Hey Ami,
I agree Lonake is a beautiful teacher. simple and easy to understand words.
She loves him a great deal, like you said for reasons not even she understands, but he walsk in and out of her life. Each time it is aroller-coaster and leaves her miserable. They have a lot of node connections and Lonake says that it could mean that there are lessons to be learnt, painful ones even. Just can't understand why he comes out unscathed and she has her heart ripped out each time, but is not able to let go.

On an impulse I did a composite for these two people and look:

It is a pretty lopsided chart with most planets concentrated in just 2 houses.
Guess the focus for this relationship(if there will be one) will be everyday routine and shared resources.

In order to best evaluate a chart, you have to know how the people are using the chart's energy, at what level they're operating.
His chart, the one with Sun H5 conj Jupiter etc, needs a lot of room to feel "free", if you can give that to him, then things will have a better chance of turning out as you wish..But I'm not around I can't see objectively how you 2 interact, so that's difficult for me, because just basing it on your perceptions of the relationship is somewhat flawed as you're very subjective, ie: centered on the amount of pain that love can bring. So I can't give you what I would consider to be a 'full' evaluation on things.
I would say for you to talk with him about his needs for freedom, since he very much respects honesty and openness, and ask if he feels restricted. Just be honest and give him the space to state his truth without fear of judgment or loss, try to detach from any pain you feel and be open to hearing his side of things. Then decide if it's something you want to stay with or something that you want to move on from, lessons learned.
The composite shows somewhat her emotional instability with regard to the relationship. Something here is thrown off balance, you two may be moody with each other, alternating with times of excitement. And that is difficult to sustain in long term, not impossible. There can be hair trigger arguments, there's just a lot of sensitivity between you two; and if the times are right, then career ambitions are getting in the way of relating to each other as people.
