i agree with glaucus, this is not so much voodoo as it is lynching or stoning, KKK type stuff.

while voodoo IS misused in a black magic way, it is not essentially black magic. it is (as i think someone else here said) no more so than astrology, spells, using the moonpower for prayer, etc. it was demonized by the catholic french (and other "christians") as a way to divorce the natives from their roots. this was a beginning of why haiti is so downtrodden NOW.

as to that article, lara, i agree that the US spends its money mostly in the wrong places. i do not blame each individual american any more than i blame the french of today for the state of haitians today. its a long story with a lot of snarls in it, hard to unravel.

america did not help aristide when the haves and haves-mores, as bush called them, used their money to put an end to that "democratic" nonsense. i have only just heard about that! if it were up to me - well unfortunately the US is way to big for most individuals to have much say in how the white house spreads the wealth around, but i did my best to get rid of the bush clan!

papa doc and his son also had a lot to do with the state of haiti. a lot.

personally i think what happened in the past is not important now, but what can we do about it? give money, time and education to haiti and others and ourselves and stop being so bloody-minded about SHARING with those less prosperous than ourselves, for sure. but as you see on GU some americans don't even want to share with our own poor or dispossessed. they are "lazy" or, as pat robertson said, they've "sold their souls to the devil"...

rather than laying this all at america's feet i think it can be laid at the feet of EVERYONE who has enough and is clinging to it as if giving to others would be the end of their lives.

But when you say that Haiti has made a pact with me, it is totally humiliating. I may be evil incarnate, but I’m no welcher. The way you put it, making a deal with me leaves folks desperate and impoverished.

Sure, in the afterlife, but when I strike bargains with people, they first get something here on Earth — glamour, beauty, talent, wealth, fame, glory, a golden fiddle. Those Haitians have nothing, and I mean nothing. And that was before the earthquake. Haven’t you seen “Crossroads”? Or “Damn Yankees”? If I had a thing going with Haiti, there’d be lots of banks, skyscrapers, SUVs, exclusive night clubs, Botox — that kind of thing.

An 80 percent poverty rate is so not my style. Nothing against it — I’m just saying: Not how I roll. Haiti does have strong aspects to Pluto's fellow transneptunians, AZ84 and Haumea.

conjunct Haumea in both ecliptic longitude and right ascension
trine AZ84 in Right Ascension

Haumea is Pluto's equal as a dwarf planet in Astronomy. a fellow kuiper belt object. a fellow Plutoid.

AZ84 is a plutino like Pluto, 2:3 orbital resonance with Neptune. it's astronomically similar to Pluto, and so it's astrologically similar too. It meets criteria for dwarf planet,Plutoid status because of its size.

Pluto's fellow transneptunian, Sedna is also in Pisces.

in Right Ascension,
Neptune is trine Sedna.
That could easily account for any tropical zodiac sign effects that some astrologers might think of Sedna in Pisces.

also Haiti's Sedna in 18'45 Pisces is trine the geocentric North Pluto Node in 17'51 Cancer (using 1 degree orb for nodes of transneptunian dwarf planets,planet candidates). Mercury in Capricorn links to that with it opposing the North Pluto Node and sextiling Sedna.

just looking at it from an alternative astrological standpoint.
