I wonder.

I think someone who is into some of the harsh heavy metal must have some things going on, compared to someone who listen to really spacey stuff.

I bet one can find patterns.

List favorite style of music and some of the most prominent placements and aspects in chart. Maybe...top 3 planets and/or signs in chart, as far as strength, and aspects that stand out to you as well as planet and house planets.

i have noticed a pattern between suns and music...like taurus and scorpio likes the dark metal and hard rock kind of stuff and i'v noticed aries likes heavily rhythmic stuff but no particular genre...cancer, naturally, likes the emotional, heartfelt kind of music, the kind that really touches the soul...i think gemini would generally be eclectic

I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

taurus sun- i like a nice voice in almost any style as long as i like the voice. could be trance, hiphop, rock, pop etc..

i'm not into lyrics so much. also how awesome a guitar player is. i wouldn't/ don't understand how hard it is to pull of some of those melodies.

i'd say i'm more into spacey music than heavy metal.

umm.. dunno where it comes from taurus sun, leo moon, scorpio asc.

i kinda hate live music. i get really bored sitting there watching a few guys play.

There are a lot of very good underground music though, and for those with good taste, lots of it is better than mainstream. As soon as I learned not to judge the music itself by the fans (who are indeed pretentious) who listened to it, I learned to appreciate it. I love "indie music" (as vague as that is) but the fans are often pricks ... But I can separate the two because some of the music is very good.

Also, there is actually a beauty to some "noise" and it can be very complex and takes skilled musicians. Then again, some people do not get free jazz either and I can understand most people just need the conventional 2-3 minute pop songs. But I personally get easily bored of that stuff.

I just judge the music by its own merits, no need to go to the concerts.

I'd add, yah, most bands can't "choose" their fans. If I were to form a band I'd be underground to have a better chance of integrity and ownership of my music, but would be like "damn pretentious hipsters" under my breath but wouldn't outright tell them off. But that's probably who I'd attract..oh well.

2. I wouldn't exactly call noise music.."**** ", it is just musicians doing something different instead of the same tired formula. Not for everyones ears but I figure my ears (and taste palette for that matter) are ..like really evolved or at least differently evolved. I would say these guys, musically are more talented than most mainstream, they just choose to go way out in left field with the talent:

I love Mah. Orchestra but I would not call SManeesh screamo in the least.

I listen to 40-60% instrumental most days, post rock = glorious, as is lots of fusion.

Ambient, IDM, downtempo, there are some great musicians in that area of music too.

actually i'd say the music was really really good in these places. really talented folks. the whole live thing just doesn't click with how i want to socialize. some big concerts look fun for 3 minutes in the dvd LOL but i'm not sure i'd like to be in the middle of all that. i guess you hafta go to buy their cd's since they have no label backing them too. though i think the good ones eventually find one.

Seeing bands live is over rated IMO.

You are usually stuck way back, behind some tall dude

$5+ drinks, 16 ounces or less
$50+ tics, triple digits if they are famous
2-3 hours tops..maybe 4.
No memory (as cameras are often not allowed)

One of the best exp. I had was with this obscure (at the time) jam band/jazz band by the name of Umphreys Mcgee from Chicago. They came out of nowhere (at least for me) and just tore up the place (in a good way, meaning: it was powerful good stuff). They were highly worth seeing but sadly, they were 1 of 6 bands and had, like, 1 hour set or something. For some reason Chicago turns out a lot of really solid bands that do really interesting things.

Lol this is pretty accurate. I only enjoy classical because I have played the piano for 20 years. But I mostly listen to punk and/or indie music.

I have a lot of water signs and oppositions, so nervous energy and anxiety. Also, punk music focuses on the underdogs of society, so I can dig it.

I usually hate concerts too, unless it's a band that I know all the songs of. I get so bored (unless I'm drunk). I hate big venues because it's harder to get drunk/see the actual band. I like house shows and small clubs. I think the Black Cat in DC is the best venue. Just the right size.

I like all sorts of things. I took that quiz and got:
26 % 26 % enjoys reflective and complex music
92 % 92 % enjoys edgy and aggressive music
19 % 19 % enjoys fun and simple music
75 % 75 % enjoys energetic and upbeat music

Which isn't exactly accurate because I do like reflective/complex music, I just f*cking hate jazz. M83 is my favorite act right now and I would say he's immensely reflective/complex.

I don't really like "simple" music. Like most indie pop is really boring to me (like Matt & Kim is the first thing that comes to mind when I think "BORING"). When I was younger I hated punk music because it was too simple, but I've grown to love it because of the lyrics.

Anyway, here are my favorite bands/artists:
M83, Beach House, Bjork, The Knife/Fever Ray, Saves the Day, Daft Punk, Blood Brothers, Circle Takes the Square, Converge & Jenny Lewis (also Justin Bieber).

See, it's all over the place.

Here's also my last.fm: http://last.fm/user/greyleng

I'm an Aqua Sun/Mercury with a Pisces Venus, Libra Moon, Gem Rising.

Yah, I think screamo is ****

Some screamo is really good, though. Like Circle Takes the Square (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEV6V5tSuDI), Orchid, Saetia, Suis La Lune, La Quiete, Funeral Diner, Pg 99, etc.

I'm so excited, I'm actually seeing Pg 99 (which is a big deal because they've been broken up) and Converge in August
