Is there anyone who can help me guess someone's rising sign? I know it's a long shot....
There's this Pisces I know... he thinks he was born in the morning sometime lol! I've looked up his birth date and if he was born a.m., that would mean his rising sign could be;
Sagittarius
Capricorn
Aquarius
Pisces
Aries
Taurus
Gemini
I am completely new to all of this so have no idea if anyone can help me work it out...
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks...

Yeah, there are a bunch of professionals who can rectify the chart, though they will likely charge a fee.

In order to rectify, first you need to know how to do astrology. If you know how to do astrology, you know how to rectify as there are 'signatures' for these types of things. A methodical way of knowing what to look for in the case when someone dies, gets married, has a child etc etc.

Jounia, post a picture if he agrees. Or describe him, physically as well as some general psychological features.

I wouldn't even bother unless you want to have someone very knowledgeable rectify the chart for you. Even if you get the sign of the ascendant, you won't know the ASC degree/the rest of the house cusp degrees, which is important in synastry (I'm assuming that's why you'd want to know what his rising sign is).

Posting his picture here won't do you any good.

To be honest, I'm not particually interested in comparing his chart to mine. I'm just curious, that's all

Ok, well I don't have a picture
I'll describe him, not sure that all of it will be relevant but I want to give as much info as possible.
But he's very slim, not too tall - i'd say probably 5'6"/5'7" (168cm). He has got very light eyes - bluey green. They are almond shaped, quite small and deep set. His nose is well sculptured and quite thin. I'd say his face was oval or heart shaped. Over all, very pleasing on the eye I would describe his looks as 'strong' or possibly 'striking'. His lips are quite thin, great set of teeth....
His hair is dark brown, straight, he wears it quite choppy with a bit of gel to form it and give it texture.
Psychological features...
He's very young at heart - he resembles a small child sometimes when he giggles and puts his hand of his mouth like he's just said something that's made him shy...
He likes adventure, he LOVES music, likes sports and excercising. He has a very laid back attitude. He is quite open about his fantatsies and doesn't seem embarrased to show his emotions, although it's not often that he does....
The one thing that really strikes me about him is that he seems quite vain. He is not vain in the sense that he's big headed, but vain in the sense that if I see him, he'll put his hand over his cheek to stop me from seeing a spot or blemish that's come up, and before I've even asked what he's covering, he'll tell me! He's not ashamed to admit he has floors, but he's embarrased to show them. I think he's really quite obsessed with his appearence, but by obsessed I mean he feels he has to be perfect and any little mark or spot will ruin him!
What else can I tell you?!
I've rattled on... someone else's turn!

Ps - he's very quick witted, if I say something, he could reply immediatly with something funny.

He 'thinks' he was born in the morning which would rule out Libra....

Yeap, Libra came to mind even before reading the last paragraph

Then I thought that your description may be subjective (a Leo Venus would find a Leo ascendant very "pleasing on the eye" for instance). But after everything you wrote, my best guess is Libra.

Does he use the expression "on the other hand" a lot? Maybe has dimples somewhere?

Yes, I found the thread - my memory is not good. Does any of this apply? (I'm copy pasting from another thread here).

Libra rising produces a rounded, ovate head that is normally smallish unless altered by planets or other factors. Even the chin tends to be rounded and with a dimple or cleft.

The energy is initiating and persuasive, people smart and people-pleasing, aesthetic and tactile, more cerebral than its fiery counterpart, Aries. The voice can be especially soft or smooth (unless fire factors significantly energize things).

The eyes and mouth are generally well-shaped and attractive, even if they are not models or beauty queens. The eyes are generally light, and in Caucasians can be of mixed color (blue-green). The skin is normally smooth, soft, and complexion good. One characteristic that can often determine a genuine Libra rising is a swayback. It is as if they are holding back their vulnerabilities and it becomes a permanent posture. Another contrasting feature with Scorpio is that the shoulders tend to be more rounded or the body lighter boned. They have good taste and want to enjoy the good life. These people are lovers and people-oriented, initiating friendships easily. Their charm and easy-going approach to people makes an impression. However, many are either indecisive or changeable, or love to argue for kicks. The women especially will adorn themselves and know how to increase their attractiveness with bangles, jewelry and clothing. They can be people-pleasers, indulgent, procrastinating. They lead by persuasion. The men (and some women) often have a knack for mechanical things, machines, computers, etc.

Venus – attractive, beautiful complexion and may have dimpled cheeks or cleft in chin.

hmm, definitely no dimples... no, he doesn't say 'on the other hand...' in fact I can't think of any saying that he tends to use often. He likes to crack jokes and mock what I say by repeating it in a whiny voice...oh and if corrosponding via email he will almost never anwser any questions that I'd thrown in to my previous email. Even when I confront him about not anwsering them he still avoids anwsering by writing something like 'oh, I thought it was a statement' (when it clearly wasn't!) or 'I didn't see your question...I'm trying to anwser your messages the best I can'
Funny really, if you Google Kevin Richardson formally of the Backstreet Boys, I'd say that he looks similar to him in the respect that his features are quite defined and chiseled. Oh and Kevin Richardson is a Libra...

Deux*Antares, are you saying he probably is, or are you ruling that one out? Either way, why?

Thanks!

If it does matter; there are definitely some things that do NOT count for his ASTRO-TWIN (born on the same day/year) with ASC-LEO.

Like this;

- puts his hand of his mouth like he's just said something that's made him shy...

- he'll put his hand over his cheek to stop me from seeing a spot or blemish that's come up, and before I've even asked what he's covering, he'll tell me!

- he has to be perfect and any little mark or spot will ruin him!

- THIN lips

- likes sports and excercising

- not too tall (he's quite the opposite and 168cm sounds very short to me - european perspective I guess)

- the entire eye description

- HEART shaped face

(the other things written in your 03;34 PM post are quite the same!)

Keyword for this one; tattoo's (longing for full sleeve tattoo) definitely something Leo-asc Like!

I was thinking about a VERY obvious trait which we can prob. relate to their Moon-sign (his twin's Taurus-Moon) - his SENSE PERCEPTION is extremely high, in this regard he really does notice EVERYTHING around him, well that's at least very obvious to a Scorp-Moon like ours ofcourse

If he has a Libra-asc. (I can go with that) he would have a Gem-Moon in the first 3 degrees..

Thanks for that

So it seems like the general concensus is that he has probably got a libra rising.
Interesting, since that would mean he was born between 8:30-11:05pm and he thinks he was born in the morning

One more thing I thought I'd mention is this;
we send each other a lot of emails. If I write to him, he might ignore my email for half a day or so, but if he writes to me and I haven't replied within 5 minutes, he's climbing the walls and sending me messages such as 'what's happened, why aren't you writing?!'

Any more thoughts, anyone?

Well, at first I just go for what the first impression of someone is.

For example: someone who is young-looking, or child-like in a way, and I already know the estimated time of birth (here in Belgium it always requires some rectifying, because it's only in the last 20 years that the time is accurately penned down, so anyone I meet around my age will always have either a rounded off time of birth or even a completely incorrect one!) puts the rising at either Taurus or Gemini, I'm going to go towards Gemini rather than Taurus.

Of course, it depends on the rest of the placements whether the person might simply be child-like and young looking regardless of where their rising is. I always look at the placements of planets too, and house rulers etc - although house rulers are quite relative, depending on what house system you use.

I don't often use the method of placing birth, marriage and other major events on the chart and rectifying that way, but I have seen it work, though. I think both methods can be equally successful, the only problem is that for my method, you as a person have to be as objective as possible, which is hard enough for anyone as it is. It is of course not as objective as the other method, but even if you can't be too objective, it does give you an estimation of where the rising could be.

What would you say from my description is typical of his sun sign, Pisces?
What rising signs could we rule out?

I honestly don't really have the time to focus on that yet (am practicing my french for a test), but I promise I will check later on, hopefully tonight!

What I could ask you in the mean time is: what was your very first impression of him? Does it match with the first impression that others seem to have of him?

Thanks so much
My very very first impression of him, before I really knew him, was that he was quite shy and serious, always in a hurry.

Since getting to know him, I'd say he was quite child like, laid back, up for adventure, will avoid arguments, but isn't afriad to speak his mind if he thinks he's being hard done by.

Always in a hurry made me think of mercury conjunct rising. I have the same thing and seem to have the same impression on others, too!

Shy could be a negative sign (or female), because they tend to be more introspective than the positive natured signs. Serious could be capricorn, which does also happen to be a negative sign... But a Pisces sun can hardly have Mercury in Capricorn, since the furthest they can be away is 28°. If he does have Mercury conjunct the rising, I would be tempted to think Pisces rising, but I'll have to have a look to see where exactly his Mercury (or other planets, for that matter) is!

Better get back to practicing for my french verbs

Ok so just to add some more info, without his birth time, the rest of his chart looks like this;
Sun - Pisces
Moon - (either Taurus or Gemini)
Mercury - Aquarius
Mars - Gemini
Jupiter - Aries
Saturn - Cancer
Uranus - Scorpio
Neptune - Sagittarius
Pluto - Libra
