah very homey feeling. and theyre BIG on protecting you, cancer is not to be crossed, they are big on self preservation.

scorpio venus much more about the vibrations in the air, the strong emotional undercurrents, theyll suss you out and try to get a handle on your motivations, and when they want you theres no looking away, they create an atmosphere around them that is so thick with all their intensity just swirling around and enveloping you in this safety net, scorpio again is huge on protecting you, and the us vs. them mentality. if they love you they have your back. dont except anything you say to be taken lightly, at least not in the beginning, safe bet is to joke around later when they feel safer with you. incredibly sensitive.

venus pisces is all about the dream. they want to create this magical romantic world and they want you right there with them. nothing is of this world, everything made to be something more, something extraordinary - they want you to hold their hand and enter into all of it, if they love the arts, poetry etc theyll want you in it, paint you, write about you, but you have to enter their fantasy or else. reality mostly is not allowed, they tend to be very gentle but hard to get a handle on, or a strong answer from. quicksilver-like, gemini and pisces have a lot in common.

and then houses aspects, etc. will add more to the mix ~

i don't see it in taurus, because again, most of the stuff you mentioned just goes unnoticed by me, too 'light'. i take it you're implying that you believe venus rules taurus as opposed to Libra, i don't believe so.

didn't mean to cause offense to some people, lol.

thanks for the replies. i stay at the same conclusion really.

i just don't see any of that as flirty!

so if venus is not how some one tries to attract another, what planet is?

i know venus is what a person is attracted to, but for a long time i have been under the impression and under the belief that it is also equally How we try to attract a person.

considering about 18 other replies here have followed this idea in response, i don't see how i'm looking at it the wrong way.

can you explain?

Read Lonake's description again, it is very good for Taurus.

If you don't see it, does that mean it isn't there? Maybe you just need some help on subtle and sensual.

Are you into older women?
