My Progressed Asc has moved to Pisces not too long ago. I've just noticed Pr. Mars is conjunct my Pr Dsc and in about 4-6 months Pr. Moon will be conj Neptune in Sag. Any insight into any of this? Thanks.

I'm not big on progressions since they're so slow. Pisces will be your asc for likeever lol.
For me at least the progressions are most noticeable when signs go into critical degrees (29 degrees, or zero etc). My biggest crisis points where there was the most illumination as well is when that happened to my prog. angles and moon. I'll let you know when my p. sun goes into Scorpio in about a year

btw P Moons have pretty much been the most telling for me. 1.5 - 2 years or something to go through the sign. Enough time to create a theme and leave a dent. What sign's your P. Moon in now, T? What degree?

Thank you. And yes, I know Pisces will be my Asc for like ever now. lol Interesting comment about the critical degrees. That would explain alot as I've def been through some crisis points over the past two years. Yes, you are right about these times being illuminating too.

Yeah, i remember reading progressed moons were great "timers" when they conjuncted a planet or made another strong aspect to one. Yeah, I think they travel about a degree every two months or so, if i remember correctly. Right now P Moon is 10* Sag coming up on P MC/Neptune conjunction. That should be interesting and possibly good for my creative career.

Thanks for the insight. xoxo

Why do people use progressions at all? Don't transits serve the same purpose?

I ask because, when I look over the significant events of my life, the transits always seem to be an obvious no-brainer (falling in love=transiting Mars in my 7th house, Venus in my 5th, big eclipse, etc.)

Maybe if I learned to work with progressions better, thoough.

Surely those transits have occurred more than once.

I'm tempted to believe much in the same way 365 days is made up of 12 months, and that of 4 weeks, Transits/progressions/SRs fit into a similar scheme.

True.

Yes! That's why it's such a no-brainer. I've never, for example, started a significant relationship with someone I was really crazy about when Mars wasn't transiting my 7th house....although of course I haven't fallen in love with someone new during each Mars pass through my 7th, but that's because I was in a committed relationship for many years, the energy of that transit had to be diverted elsewhere.

What are some good ways to get better at reading progressions?

pMoon conjunct nNeptune was like being in a scary movie: talking dogs demanding sex...it was extreme.

If you're comfortable with Neptune this phase will be spiritually illuminating. If you're not ready for Neptunian energy this aspect will be confused, disorienting, and a bit frightening.

Your dreams will be profound. It's almost a given you will encounter highly spiritual people, try to learn things from them. You attracted them to help you navigate this aspect. You may also find yourself surrounded by kooky types, or in "weird" environments.

Oh dear. lol! Not exactly what I need right now. Hopefully it will play out in the most beneficial way possible and give a boost to creativity and i'll have psychic dreams etc. Don't need to be attracting anymore kooky weirdos in. lol

Thanks Nine!

PROgressions are not really that slow, except for the outer planets of course.

Pr ASC will be in a sign for about 25 years (probably depending if it is a quick or slow rising sign), SA ASC will be there 30 years. *shrugs*

Difference between progressions and transits for me is that progressions are setting a theme / a frame, while transits are the triggers of actual events.

Example:
Pr Sun conjunct natal Venus means that you will "work" on the expression of Venusian themes (be it your selfimage as a woman, love and partnership or creativity), of course this progression does last quite some time. The "hot" phase would be one degree, or even 30 minutes before exactness imo (though there is of course a "building up" phase before that).

Now these 30 minutes of orb can still last some months.

To see WHEN something actually will or could happen I believe transits are necessary. If during that time Tr Mars is conjunct 7th house ruler, or even better, natal Venus (and therefore also conjunct pr Sun), then it could very well be that one falls in love.

Of course that is only ONE example, there are many more examples.

Lucia,

which progressions did you have when you fell in love?

Anything triggering your 7th or 5th house ruler, DESC or Venus?

Great post, DD.

quote:
What are some good ways to get better at reading progressions?

Intrigue, coupled with a desire for more. Then go about looking at more charts. Start small, look at the progressed moon individually. It's the fastest moving progressed planet, and like the natal moon, is a powerhouse. Look to see who it attracts, how it behaves (how you feel) as it changes signs an forms aspects to the natal as well as the progressed chart.

Next, you may want to look at the progressed lunation cycle. This is the relationship between the pSun & pMoon. Like the monthly lunation cycle, you have four major phases; new moon, 1st quarter, full moon, 4th quarter, and other minor phases. In the progressed chart this cycle plays out over a 30 year period. True, it's slow moving, but very compelling.

From here, you may want to look at aspects within the progressed chart, and/or progressed planets in aspect to the natal chart. For example T, is about to go through pMoon conjunct nNeptune. I had this in 2008. If over 30 you've experienced this one. What, if anything, happened??

quote:
I hope not.

I should clarify, that was a dream, btw.

Thanks, these are brilliant suggestions!

In one case, I had:
-PVenus conjunct my Sun
-PMoon-Jupiter conjunct my Jupiter
-PSun conjunct my Mars
HE had:
-PVenus conjunct his Mars

In another, I had:
-PVenus conjunct my Mars
-PMars conjunct my Pluto
HE had:
-PMars conjunct his Venus
-PSun conjunct his Venus
-PMoon conjunct his Jupiter
-PVenus opposite his Moon
(Venus is his 5th house ruler, Moon is his 7th house ruler)

Well, the guy I had PVenus conjunct natal Sun with when we met is my ex...A significant relationship, but not THE love of my life. His natal Venus is exactly conjunct my natal Sun. We are still close friends.

My Sun is at 21 Leo, my Venus at 29 Cancer. Unless there's some kind of fast-moving solar retrograde coming up (lol!!), I will be long dead before I have this love-of-my-life progression.

Ah, but isn't it true that for some people, they'll never happen?

Ugh I don't like that--that if you're a Cancer Sun with a Gemini Venus or a Gemini Sun with a Taurus Venus, you'll just never find true love? Yuck.

Also for my ex-bf...it looks like he'll have pSun conjunct his natal Venus in 2015--which you say would be the time he'd meet the love of his life if he was female...but that he'll never have pVenus conjunct his natal Sun.

Am I reading this wrong?

With my OTHER ex-bf, he had pVenus on his natal Sun when I left him after 14 years. He was definitely not seeing anybody else. He has told me that it was at that moment that he realized I was the ONE love of his life, though. (I don't think this will be true at all, I think he'll meet someone who's a better match.) But it was definitely not a time when he met someone special.

No it's not true.

To me, Progressed Venus conjunct Natal Sun has very strong influence and weight, if someone was destined to meet you in that lifetime. In my case, we were destined to meet and we have known each other in past lives. I can say that he is the love of my life and I know I am his. But that doesn't mean we are going to live happily ever after. The only thing that is certain, is the love.

But it depends on people's charts, okay?

For us, Venus is a huggggeeee deal. It is the strongest planet in both of our charts.

But there are def other progressions and solar arcs that can give you a love of life.

Although, I'd say you are kind of correct, I have seen people alone who haven't experienced this. I haven't, but his Progressed aspect alone was enough to set me off. It was in exact opposition to my Sun/Moon MP!

I will say that my Progressed Vertex was exactly conjunct my natal Venus when we met and we have his Chiron in exact conjunction with my Venus.

Also, I was having a cinderella transit when we met.

My Solar Arc Venus will conjunct my Natal Sun in Cancer when I'm 24. This is suppose to be when I have my first child. Makes sense!

I have Pr Sun to Moon/Venus and South Node coming up. Pr Sun is already conjunct Pr descendant, and has been for several years now.

T, have you checked Solar Arcs? You can put your information into the program at clairvision.org, and see if anything's going on with them to planets, midpoints, etc.

When a certain someone came into my life, their Pr Venus was conjunct my Sun and that grouping (and the composite Venus between us), and their Pr Sun was conjunct my natal Moon/Venus/Node. I forget what else was going on - other than my Pr Moon to their natal ascendant, at some point.
