makeup makeup! though i'm not versatile at all, i have an obsession.

since my life revolves around how close i can get to 1920s, the small set of my makeup items consists of mainly red, black and brown. i think now that my Venus being trined by all the planets in Aries, i'm a bit more refined with my looks lately.

i use a brown eyeliner and smudge it around the eyes, touch up my eyebrows if i want a more sophisticated look, put red paste on my cheeks and wear deep red lipstick for a little cupid's bow look. then i wear mascara. i usually water wave my hair too, though my hair is very hard to wave. i try. in the summer, since my skin is sensitive to the sun i have to wear sun-screen. and i hate how sticky i get so i also have to put powder on too.

then i put on my quaint drop-waste dress and a hat, and i'm done to go out! i almost never go out without at least the eye makeup on. i always look perfectly "arranged", according to my friends. that bit is probably my Saturn in Virgo trining my Sun.

i'm a Sagittarius AC, Sagittarius Sun, Sagittarius Venus, all Sagittarius!

i dont really use makeup. if i do its only a little powder to cover up my acne when it gets bad. every once in a while i use some C.O. Bigelow mint lip gloss when my lips get extra chappy. regular chappy just has my picking my lip all day, otherwise i don't use lipstick or lip gloss.

Interesting. 95% of the time I wear no makeup, but sometimes I get in the mood to put some on. I wear eyeliner and mascara, blackest I can find. When I'm feeling extra ambitious I'll also wear black eyeshadow but usually I wear a shimmery brown. I never wear foundation or concealer and I would never ever wear anything on my lips.

Perfume is more important than makeup for me. I am always, always wearing it.

Rising is Gemini, Venus is Scorpio.

yeah this is fun:

how do I do my makeup?

well I start with eyeliner, i usually don't wear black, but either navy or soft black or charcoal grey eyeliner

then i spread a well matching foundation evenly over my entire face (i prefer a natural or a natural matte finish, i have combination/sensitive skin)

then i apply blush (or bronzer, whatever you call it)

then I apply mascara

then I apply lipstick, i usually like to stick to soft colors that aren't too bright, muted terracotta reds are nice, im usually never wearing a true red unless its Estee Lauder double wear lipstick (now those are really red!), i like a lot of Elizabeth Arden's lipsticks also (very nice natural colors that go well with my blush

I can't wear make up because whatever I put on my skin, it burns and then I have bad break outs.

I took a modeling course and learned how to put on my make-up and when I put it on I still look great - well that's what others say.

I still have my bags of make-up but I figure now it's kids play stuff. My oldest girl is slowly coming to a phase where she might be wanting to wear make-up.

So I am Au Natural.

I don't know how to apply makeup. I've been practicing with eyeliner, and other basic things. I'm trying to learn more but most guides are confusing and I want to make sure it looks nice and not end up looking like a clown lol.

I am Capricorn Rising Venus in Libra and i generally love deep romantic colors like deep red and even black :3. I don't wear colored makeup really(except red) but I love black eyeshadow; if I wear any makeup, that's about it or a deep black or red lipstick. I don't really like makeup because I am beautiful without it and I don't wear eyeliner because I have pretty defined almond eyes :3 x3 I just love the romantic feel like I said before; those are the only two types of makeup i'll ever wear.

What's your rising and Venus sign? And anything else you find important.

Stumbled on this topic, decided to bump it up to contribute.

Well I'm an Aquarius Rising, Venus in Leo.

I'm torn between loving make up and hating it. I'm a Libra therefore I adore creating beautiful things, turning my face into a work of art. But the Aquarian in me like's to go bare and natural. I actually didn't start wearing any makeup at all until my last year of high school, one of my older sisters used to like to do my make up for fun.

To work and when I leave the house if I'm not in my Aquarian mood of wanting to go bare, which is every other day, I wear black eyeliner on the upper lid and black mascara and nothing else but clear lip balm . It has become my staple.

When ever I do makeup I focus on my eyes because I think they're beautiful, they shimmer when the light hits them. Nowadays I'm more connected to my Venus in Leo energy therefore whenever I have something worth getting dressed up for I glam it up. And I grace it up because of my Libra Sun. I never overdue it, I make sure my face is balanced with not too much going on. I don't like to draw attention to my self. It's always elegant but simple.

I am obsessed with having a clear flawless complexion (I don't, but I try!) so I drink lots of water and cleanse & moisturise twice a day. When I do use make up it's serious business but I definately apply the less is more approach, I make it appear as though I have very little on. Natural beauty is way more appealing I think.

I do light stuff; not make-up but a basic lightly-colored foundation. I love to do my eyes but hate eyeliners. Always playing with different shadow colors but never the browns always the bright greens and blues. On the lips anything that adds moisture; I don't do red color, yuck. More subtle, mat colors appeal to me on the lips. I usually go light as it goes a long way (fair skin, fair hair here). And I never do it when at home where a face and lip moisturizer are just plenty msot of the times. I just like to "color" me when I go out.

Edit: I do like eyeliner, but only in thick pencils which usually are best for giving eye shadows. I guess I'm peculiar about eyeliners. I also don't like them easily on others (only certain types; most people use too much I think). Weird, eh?

I was Ke$ha at a Halloween party last night.
I wore a crazy blonde wig, put eye primmer on my eyelids...and placed green glitter on them from lash line to under my brows. Then some obnoxiously winged out eye liner. Some black eye shadow to smudge my liner a bit.

And I had BLUE lips! I used light blue liquid liner to outline my lips and fill them in. Then some blue eye shadow powder over it,then some blue glitter goopy body glitter over it.

ha will have to post a pic of that.

I love makeup! I love buying it, I love looking at it. Wearing it though, that is something different entirely. I actually have a pretty long history with make-up though…

I first started wearing it in the 7th grade, at age 12, which was when I was allowed to start wearing it to school. The catch was – I had to buy it myself. I did little odd jobs for my grandmother and aunts and uncles to get $5 here and there, I usually got about $10 a week.

The first thing I remember wearing was Kissing Koolers lip gloss by Maybelline. It had barely any pigment but it left a nice gloss. My favorite was Very Berry because it was pink and purple. Kissing Potion (Cherry) was also a favorite but it was too sticky, they have really improved on the lip gloss formula. The lips were nothing compared to my eyes…

Since I didn’t have much money but I insisted on wearing a full face of make-up (almost), I had to buy my eye makeup from the discount or “value” stores. This was the early 90s so the colors that were popular were very bright so the colors that were in the dollar stores of those days were even brighter! I usually stuck with the dark stuff though, like royal blue and grape purple eyeshadow. My favorite was a green on green on green combo – forest green eyeshadow and Wet and Wild liner and Kelly green mascara! A classmate even asked me “Are you wearing green mascara?” even though she was being snide I liked standing out, it didn’t bother me.

I didn’t like lipstick and I still don’t really. Although they had some mood lipstick in the discount store once so I bought a green one and a blue one. The blue would turn a lovely Pepto pink and the green would turn into a bright fuchsia, no matter what mood I was in. I decided to wear the green to my second day at a new school in 7th grade. A guy friend (a Scorpio)that I had known since 1st grade was at this school too and he took me aside and said “you shouldn’t wear that lipstick because it makes you look like a s!ut , and you are not a s!ut ”! LOL! I threw that junk out right away, but I had a Caboodle full of other inappropriate colors. Over time it got toned down, I could actually afford the good, mainstream colors. In high school I just did my eyes and wore Blistex Liptone instead of lipstick (I always hated lipstick). So I had these enormous raccoon eyes (now called “smoky eyes”) and pale lips, I was ahead of my time. I just wanted to look older because I had been told my entire life that I “look so young” and I have “such a baby face”. Blech. (I also wore lots of Malibu Musk and Tribe!)

Now at 32, I want to look as innocent as I possibly can! In my 20s I wore make-up just to check the mail now I only do a daytime face (lighter eyes) for work and a nighttime face (darker eyes) for going out. I try to experiment with different shadow colors, like plums and aquas for night but I have heavy lidded eyes so it doesn’t look as good as I’d like it to. So although my make-up drawer is full of stuff I would love to wear I stick with my two shade of brown shadow (MAC Omega and Espresso), Maybelline Great Lash mascara (Very Black, curved brush), dark brown eyeliner and either Cover Girl Lipslicks in Hipster or L’oreal Infallible lip gloss in Truffle. I don’t wear blush that often because my cheekbones are very high and prominent so I don’t need it. Plus a year ago I started wearing Bare Minerals foundation (Medium Tan, lol). It all actually looks better faded, when I come home after work. I wish I could do it all fade-y to begin with but it never works! I have always had great application skills though. I remember my friend wanted me to give her a tutorial but I didn’t, it is a secret between me and my mom, who taught me (I knew that Moon conjunct Pluto was good for something!). Oh and nail polish in any and every shade of pink. OPI Not So Bora-Bora-ing Pink is my absolute favorite though. Does fragrance count also? I wear any kind of body spray in the vanilla-oriental-sweet family for day to day and used to wear Pink Sugar for special occasions but I have upgraded to Angel by Thierry Mugler…

Saw this had been bumped and wanted to recomment because it's interesting how much my grooming habits changed since last April... I thought I was low-key before... no. Now, I just sponge on foundation, and mascara and go. I think the less make-up someone wears the more secure they are in the their skin, although I don't judge either way 'cause it's an art form all the same.

Gemini venus, Aquarius rising (but my Aries sun and moon seem to influence them a lot).
I used to expirement with makeup when younger (like middle and highschool, before I graduated highschool very young & early)...I would cake on the foundation, expirement with foundation types (like liquid, cream, mousse, blah blah blah)...did raccoon eyes and egyptian eyes and even drew on beauty marks with black eyeliner. I went crazy with makeup (I've always been a crazy person). Okay, now I've gotten more knowledgeable and sophisticated on makeup, so my beauty routine is- I also don't wear makeup EVERYDAY. Lately I've been around the house all day, so I don't wear any, or tinted moisturizer. But at parties, going out, hanging out with people, trying to impress the dudes- I get experimental.
A simple, clean & lightweight foundation (usually oil based) like a CoverGirl foundation, and set it afterwards with a loose, transcluscent powder. If I have a blemish (usually have really good skin though) I'll apply a concealer.
I don't do eyeliner unless I'm doing something where I HAVE to wear a bunch of makeup or being expiremental? It's really easy to go overkill with eyeliner on my face for some reason, and it makes my eyes look too dark and intense, plus I'm really blonde so I look like a skank ^_^
NEVER do lipstick, unless it's pink. Or tinted gloss tinted with pink shades.
Eyeshadow- I try all kinds of colors, combinations, effects. I notice Youtube is a good source for learning new stuff.
I always keep pink or purple eyeshadow on hand.

I wash my face with a moisturizing wash, and then use a heavy face moisturizer at night, and occasionally exfoliate with baking soda (works better than any expensive exfoliator I've ever used :P)

uuuuhmmm I can't put makeup on right. I don't know how and I never really wore makeup in high school. I can't stand wearing foundation/powders it makes my face feel weeeeird like if I make an expression i feel the stuff on me! haha So i don't ever wear makeup maybe for Halloween I will. I like wearing lipstick or gloss though that's easy! I really like makeup though and the idea of it and all the pretty colors @_@ I think I'm more interested in the technical aspects of applying it and trying to transform faces like special effects makeup that would be cool to learn! But I'm really bad at actually putting makeup on me or anyone. I'm more of a nail polish person!

I wear a full face of sheer foundation, a little blush, grey or black winged eyeliner..black mascara..sometimes smokey eye shadow. i used to play with colorful eyeshadow but i've toned it down as i've grown older. i'm pretty good with makeup and like to focus on my eyes. i NEVER wear lip makeup. my lips are naturally pink enough.

my signature colors are black & grey, and sometimes dark purple/plum.

I want to get bare minerals foundation...cause its better for my skin right?...compared to chemically ones...

Since I'm 21 I don't do too much of that moistening stuff...but I put hand lotion on my face after a shower sometimes. They say it's good to start that stuff while your young....so I try to do little things like that sometimes.

cool Niki, I think I've tried every eye shadow color except for red.

I did did take a orange/coral/brick red lip liner...and use it as eye liner...my mom was like like "oh Kerry, your make up...You look like a vampire..." lmao

"I also have the lipstick brand Hemp. It's an organic one made from of course hemp, beeswax and other stuff. I have the color "purple haze" heehee. It's a lighter purple color.
