Ami,
Yes, the effect of your planet would be more subconcious or subliminal to him.

And remember that the 12th house is the house of the subconscious mind, hidden problems, and working behind the scenes. So that is how any planets in the 12th are going to work. It's not until those planets cross over the Ascendant that there is external awareness.

With your planets in his 12th, you probably see things that he doesn't see about himself. You could help him bring issues up to the surface level that have been hidden for a long time, but that need to be addressed. What's tough about that is that the old adage is very true, "you have to feel it, to heal it." There is pain associated with it, for both of you. I think it's difficult for both people...if a partner stirs up your hidden elements, the stuff you don't necessarily want others to see, well....it can be hard to keep your feelings balanced for that person due to the pain that was stirred up.

But when you look at it from a higher level, if there are issues the other person hasn't fully dealt with, and keeps them "roiling and boiling" down in their guts, the universe is going to send them someone who is going to stir the issues, get them up to the surface, so they can release, and heal.

You know, VIG. I could describe it like this. It is a relationship where you push aside your mind and go by feel.

So, VIG, if someone has his Mars in my 12th house, what does that mean? What can he bring out in me that's hidden?

Dear Crabby
Look at Lioness' thread. There is a post on Mars in the 12th house.

I have Venus in Cancer opp Saturn in Capricorn. I often feel like a professional c**k-blocker. I'm not interested in fooling around. In relationships, I always stick around until I feel I have outgrown the other person. I know within 5 seconds of meeting you whether or not I would be interested in having a romantic relationship with you-- criteria includes attractiveness, intelligence, status (confidence), and mystery. If in that 5 seconds you don't make the cut, that's it. Done. Even if down the road I start to have feelings for you, I will not act on them, as I have made a decision and will stick with it.

Very career-driven. Part of me likes the idea of having an open-relationship. I am bound to travel a lot for my career, and rather than risk feeling uneasy about whether or not I will be cheated on, I think that it would just be simpler to treat sex intellectually. Yet the other part of me also knows that I am a very emotional lover, underneath, and I am unconsciously searching for someone to break my hard shell.

If you were to ask my friends about my love life they would tell you, "Meta? Meta doesn't date. She's going to end up with some older man who has an IQ of 8 million."

Interesting, Meta. That's exactly the impression I have of someone else I know with this placement.

You have strong Pluto/Scorp ,too,if I remember correctly.
You seem that --in relationships--the Saturn side dominates rather than the Venus.
Do you agree?

Ami,

I'd say that 2 years ago I would have have been more of the Venus-side. However, after experiencing a turbulent, uneven relationship which necessitated I rebuild myself from scratch, I've radically adjusted and "hardened." I've become more Saturn-like in my approach, probably out of determination not to get burned like that again. I think that was the lesson I was supposed to learn from that interaction.

I am very Plutonian- Scorpio Rising with Pluto in the first. Perhaps that also contributes to how extreme I am? It's hard to tell what placements attribute to what parts of your personality.

crabbypatty,

Is the other person you know with this placement a male or female? Perhaps it manifests differently depending on what sex you are?..

Meta, it's a male and I don't know him well enough to really judge comprehensively, plus there are other aspects of his chart that I may not be considering, but from what you said, there are definite parallels.

Thank you for your responses, though, because you, like the other posters, have shed some light for me (as usual)!

Yes, Meta
I could see how you could be the Venus side when you were younger and more innocent.
Then, through having to mine your deeper,Plutonian self, you changed.
I am struggling with that very same thing, now.
It is not with a relationship.
It is with myself.
I was too innocent about life not cuz I am such a good person or too nice.
It was the inability to face Pluto issues in myself.
If I did not face them in myself, they were hidden to me in other people and the world.
I think you are saying you went through a similar type of experience and are trying to find the same balance,if I understand you right.

crabbypatty,

No problem. Happy to answer any questions (to the best of my ability).

Ami,

What changes are you afraid of? You said you realized within yourself that you were too "naive" and "innocent"? It's ok to be more Venus-like in love and life. Not everyone has to be hard and Saturnian. Both behaviors have their pros and cons.

Hey CrabbyPatty, let me put my 2 cents in...

I've got this natally, but its a bit disconcerning, because Natal Saturn is conjunct Uranus, so both N. Saturn and Uranus (1st) are opposite my N. Venus (7th). I honestly think it describes my tastes in the kind of persons I gravitate to more than my actual "loving style" hence my Venus being in the 7th. I usually go for older men who are polite and respectful and very Saturnian, yet very weird and a bit out there at the same time. It sounds like a complete contradiction, but it seems to be my case. I tend to be cautious about starting relationships and have a slight problem with being either devoted (Saturn) or the desire to just be independent and alone (Uranus).

so, Vertiver, what you're saying is you have difficulty being devoted? Or that either you're too devoted or you want to get out?

I think Saturn making an opposition to venus could show someone who swings between showing affection to seeming aloof and distant.

It could be that the opposition to venus causes the individual to bottle up feelings for a long time before eventually blowing up and throwing caution to the wind.

Because of the exertion of Saturn , one could be very picky when looking for a partner but when that partner is found, venus' overwhelming hold on the individual you are besotted with, is scary and extreme causing the person to run away from you.

I have venus forming a conjuction with Saturn in Scorpio and I am very picky when looking for someone and even when I have found that person, the affectionate side of my nature is slow to come out.I am learning to let go and love people I am with slowly(as I don't know how else to do it).

I tend to grow more passionate and attached to someone over time though....

AscTaurus,

Spot on. I don't think I could have said it better- and I have the opposition!

I especially agree with the growing alarmingly attached to someone over time. It's like a turbulent battle i have with myself when I know I want someone. "Yes, we should tell them! -Ohhhh no we shall not!"

Yeah CrabbyPatty, I either am really devoted and into a person or get cold feet and am really aloof, (no consistancy what so ever) it doesn't help that my Venus is in Gemini either. Also I never really ask questions like "what are we" or other questions related to conmitment. Since Uranus is also opositie my Venus I can't relate, Ami, about being picky. I'm not picky or at least I just get lucky, and don't have to be, lol. I definitely go either way when it comes to being affectionate. I usually need someone to instigate it first in order for me to feel secure (hello saturn) enough to give affection as well. So in that sense I'm quite cautious, but once the affection starts, it overflows.
