I don't see what's the big fuss about.

We don't use the constellations any way.

We use a tropical zodiac that is based on the northern hemisphere seasons that was adopted by Ptolemy. He did that without considering people living in the southern hemisphere.
I don't use tropical zodiac for people born in southern hemisphere.

BTW...the constellation,Ophiuchus isn't a new concept.

There are old astrology books, sites that mention Ophiuchus including its stars.
If you're into fixed stars, you would know about that stuff. Vivian Robson is one of those authors, and I have that book.
I have 2 of Bernadette Brady's books on fixed stars, and they have information on Ophiuchus. I have her fixed star astrology software program too.

Check out Diana Rosenberg's site. She has information on Ophiuchus.

also......this is the 3rd post on the constellation stuff

I think it would best to check a thread before posting to avoid posting the same exact topic

I'm not making a big fuss... I thought I would pretend to make a fuss. I don't care if I'm a Ophiuchus or a Saggie b/c no matter what I'm still who I am.

The Babylonians used 16 zodiac signs before changing it to 12. I read about it in James R. Lewis' Astrology Encyclopedia.

Wow. Interesting. Considering I said that I will add a 15th and 16th.

GLAUCUS, Have you noticed all of the members on Wrong Planet? After I joined it went from 15,000 to now over 45,000. Today I went on and there were 37,000 of the 45,000 on at the same time! After being on there for about 45 minutes the numbers went from 37,000 to over 40,300 and rising! If I didn't know any better I would think that they are being led there. I have really been helping on in THE HAVEN. That is where the suicidal aspies go. I have been busy there trying to give hope to them and it is working.

also the meanings for the constellations would be different

the meanings for the zodiac signs are based on its element, mode, and its planetary rulership

Bernadette Brady emphasized the importance of the myths when it comes to understanding the meanings of the constellations

for example, the mythology behind Libra was weighing the souls of the dead before casting judgment
Libra used to be the Scorpion's Claws

in the constellation zodiac, Cancer has nothing to do with being domestic. there was mythology about the scarab which was a symbol of transformation

that Cancer domestic stuff was based on tropical and sidereal Cancer's ruler,Moon and the 4th house

sign, mode, and planetary rulers don't apply to constellations, therefore their meanings aren't the same as the sidereal and tropical zodiacs

take for instance my Sun in Virgo constellation
it would not be interpreted as mutable earth ruled by Mercury

it would base its mythology on the Greek Goddess Demeter, the Greek Goddess of the Harvest as well as Astrea, the Goddess of Justice

Virgo constellation is often associated with Astraea, and Libra constellation is often associated with the scales that Astraea carries

Astrea means "Star Maiden", and it's the 5th discovered asteroid which also was the start of planetary classification demise of Ceres,Pallas,Juno, and Vesta. I have it prominent in my chart.

Ptolemy actually said that certain constellations had planetary influences and some parts of constellation could have different planetary influences

he assigned planetary influences to stars
for example. He said that Beta Libra star, Zuben Elschamali has the influence of Mercury,Mars,Jupiter.

The return of
"He Who Cometh In Peace"

Appeal to Wisdom
When the ears are ready for the lips,
the Teacher will appear. http://www.startistics.com/ophiuchus/ophiuchus2.htm#Wisdom

"-Throughout the legends of Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt, and particularly throughout the wondrous humanitarian career exploits of Aesclepius, God of Medicine, and Imhotep, moral-made-god, the common thread of essential primary teachings begins and ends with the Serpent of Wisdom and the Tree of Life, also sometimes called The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The price we pay for making a mistake in our powers of judgment here is life eternal and expulsion from The Primeval Garden. It's still here and so are we. From what we're told are "pre-historic times," the Elixir of Life, Soma, Amrita, The Deathless Drink, was said to reside in the blood of a monster with dragonish and snakelike features, and the ancient practitioners of occult medicine, who were anything but unsuccessful with it, have left behind many manuscripts and documented success stories which may be hard to believe, but that's because most of it is sabotaged.

Similarly, the alchemical mysteries of Life and Death from an astrological point of view are said to reside on the Zodiac in the constellation of Scorpio the Scorpion, who at some point in each of our lives is supposed to take the symbolic form of a lofty Eagle. Well, EAGLE HAS LANDED, and I don't mean on the moon; the metaphysical Eagle has landed right where he was supposed to -- in the middle of the sign of Scorpio! I'm ready to greet the newcomer. Are you?"

I think the mass media has decided to take something so oversimplified in everyday society and turned it on its head, and as a result most people are terribly confused and under educated (more than are were already).

most people I talk to have NO idea what astrology entails and only like to read the horoscopes in the back of magazines or their place mat at cheap chinese buffets

but it's so much more than that, and I think in an effort to almost modernize the zodiac, we've lost the basics.

this stuff is not new, for me it's just ridiculous that people who know nothing about it are just sucking in the information without demanding to know the facts.

on a more subjective note: no way in (you know where) am I an Aries, a laughable concept.
