I am reading a Liz Green book. She talks about Pluto as an inexorable force which "plagues' you for a lifetime based on house.
IOW, wherever you have your Pluto will be the area which will a thorn in your side.
I have it in the 10th. Liz says that your mother and/or problems with society will be an issue.
So far ,I haven't had societal problems
However, my mother has been my primary source of sorrow.
I would love to hear people's interpretations of their Pluto by house and how it has impacted their lives.

i have pluto in the 10th as well. besides a loose conjunction with my midheaven, its not making any other major aspects. my mother...well i have 2. i was adopted as a baby. i met my biological mother about 3 years ago. i keep recreating both of those scenarios in my romantic-relationships: rejection, abandonment, people wanting to be with my but not being able to for various reasons, cold and unaffectionate lovers etc...but doesn't everyone recreate their parental relationships? i don't think its anything specific to pluto in the 10th...

perhaps pluto is more of a a place (house) where one seeks influence and control. (10th house-career, society, one's destiny/calling..) i also have saturn conjunct mars in my 10th house making a pretty square to my 2nd house sun so idk...can't really take any planet of aspect by itself, its all connected...

i'm not particularly a fan of liz green. i do like her astrological connections to mythology. but i find her very difficult to read. and i'm an avid reader. too much filler for me...

I have Pluto in Libra in 1st

but not sure how much of an influence that it has on things associated with my 1st house. It's not conjunct my Ascendant.

Also in Equal and Whole Sign House systems, it's in my 2nd house.

I have Pluto's fellow dwarf planet,Haumea in 12th conjunct my Ascendant with 2'10 orb. Therefore,I have Haumea Rising in my chart. I am starting wonder if that's why I can relate to what astrologers say about Pluto in 1st.

Cosmobiologists don't use houses, and they would point out that my Ascendant is square my Mars/Pluto midpoint with 4 minutes of arc.

there is also 2003 AZ84, Dwarf planet candidate/plutino (an object that orbits like Pluto,3:2 orbital resonance with Neptune) that is only 2 minutes square my Ascendant in Right Ascension (Equatorial Longitude). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%28208996%29_2003_AZ84

so there are 3 astrological reasons that I can relate to Pluto in 1st from 3 different perspectives.

Hi, Ami. Pluto in 7th. The relationships are difficult. Dying and rising again. Pluto is conjunct my Sun and Uranus. Sudden changes and disruptions have taken places all my life. I am in a steady relationship now, but I have to work on it not to be disrupted. I hope my partner is not going to leave me due to death. I really do, because it will be the most horrible thing to happen. But it's in my chart. So.

I have it in the 10th and I've gotten something totally different from it (I don't see the 10th house as the mother). I've read that there's an ongoing issue with Saturn-related areas....like fathers and authority figures. That applies in my case.

The 10th house is the house of Public so I think I can relate to the society issue too...but that ties in with my 12th house too (outside looking in).

I am with you that. I never saw the 10th house as the mother even though I was into Liz Greene stuff at the time. Like Liz Greene, Glenn Perry is also a psychological astrologer. I actually was more into his way of doing Astrology in the early years of me being in Astrology. He has the view that that 10th house is the father, and that 4th house is the mother.

There is a lot of disagreement about which houses associate with mother and father, and I have come to the point that I don't bother using any of the houses as parental houses.
I definitely don't use the Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis as parental house axis. There is no logic to it.

The Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis doesn't always correlated with the beginning of the 10th and 4th houses.

in the polar regions, quadrant house systems like koch and placidus break down and are useless.

In the South Polar areas, the Midheaven is located at the bottom of the chart. I wonder if the Midheaven is actually located in the bottom half of the chart for people born in the Southern Hemisphere. It's not like Astrological charts reflect astronomical reality any way.

at certain times in the Artic Circle, the Ascendant/Descendant axis and the Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis conjunct or oppose each other, and, so "voila...no houses!"
Murmansk,Russia is the most populated city in the polar regions with over 300,000 people.

Mine's in the 4th and my whole life has been one house move after another! Huge upheavel and constant flux where home is concerned. I've made some bad choices and moved in with people impulsively on my quest to find 'home' and I still haven't managed it yet. Fingers crossed I will one day

Diandra,

How has your Pluto in the first influenced you? If you'd be open to share, that is.

Can you talk about it, too? Sometimes I think I had the worst life although I know I couldn't.

Yeah, I would rather try to look at that Axis in a situational view (public life, authority, and maybe father *archetypes*) than assign them to actual people. Because I know for sure that the descriptions of the 10th house Pluto do not apply to my relationship with my mother. There is very little that's plutonian about it.

I have Pluto on the exact degree as my DC so its in the cusp of the 7th house. And it Opps my AC. I also have Uranus in the 7th...

Relationships are a struggle. but exciting. The men that I do get into a relationship with I always met in some weird off the wall way.
My husband (after 12 years) of marriage, was taken away from me. Its another weird unusual story. I really don't want to get into it. So because of that we separated.

Mine is in the 7th but to be honest I'm not so sure I can see how it's affected my relationships...I've never had a super controlling or manipulative partner....does anyone have any thoughts?

I have Pluto in the 11th conjuncting Saturn in the 12th (there are a lot of other aspects as well, but I'm not going to list them all).

I think the Pluto/Saturn conjunction between the 11th/12th house is difficult and makes sense in my circumstances.

I had a HARD time as a kid (mostly as a pre-teen and teenager) keeping friends mostly because I didn't really fit into any one group of people.

I STILL don't really fit into any one group of people, but I have learned to adapt and keep many varied groups of friends that all see different parts of me. Kinda sucks though, because I feel that most people don't see the totality of who I am.

Plus, I've had a lot of backstabbing friends which I guess would be Pluto clearing out friends that aren't authentic. People I've never harmed, but who, when it came down to it, were using me or were jealous of me.

Having those kinds of friends at that age is pretty normal for most kids, but it really did a number on me since I've always been an honest and direct (and somewhat naive) person.

As a result, I put up really huge walls to all other people for a LONG time, even into my young adulthood, and it affected all types of relationships. I would be uncomfortable in groups of people. I would go to parties and look for the exit as soon as I could. I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb (having Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in the 1st didn't help that). It essentially destroyed my faith in friendships for a long time, and also my faith in my worth.

During college I started associating with a really great group of people and they slowly helped me to start to rebuild my faith in friends and in other people.

Funny enough, I am now incredibly outgoing and have more genuine friends than most of my closest friends do. Friendship for me is really about substance over just quantity.

I assume that has to do with the nature of Pluto breaking down and rebuilding... I have noticed that I tend to go through groups of friends, in that I will grow apart from people and vice versa but it's usually fairly easy for me to find a new group of people to bond with. It cycles, quite possibly according to transit; I haven't really looked that closely.

Pluto in the 1st house:

willful beyond belief = at times willing to bring down the house just because I.WILL.HAVE.MY.WAY.

constantly transforming, changing

taboo and sex interests me in ways that I am not prepared to admit, being a virgo rising.

All in all typical pluto stuff, just most people don't get to see it because it's opposite saturn in 7th. I am not comfortable showing people that side of me...but make no mistake. It is there.

Glaucus- thanks for bringing that up. Now that I think about it, transformation, regeneration, and evolution seems really key in my relationships...maybe the only means by which I access those experiences. Trust/betrayal/hidden matters less so....so far? Still young! Thank you for your thoughts
