Then, tell me which house the 7th house cusp's ruling planet is in.
That will be the characteristics you want in a partner/partnership. For example,Taurus is the sign on the 7th house cusp.Venus rules Taurus .Venus is in the 7th house.
This means committed relationships are very important to me.

Well,you want your partnership to revolve around the home. You and he would stay home and do things at home like watch movies etc
A perfect date would be one in which you cuddled up on the coach or had a nice meal in your home.
If your partner was not in to this,it would be very hard for you cuz this is part of what partnership means to you.------------------

My 7th house cusp is in Gemini. Mercury is in the 1st house.Does that mean I look for a male version of myself in a partner or that I want my partner to give their undivided attention to me, or that I want my partner to worship me? ------------------

Virgo in the cusp
Mercury in 10..I may be demanding "perfection" but Since my venus in sagittarus in 9, İ want a partner who can expand my horizans and outgoing,fun,social and lucky. I think venus traits are more prominent than Mercury traits... I mean my partner does not have to be related to my fame and carerr or status.. dunno maybe it will important for me in the future.

This is really interesting Aya.
You want to look good from your partner. You may not want a partner that much for who he is.
You want a partner as one wants a gold watch or diamond earrings--to wear and look good.
For you,your partner has to submit to you not vice versa as the reverse house placement would be.
You want him to put his desires under your own.
PS I know this sounds bad . We,all, have good and bad in our chart.It does not mean you have to ACT on it but the basic energies are such lol

It doesn't ring entirely true. I don't see partners as posessions, but I do tend to go for partners who are good looking or good mannered so that I won't feel embarrased for them when out, of course.Apart from that, I'm actually a bit restrained when it comes to partners. I don't commit easily if at all and I'm very independent and often take that habit of mine into relationships, too. Much to the annoyance of said partners, actually  ------------------

You want a partner who is solid ,stable and has a good career.
You could not deal with a flighty,fly by night partner.
You want to be able to count on her as one counts on a solid rock type of person.
Also,you would like to elevate your won status through a partner,too.

hmmm, since my ascendant is pisces, i am sure i need a partner that i need to count on her =)), Because i can't rely on or count myself easily.... Due to being young, i love one night-stands and can have a open relationship with them - flighties-. But as the time goes by and i grow up, i am coming to what you said.. So it seems true.. But i want sagittarius traits as well... Sag traits may be considered as " flighty" in youth but still it is close it.. This was what I meant ,too. Your partner must be second your needs.
You need this.You must find someone who will/can do this,too.
If it is reversed. The ASC ruler in the 7th. You make your needs second to the partners.
