Jane,

quote:
To me, the dwad chart is NOT about my inner self, it is not the hidden part of myself. I don't understand where this idea came from.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, I see! I thought that was the agreed upon starting point for dwads. I've read them described as our inner nature, like they're a deeper level of our corresponding trop planet. I don't see them as that.

I am aware of how they are described, it probably had to do with the whole "zodiac inside the zodiac" thing, but it doesn't sound right that this is the premise for such a conclusion. I don't see the logic in it. That's what I meant.

quote:
When I look at my dwads, it's tempting to see them as part of my corresponding trop planet's personality. But then I realize that all the dwads that strike a chord with my personality could be explained by my regular chart instead

Go ahead, be tempted! I think you are trying to give them a different significance because the concept of dwads is somewhat newer to you, but they were there all along. If at the beginning of your astro learning you would have studied dwads before planetary aspects or houses, wouldn't you have said the same about them? That the dwads already describe your personality, so houses or aspects have to be about something else? What if they ALL describe your personality, but perhaps in different shades? I mean, there is a difference between a Gemini Sun and Mercury in the 1st or between a Gemini Venus and Venus in the 3rd.

quote:
My only personal dwad placement that doesn't match how I feel that planet is my dwad Moon in Taurus. Interestingly, in my regular chart there are no reasons for my Moon to feel Taurus-like.

I remember the way you talked about you Cap Venus a while ago, you made it sound so sensual, it seemed more like Taurus than Capricorn. Are you really sure you don't feel your dwad Taurus Moon at all?

Okay, let me give you another personal example. You said I can feel my dwad Sun-Pluto in Virgo because they are conjunct my 8th house cusp. I think it's a bit of an overstretch, but alright. Still, I cannot find a better explanation for a hobby I used to have when I was a little girl. I had a passion for Gobelin tapestry, I would sit and sew for hours, without eating or sleeping or even using the toilet. That kind of hobby requires a lot of patience and meticulousity that you wouldn't expect from a 10 year old Aries girl with 7 Fire planets. But when I saw my dwads and that conjunction in VIRGO it was one of my biggest "aha" moments in astrology. I'm sure if you'd look, you might find an explanation for that in my tropical chart, but I don't need to look for it. Dwads speak to me in symbols I can easily understand, they are very much about me and my personality, even if they don't touch anything in the tropical. They are integrated in my chart. When I think about my Sun, it is not about the "dwad Virgo level vs. the tropical Aries level", it's more like "a Virgo type of Aries Sun, on whatever level".

Jane, I do not want in any way to impose my views on you, I am trying to explain what dwads feel like to me. I can accept that we have different takes on them, but it bothers me a bit that you seem so eager to dismiss them, project those impressions on other factors or on the tropical person if it's about synastry. I just think dwads deserve more attention from you because I believe they are worthy of it.

Izo -

So that Neptune square you asked about? It's in me. T.Neptune is square my Mercury. Well, that explains a lot!

I can't decide if the square influence means:

a). Neptune's passing me some cosmic info, but my Mercury is having a difficult time putting that info into words for myself and others, or

b). The intuitive idea itself is bullsh1t.

I don't trust myself right now to choose "a" or "b." I'm like a werewolf in a full moon, except the Moon is Neptune and instead of it making me furry and fangy it's making me stoned out of my mind. Run! Save yourselves!

I'll reevaluate my present view on dwads once t.Neptune's moved on. You think a 3* orb will be ok? Should probably make it 5* just to be safe...

On the plus side, while under the influence of mind-altering Neptune, I'll be able to seriously cut back my drug budget. Neptune's telling me that with the money I save I'll be able to buy my very own live unicorn. Rides for everyone!

(((Janey)))

I'm sorry about the Neptune transit. You'll be alright, don't worry too much about it. I don't recall being too delusional under this transit. I had it at 10-11. I was very much in love for the first time (Merc rules 5th), with a Gem boy no less!

"Dwad-Sun conjunctions create intensity, often kind of either-or contacts, indifference is very rare. Because of the unconsciousness involved they can also create strong obsessions as happened, for instance, between Truman Capote and Andy Warhol. Capote and Warhol had their dwad-Suns in conjunction. When Warhol came to New York he used to stand outside Capote's house waiting for Capote to come out. "He nearly drove me crazy", wrote Truman Capote."

"One strong astrological indication of such a contact is the Sun and Moon conjunctions in dwads. Bertrand Russell and Joseph Conrad had this dwad conjunction. In their first meeting the conversation became more and more intimate, says Russell, who had never experienced anything of the kind. They felt like sinking deeper and deeper until each one found the inner fire. They looked at each other, half terrified, half dazed in being together on such an area. The feeling was all-encompassing and as strong as a passionate love. Afterwards Russell was confused and had difficulties in adapting again to daily life."

"If you add Neptune to dwad-contacts, you get deepest inner contacts possible. Carlyle and Tennyson had Sun-Neptune contact both in the radix and in dwads: Carlyle's Sun was on Tennyson's Neptune, Tennyson's dwad-Sun on Carlyle's dwad- Neptune. They used sometimes to sit for hours without a word, they just smoked their pipes. Only their eyes reflected their inner happenings. The first time they spoke was when they thanked each other for a nice evening and agreed to meet again."
