I have learned to be open for I am a neurodiversity advocate. That requires to be open about myself and my experiences. For most of my life, I kept my special education experiences and my experience with abuse by my parents to myself. It was something that I hid and ran away from. I didn't want to go down to those uncomfortable places.
As a person that started and runs a non profit organization now, there really isn't much room for privacy.

my being open is probably my Jupiter in Sagittarius in 3rd square Ascendant/Descendant and East Point/West Point

or it could be my collective nodal aspects because they have to do with being strongly connected to the collective and can indicate potential to be public figure because of that

I used to tell other people about this place, or another site I'm a part of, but then the actual thought of those people being here as well - it started to bother me. My mother and sister know about it, and occasionally visit, so I have to be careful about what I say (the reason for some of my editing), due to the possibility of my encroaching on their privacy, as well.

I remember being surprised by how many people called me a dark horse, or mysterious.. I think at times, they thought something more was going on with me, when really, nothing was - I just had nothing much to talk about - at least, that they might be interested in. Shyness factored in there, as well.

I still have the problem of not talking about things, until they get so bad or upsetting that it just spills out.. sometimes, that's important, when it involves interactions with others (relationships, their right to privacy, as I said above). Yesterday, I broke one of my rules about not posting family/private drama on Facebook, when a cousin's husband threatened my mother and my aunt. (his wife's mother - he and his son went to her doorstep, after calling her, and threatened her life. My mother called the police, and my aunt played the phone message for them.) I posted his name on Facebook + the threats, just in case anything happened. I think (and hope) he's all talk.

Anyway, there are parts of my life that just aren't there for public consumption.

both are security 'aware' .. cautious .. etc
probably add in sun-square-puto ;-/ ..
i mean .. it is .. a dangerous world out there .. ;-

as to open book ( to a greater degree with closer folk )
i'd guess aspects from 12th house moon ..
harmonius aspects to venus saturn-neptune pluto vertex vesta
and a square to bml just to keep things balanced ..

I find that I avoid telling people about me by keeping all of the focus on them. I probe and probe and probe until no stone is left unturned... but then when's it's "my turn" I nothing in exchange.

I have Sun on IC, my brother is very private and his Sun is on IC too, my mum and significant other have their Sun and Merc in the 8th they are private and secretive too.

Yes, it does seem to be primarily a water thing - house and signs.

I think it's bc of how deeply water feels and merges. You don't want to feel that with just anyone.
