OK - we had a general pet peeves thread in LLC2..

But I was curious what your *personal* romantic pet peeves are!

Please post your Venus - sign, house and aspects... and anything else you find relevant..

I will start off.. For me -- the BIGGEST pet peeve ever are men who only talk about love and sex.. I need a good conversationalist -- one who can approach interesting topics and tell me cool things about the world or about his own life.. someone I can talk to about anything and everything!

But there are those men who will approach you -- asking things about your romantic past and about what you like in a guy -- and things about your sexuality... Any love-sex related conversation is a HUGE put off (unless I already know them and have seen their brain ticking away in other areas).

My Venus conj NN - Taurus, 11th - trine Mars/Nept, opposite Pluto

Well I have Venus in Virgo in house 8, conjunct my Sun, Mercury and Ceres.

My BIGGEST pet peeve would be clinginess. And I couldn't stand being with a girl who wants to know what im doing every single second of the day :P To me trust is paramount in a relationship.

I mean I guess its my 8th house earth influence/scorpio influences all through my chart. Its kinda like "if im with you its because I love you. Im not ging anywhere. So give me space!!!" lol

Haven't had this issue in years really, but it was always a peeve if my girlfriend seemed stupid including laughing at stupid stuff. Mercury chart ruler, you know.

Venus in Sag in the 7th conjunct Mercury, sextile Pluto in Libra in the 5th, and opposite Saturn. That about says it all doesn't it?

That's one of my peeves, as well.

Venus in Gemini, conjunct Moon, square Mars in Pisces, trine Pluto, inconjunct Uranus/ascendant. Eighth house.

(*edited, because my list could keep growing, at the moment. I'm not too happy with someone. )

rules:
- my male friends call me whenever they want, even after midnight. when i find a person hot,i comment...he shouldn't have any prob.

- i don't want someone who calls me 6 times a day.

- i too need a good conversationalist. too much of romance is not my cup of tea.

sagittarius venus(10H) conjunct nnode/mercury.

the above things won't lead to a break up but i'll defo get annoyed.

If someone can't understand my heart, I will be gone.
There is the outer shell(Scorpio Ascendant) and the mind/ personality/love sense ( Gem Mercury/Gem Sun/ Gem Venus ) and the heart( Cancer moon).
My moon makes the decision.

PS Sun, moon, and Mercury in the 8th. Venus in 7th.

I have Venus in Gemini conjunct Mercury in the 9th house which is also ruled by Gemini.

People who don't have an education or a smart mind are people I would rarely be attracted to. I also don't like people who are messy for some reason. That might be my Virgo SN...

-Anyone who thinks they can lure me in with the kind of car or necklace they have.

-Anyone who can't talk about anything but sex and money.

-Guys who aren't very intelligent, or think reading for leisure is 'dumb'.

-Guys with ZERO integrity....go on with your weak self.

**Oh, one more: freeloaders. I hate freeloaders. That's probably more my Virgo moon though.

Gemini Venus/5th. Technically an unaspected singleton, but it's trine my MC and sextile my Eros.

Taurus Venus in the 2nd
Venus square Jupiter
Venus opp. Saturn
Venus trine MC

I hate the typical things the most girls hate, ie. Lying, cheating, mummy's boys etc

But what REALLY turns me off though is,

- Bad dress sense
- No social skills or social perspective, like I can't take them out anywhere
- No culture
- No class
- No integrity
- No style
- Guys that want to "fix" me and mould me into their perfect fantasy idea of a trophy girlfriend/wife
- Wanting to get to know everything about me and get close emotionally and mentally straight away, whereas I see it as emotional and mental INVASION
- PLAYSTATION or XBOX (major pet hate there)
- No table manners
- No manners in general
- Guys that think they're a gangster, when clearly, they're not. Especially since a certain TV series came out, guys like things are everywhere you go, trying to impress you with connections. No. Go away.
- No compassion or sympathy
- I really hate guys that share that "bro's before ho's" mentality with their "boys" (yuuck)
- Desperation
- Opportunists
- Love sick puppies
- No intellectual pursuits or interests, like BM said, its even worse when they criticise you for being "intellectual"
- Lack of education or ambition
- Ed Hardy t-shirt wearing gym freaks
- Guys that go to strip clubs every weekend
- No respect for human life
- Sports freaks
- No higher form of thinking or sense of responsibility to society

The Venus Taurus is responsible for the dislike of certain material things, obviously. But it's not just Venus, I think
Libra Moon would be responsible for the distaste in things that lack intellectual and social refinement whereas the Jupiter Aquarius would be the hate for anyone with a small mind who doesn't have social compassion.

My pet peeve would be guys that are stuck on themselves...would rather talk about themselves instead of getting to know me AND guys that go MIA (we've discussed this in other threads) for a few days then come back and act like nothing happened!!

Wow, Diablo, you and I have lots of the same peeves, it's funny! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Although I don't mind a sports freak if he doesn't mind that I have absolutely zero interest in sports. Or understanding.

I'll add a couple of my own:

Cheapness in a guy. Like if he makes it a point to check the bill a few times and raise his eyebrows. Or goes on and on about how much something cost him, like it pains him to this day that he paid that much. Yuck. Yuck, yuck. Bleghhhh.

Racist comments from a guy, especially the kind that get blurted out when we're on the road and somebody cuts him off. I mean, does it really matter if he's a ________ a**hole or a ______________ a**hole?

The burping and the farting, a real turn off. I don't know what I expect them to do, really. I'm probably being unreasonable. I mean, run to the men's room every time? I don't know. But for me, it kills the passion real quick.

Venus in Sag, 9th, exactly conjunct Uranus and Saturn and Neptune a few degrees away. Also exactly semisquare Pluto, sextile Mars, opposite Chiron and parallel Neptune

My biggest pet peeve- I'm not a fan of traditional "romancing," it makes me super uncomfortable and I immediately feel caged in somehow and want run off/break the contact.
Being finicky really bothers me. Taking one's sweet time in a relationship bothers me. Being too obliging bothers me. Not willing to get into an argument once in awhile, not letting me know you're into me sexually usually means I get bored fast, not maintaining a sense of idealism in a relationship (eg once dated a guy who always left the toilet seat in my house up which bothered me to no end bc I was like, "I don't wanna think of you peeing!"), treating me too delicately, trying too hard, taking yourself too seriously, no sense of humor, no apparent sense of idealism/passion, too pushy emotionally, guys that care about their appearance too much/look too neat/groomed, wanting anything other than to have FUN in a relationship generally turns me off.

Venus in Taurus
9th house
Conjunct Mars

Moody, snappy types. Too many no-go/taboo subjects.

Won't argue, or talk about controversial issues...because it might lead to an argument.

Dominating types, who want to give you a nickname, but won't let you give them one.

Boring types who're always trying to keep the peace.

Patronage. The silly-shallow, drunk-a$$ Taurus w/ Moon in Gemini, types.

I'm no Aries, or Leo, or Scorpio...I'm Gemini. But, I will only let you dominate on Monday, IF, I get to dominate on Tuesday. Otherwise, forget it.

Venus in Cancer in the 11th house.

Pet Peeves:

Loud women. I mean, loud in public. I prefer a soft spoken woman.

Promiscuous women. For obvious reasons. Sorry its a double standard but its true.

A "manly" woman. A woman who is bossy, controlling, combative, domineering, rebellious. Oh my I can't stand women like that. I like a cooperative women. Passivity is not a bad thing ladies! Its not a four letter word!

Aggressive women. Sorry, I do not like too much aggression in a woman. Its very masculine. I like girly girls.

Impatience. I have a Libra Moon so I am patient and require patience.

Bad hygiene. I have a Virgo Asc and Mars, nuff said lol!

A taker and not a giver. If you don't reciprocate, we might as well not be together! (Moon Venus mutual reception)

What I DO like:

A soft spoken but confident woman. One who will give me the space that my Gemini Sun and Merc needs but also retain the closeness that my Venus in Cancer requires.

She absolutely MUST be able to hold a conversation! Gemini Merc conjunct Sun.

I like trustworthy women. Sorry, I don't do the close male friend thing. You are NOT gonna be with me and go hanging out with a bunch of dudes. I trust you but not them. Men don't hang around women because they want to be just their friend. And in return, I won't keep close female friends.m I hope I don't "ruffle any feathers" with that but its true!

I like a woman that is as private as I am. I'd rather not discuss our bills at the restaurant where everyone can hear us.

I LOVE a woman with a good and witty sense of humor!

I LOVE sweet women.

guys that are into gender stereotypes or "traditional" gender roles or guys that give you sh*t for sleeping with other dudes before. got gemini reminded me of this lol. i really hate double standards and hypocrisy (libra moon? aqua sun?). similarly, i don't sleep with anyone that is anti choice.

i also don't like guys who are "bros" as in they treat women as commodities and brag to their friends about getting laid or whatever. obvious tools of the patriarchy lol.

oh and i hate sports so any guy that makes me watch sports is a turn off as well. and guys who are rigid in their thinking. and if they like crappy music. i also never find a guy attractive if he doesn't dress well (as in to my taste... i like them a little "alt", not necessarily dress shirt and tie). like a guy can be the ugliest dude in the world but if he's dressed fly, im into it.

i also don't like controlling guys. like if you don't let me see my friends? PLEASE.

if a guy is too distant or too hard to hang out with, that's also a huge turn off. i like spending a lot of time with the person i'm in a relationship with so if you keep me separate from your life im not going to be into it.

Actually, I don't care to hear about any dude a woman has slept with before. I won't even ask. But if she has a reputation for being promiscuous, its a pass for me.

And gender roles? What do you mean by this?

As far as the double standard that I was speaking of goes, oh well. That double standard has been around a LOOOOOOOOONG time. Its a shame but no man wants to be with a woman that has been with a bunch of dudes. Its just the way it is. Im just being honest. Don't hate on me for it.

I'm not knocking your likes and dislikes so don't knock mine.

see, promiscuity is so subjective. that could just mean any woman who has slept with more people than you OR it could mean any woman who is not a virgin OR a woman who has sex outside of relationships etc.

gender roles as in the man goes out and works and the woman stays home. the man does yard work and the woman does all the housework. the man commands, the woman obeys. etc

i don't mean to knock it, it just reminded me of what i don't like. to each their own.

just because it's been around for a long time doesn't make it right. slavery was around for a long time too. you should probably explore why it bothers you? and actually, a lot of guys don't care because they realize that it has nothing to do with them.

Well, it USUALLY means a woman that has slept with a LOT of men. For most men, that number is rather low. Ask your guy friends what that number is or what they consider too to be to many partners for a woman to have had.

I agree with you on the gender roles. I believe in equality.

I didn't catch this:

LOL, amowls, you got me wrong thats all i'm gonna say. The slavery analogy isn't necessary and has nothing to do with this.

Actually A lot of guys DO care. Like I said, you go ask any guy if he wants to marry a women that has slept with a bunch of dudes and see what they say. You might get 1 or 2 that say they don't care. The rest will say they rather be with a woman that HASN'T been with a bunch of guys. And ask a BUNCH of dudes, not just your friends.

quote:
you should probably explore why it bothers you?

Never said it bothers me. I just won't choose a woman that has been with a bunch of dudes the same way you won't choose a guy that is into typical gender roles.

EDIT: Why do you assume it bothers me?

if you truly believe in equality than you should rethink your stance on double standards regarding promiscuity in men and women.

i just asked my boyfriend and he said "...I don't know, I don't really care." the only friend that has ever talked about quotas regarding past sexual partners was a woman and she said 7 is her cut off (she was a virgin at the time and has only slept with guy since). i said "wow good luck with that."

and obviously it bothers you if it's a prerequisite for dating you. guys who are into gender roles bother me.

quote:
The slavery analogy isn't necessary and has nothing to do with this.

it's been the grand tradition of the united states and several other countries throughout history. one of the arguments for keeping slavery was that it was "tradition." that's why i drew the comparison, not saying that you condone slavery obviously.
