quote:
Though it depends which planet comes next. Definitely a difference if that Moon is coupled with Venus and Jupiter or with Saturn and Pluto.[quote]

comes next? i think it's pluto. my moon is in tenth pluto is n 12th so counterclockwise that would be it.

it has a lot of squares to it. apex of 2 t-squares. pluto h12-moon h10-venus h7 and pluto h12-moon h10-merc h6.

[quote]That, no matter how lighthearted you may be in other areas, the area of sexuality is a serious one for you.

yeaahh that's very true for me. tho i should really try to be more light in that area. h8 gemini w/ north node, chiron, juno there. oh well long way to go.

quote:
Saturn there also gives a more focused, earthy sensuality. (But whereever Saturn is there often is an tendendy to either suppression or compensation; I tend to suppress and being extremly shy in this regard, to the point of being blocked, but for others it may be different).

yeah me too i'm more on the suppress side of things at least initially. also not as easy for me to find partners i connect with in at least more than 1 area.

quote:
"off topic but is this kind of how you do ruler of houses with planets?"
Yes.

cool always wanted to know how to do that! i should try it on all of my houses. but there are no generic interps you can read from right?

Ceri, a few questions:

-what about incercepted houses? I counted those too, because for instance, I identify to some extent to Aqua Asc, having Aqua intercepted. I also counted the intercepted ruler. I also counted aspects to angles, not just the conjunctions. Was I bad?

-why did you chose the 5th house for sexuality and not the 8th, or both?

For my bf I was expecting to see some higher scores for his sexual identity, because I think it is his most prominent one. But instead, the highest score was Mercury, with 5 pts and the rest were so low... And it doesn't feel right.

Sand,

"ho i should really try to be more light in that area."
Why should you?
I think it is more about finding a Saturnian modus that you feel comfortable with. I don´t think you can change yourself into a Jupiter-Uranian person in this regard, but you can find expressions of your Saturn that make you feel more at ease.

"lso not as easy for me to find partners i connect with in at least more than 1 area."
The 5th house also plays a role in what you are attracted to initially in a partner. So I think it is unlikely you will feel attracted to the typical fun-types, who take a one night stand lightly for example.
It just wouldn´t agree with you personalitywise.
Though of course very different peoople can fascinate us, but it probably would be difficult to maintain a mutually satisfying relationship if the differences are too big.

"but there are no generic interps you can read from right?"
Well, there are, I think. At least of houserulers in other houses.
But usually I am not too convinced of them.
But we know the symbolism of the planets and houses and signs, and that is really all we need to interprete them on our own.

Hera,

"-what about incercepted houses?"
Those are fully counted.

"I also counted aspects to angles, not just the conjunctions. Was I bad? "
That is an area I am still thinking about. If we use the aspects to ASC and MC though, we would have to use aspects to the other cusps as well.
Personally I think conjunctions are most clearly seen. This may also be because these are not really planets but rather calculated points.
But as I said I am not totally sure myself. Maybe the other aspects should be included here as well.

"-why did you chose the 5th house for sexuality and not the 8th, or both?"
Because I was checking for sexual selfexpression, and that is found in the 5th house.
The houses under the horizon relate with your SELF, very individual, even though with the 5th house there begings an orientation towards a partner as well, but still from the SElf-perspective.

The 8th house is linked to sexuality, as well, but sexuality WITHIN a (committed) relationship.

the gender planet and 5th house connection have actually more to do with your "gender identity", which also manifests in sexual terms.

For a complete sexual profile, including the behaviour in sexual relationships and not just as form of selfexpression, I would check the 5th house and the 8th house definitely.

BTW Hera,

I ´see all categories as equal, no matter how much their overall score would be.
These scores just show the distribution of planets in one category.

But everyone has a general identity or emotional nature or a mental Self.
The distribution of scores and planets just shows if there is a certain disbalance within a category or if there are more influences.

For example, if you look at my gender identity Saturn is pretty high followed by Pluto (and Mars), but there is not really all that much more going on.
It just means that I am a very focused person in that regard; I am Saturn-pluto, and nothing else, and I pretty much WANT Saturn-Pluto and nothing else.
So for someone to "reach" me they would have to have pretty high Saturn-Pluto-vibes; all others would simply slip under my radar, so it is quite logical why I do not fall in love that easily. There are just not that many people who "fit".

i actually feel that in your bf`s chart this category is a very interesting one, because there are so many planets mingling in. I mean there are 7 of 10 possible planets connected to his sexual identity!
(I tend to neglect those with 2 and less points).

It means that he might have "different faces" when it comes to his sexual expression. He has kind of more choice as I seem to have, which might lead to a stronger curiosity in wanting to try out things; the fact that Mercury is among these planets, definitely would speak for some kind of sexual curiosity and more openness than other people might have.
I guess he would like sex a lot.
Different kinds of sex. Styles with a darker, more intense vibe (Saturn-Moon-pluto: 9 pts together) as well as a playful curiousity (mercury- Jupiter: 8 pts) or the more dreamy fantasy-oriented version (Moon- Neptune-Jupiter 9 points).

You can also see that the more "difficult" energies, Saturn, Pluto and Neptune (and Chiron) are there as well with 9 points; it seems that people who score higher in that regards, are often more "extreme" or experience sexuality in a more extreme way.

I haven´t included Chiron in my scoring, because Chiron cannot be a houseruler, though I think some give him rulership over Virgo, right?

I think it may be important nevertheless. Chiron appears in my 4th house and sextiles my Moon, and definitely makes itself known in my emotional nature.

I have that wonderful book "intimate relationships - the astrology of attraction" with various articles about relationships, and want to quote Jeff Jawer`s article "the paradoxes of intimacy here":

"The 5th house lies below the horizon and is thus associated with a precess of self-expression. [...] It is a performance, a way in which the youthful heart expresses itself."
(It is the Leo-house after all).

It impressed me probably because I was happy to find someone having put to paper what I had concluded myself before.

Summarizing what I wrote myself on these houses, and still believe this to be true:

"
But the "real" relationship houses imo are the 5th, 7th and 8th house, and I think they reflect different stages of "love or relationship".

The 5th house is still below the horizon and relates to your SELF more than the other. It is the house of selfexpression, especially in a romantic, creative and erotic sense.
At the same times it shows what you are attracted to, because the other one makes you feel good about yourself. But even though there is this attraction, it is still about YOU and how YOU feel (Sun/Leo is the natural ruler of this house).
Anyway, the 5th house is the stage of "falling in love". Playful, romantic, erotic, "the game of love", and if you play it it gives that spark of feeling truely alive. Sex is of course one expression of this, but more in an enthusiastic, fiery, playful manner (depending on your personal 5th house of course; my 5th house ruler squares Pluto - nothing playful about that! But I need that intensity to feel alive, which is what the 5th house attraction should bring to you; that sizzling excitement of falling in love).

The 7th house is the stage where a relationship really forms. 5th house is more about romance and affairs, and in the 7th house it gets more serious. It shows the "marriage potential". Will this other person be a compatible partner? Is he what I need and seek?
7th house is very Venus/LIbra-like, all about balance and partnership, but not necessarily deeply passionate. Yet it shows what you lack and what would compliment you and therefore it shows strongly your attraction-pattern. Even though the attraction is not as playfully erotic as it was in the 5th house.

The third house I would look at is the 8th house. It resonates with Pluto/Scorpio, and it is here that we become really committed. We may sign the marriage contract in the 7th house, but the 8th house shows how this materialises / expresses in the course of the relationship. The 7th house may be the beginning, but the 8th house is the course, the path.
Also, commitment may not be the right word. It is more a deeper bond, forged in fire and blood so to speak. ON the 8th house level you get under each other`s skin, relating in raw primal ways to each other (if you do not run away because you fear this kind of intensity), here you become deeply bonded, eternally. Here two people, two souls and bodies merge into one, and in the process each of them is transformed in profound ways. iN a way a part of you is dying, as you surrender to your partner and your own feelings (you are not literally dying; the separation / detachment between people is dissolving and this is often felt as a threat to the individuality).
It`s the "All-or-Nothing"house as I usually call it. Cause if you can`t or do not want to surrender, then you probably will feel the 8th house connections in form of repulsion and rejection or will get involved into manipulative powerplays."
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/204116.html

Also, I believe that the 5th house has some kind of "double-function" in describing our personal SELF-expression in creative or sexual regard, but at the same time also indicates what we are attracted to, especially initially.

The thing is sexuality usually is a "game for two (or three)"; what good is all my selfexpression and creativity, if noone is there to see it, to share it with?

Another point is that it probably is rather positive if two ways of sexual expression "fit" each other to come to a satisfying sexual life.

though of course the attraction potential has something to say aobut this as well.
I think it would make for an interesting case if the sexual selfexpression of two people were very different (let`s say Uranus vs. Moon), but if each person fitted into the attraction-profile of the other.

Would these two people come to a satisfying sexual life with each other? Or would they be magnetized to each other like magnets again and again, only to realize once they get down to "business", that the actual shared sexual experience is less satisfying than the initial attraction promised?
Or would they just profit from the differences, and despite their differences be content?

I know it’s kind of unrelated… but…

I love this quote!

Whatever you give to a woman, she will make it GREATER. Give her SPERM, she will give you a BABY. Give her a HOUSE, she will give you a HOME. Give her GROCERIES, she will give you a MEAL. Give her LOVE, and she will give you her HEART! She multiplies and enlarges what she is given. So, if you give her CR@P, be prepared to receive a ton of SH!T!

Hera, you got a chuckle out of me. And the quote really suites your user name two…

Interesting Ceri… a scoring system for determining how strong each sign theme is in our charts for each part of the psyche.

Ceri, I been reading through some of your posts on this thread, once again, and you really speck my language! Must be all conjunctions we have in synastry… and you got me thinking about some points I’d like to add.

I remember hearing or reading somewhere that the 2nd house refers to our own physical/sexual identity…while the 8th house refers to how we’d like our partner to respond to us in a physical/sexual way… this resonated with me, and kind of makes sense…

The 1st house represents our persona/ how we act/and how we appear in an unadulterated way… we just naturally and spontaneous ARE like this…. While the 2nd house is concerned with our ATTITUDES regarding our bodies and what we have to offer…

The 7th house is our partners persona/how they act/and how they are personality wise in general… while the 8th house shows how we’d like them to behave towards us in a physical/sexual way… as well how we’d like them to contribute to relationship…

Using myself as an example… I have Capricorn on the 2nd house cusp, ruled by Saturn in Virgo falling into the 9th house…. I am most definitely one that has a more prudent attitude towards sexual behavior, and I wouldn’t give of myself unless in a serious commitment (Cap/Virgo)… and see this as a result of my moral principles (9th house)… however, prudent does not mean frigid… Capricorn and Virgo are both earth signs and I like an attractive man as much as the next girl… but I do strongly value patience, and wisdom… I see men as the hunters, and women as the selective ones, who chooses the smartest choice for her from amongst the men that seek her attention.

I have Cancer on the 8th house cusp, ruled by the Moon also in Cancer and also falling into the 8th house…I need a partner who is very nurturing and caring towards me, and is able to connect with me strongly on an emotional level, and genuinely cares about my welfare… if all my needs are meet both physically and emotionally (sharing a sense of comfort and security, and feeling at home/safe with him are a big deal)…meanwhile my 7th house cusp is in Gemini ruled by Mercury in Sag… I tend to be really attracted to an outgoing fire/air type in terms of personality…. But he also needs some watery sensitivity in the mix, someone who would be tender towards me during private moments, and in other ways…. Like if I’m feeling down he’d know to just give me a big bear hug, and then take me out to get some good food…

Lotis White,

yes, the 2nd house is seriously underestimated in astrology, especially with regard to relationships.
I might even have been writing something similiar somewhere, about 2nd house having much to do with our physicality and how we give ourselves in a sexual relationship.

Well, as for the scoring system; like always it is a work in progress.
I just find it easier to work with scoring systems to be more objective about what I am finding and not overemphasizing minor things, just because I want them to be there.

The ruler of my 2nd house is Saturn in Cancer in 8th house; while the ruler of my 8th house, Moon, is in Aquarius in 2nd house.

I guess I am seeking someone more unconventional than I am myself.
