The main lie I would ever tell is exactly as others mentioned, a reason for not going out or to spare someone's feelings - even then I feel pretty guilty.

I have met a few pathological liars and it was the mercury neptune square that stood out the most. Mars/neptune contacts I would also watch out for. To be honest, I do not jibe well with a lot of Pisces/Neptune or 12th house energy in general. I have very direct, clear energy and forthrightness is a big deal to me so heavy neptune or ambiguity is the least comfortable to me. I do have Neptune in the 3rd but that mostly means you think in pictures & symbols and love music and film and visual arts.

The folks that have mostly lied to me have had Mercury in Gemini, opposite my Neptune in Sag. To be fair, I think it made it harder for me to be straightforward with them also which is bizarre since I'm usually very forthcoming. I would also find that we would in general mis-hear or misunderstand a lot. Annoying aspect.

I have a lot of air in my chart so I do find Gemini energy to be charming but a bit mischevious and dishonest at times - I have trust issues there. (I would not date a guy with Venus or Mars in Gemini again - I'm earth and water in those areas - and I think they inherently have trouble sticking to one person.)

I also heard that Mercury square Mars in synastry indicates that one or both of you will take each other for a ride and sure enough, I have had definitely had problems with men with Mars in Cap around 24-27 degrees squaring my Mercury in Libra. They were NOT coming from a good place - at least with me anyway!

Mercury-Neptune gives the actual tendency toward telling lies. Jupiter well-placed probably gives the ability to make yourself look very above-board and honest, even if you're lying a blue streak.

In my own chart, "Hermes" forms about a two degree opposition to my North Node; "Veritas" is in my first house and trines my moon and the asteroid "DNA"; "Peitho" trines "Veritas" and the moon.

Those kind of lies. I wouldn't tell someone I love them and I didn't and I hate leading people on. I don't like to force people to do something they don't want to even if I can do it gently (persuasion). I whine sometimes when I don't get my way... but it's a gross feeling if I wind up getting it. I own up to my mistakes. Lying also makes me physically uncomfortable. Well, except for those useless lies.
