well, we shere with Aya that i, too commit slowly and it's not a "light-hearted" process for me. plus, i have (almost) all the planets and positions that point towards being reserved, shy, oversensitive, dark mood, etc. i keep these tendencies under control, but you can only change so much.
as a general rule, i'm not a master of social interactions (again, i'm not helped by being the said things), but when i find a similar soul, it's usually immediate attraction, without words.

You are a cutie

If Merc is in the 7th--you need a relationship like breathing. You feel incomplete without it.
If it is in the 8th,it would be like Snarly.
What do you think

Makes sense.You would not need a homebody.You would need a traveler--mentally,spiritually and perhaps physically,too.
You need someone to share 9th house concerns with.

but I thought Snarly had mercury in the 9th?

i usually use pladicus anyway, so we'll go with 7th. For the longest time all I wanted was a relationship. I'm 25, and I have spent a grand total of 7 months in a relationship. I find that nowadays I'm not constantly yearning to be with someone. I decided that if I'm going to be as picky as I am with men, it serves no good to waste energy wishing and longing for a relationship. I think saturn opposite venus comes into play here as well.

Oh Sorry Northernlad
I got confused .OK--from your last post.I think your Mercury is in the 7th.
I am the same way.I feel incomplete if I don't have a partner.
Flings and short romances(5th house) are not for me lol

Descendant is Sagittarius.
Ruler Jupiter is in Libra in the 6th, conjunct Venus.

I have no idea what my needs are concerning relationships lol.

Someone a bit Virgo-like I presume, modest, intellectual, service-oriented. NOT critical though

If it is reversed. The ASC ruler in the 7th. You make your needs second to the partners.

I actually wouldn't say that. I have moon in 7th and also recent experience made me realize how much I push my own needs to the background to make room for those of my partner. It's just that when push comes to shove I will always try to be self-sufficient and as independent as possible. That is something that a few of my previous partners couldn't deal with because it confused the hell out of them, they just never knew whether I loved them or not.

The absolute most important qualities I look for in a man is that I can have intellectual and high standing conversations with him, can filosophise (sp?) with him, that he is understanding and has the ability to give me freedom. I'm feeling a Gemini and Sagittarius influence there rather than the 1st house influence. In return, ironically enough, I would give myself to that man completely.

A man who is well mannered is probably something that most women want, because I can't imagine a woman not caring about the fact that her husband always drinks too much at family gatherings and makes a fool of himself. Before that I didn't care about that much, I naively believed that love is enough, but after my last ex I've realised just how embarrasing it can be to live with someone who is antisocial and badly mannered. Especially when I have to deal with all the bad family feedback and find myself making excuses for someone who doesn't really deserve it. I just can't imagine any woman happily dealing with that for years on end.

And when you step into a relationship, one rule does count: if you don't want to be around my family, you don't want to be around me. I do make exceptions for relatives that I don't like to be around myself

Strange though that with absolutely no 4th house connections to the 7th house, it's inhabiting planets or my 7th house ruler (4th house is in Pisces and Neptune only aspects Venus) I find it so important that my partner gets on with my extended family...

Sagittarius DC so Jupiter which is in my 11th house of associations. Very interesting because my ex had his south node in Aquarius (his comfort zone) He was all about friends and had a strong social network. I know a lot of people but am a bit of a loner

Ami your so fun and awesome for doing this!

My DC is in Saggitarius ruling Jupiter in Cancer in the 2nd house.

With that cobo I'm guessing I want someone who I can go on adventures with, that can afford it. Va-va-VOOM! Kind of life. But is also full of knowledge, and give me a secure and beutiful home life. And is sensual.

Yep, thanks Ami.
What do you think about Capricorn and 7th house?
Maybe that woman would like a stable relationship, but giving more attention at work?

Well Aya
These house rulers are one layer of the puzzle ,only.
We have not put in planets, aspects to planets, aspects to planets that rule houses etc.
This is a slice of the complicated soup only for fun and learning purposes

Ok Lunatic
This is what I have. They need a partner to be fufilled. They feel lost without that significant other in a committed relationship
A fling or short term romance will not do it for this placement. They want a partner lol

That will be the characteristics you want in a partner/partnership.

For example,Taurus is the sign on the 7th house cusp.Venus rules Taurus .Venus is in the 7th house.
This means committed relationships are very important to me.
Please share

Cancer is the 7th house cusp. My moon is in the 11th house. I will fall in love with a friend?
