My wife is a Leo. If she wants a Guy Laroche dress from Paris, I give it to her. Yes, we flew to pick it up at Rue Francois 1 and we dined out that evening and kissed under the Eiffel Tower. My elder son wants an Arabian Thorougbred. I haven't given him one yet, but I endeavor to do so one day. Don't think I just give in all the time either. He asked for an ostentatious convertible when he starts driving and I said "no way." If I were to drive a Rolls Royce (and I don't), then I do so for my own edification, to please myself solely, and frankly I wouldn't give a flying damn what anyone thinks. I work hard for my money, and I'm good at it. Its my business what I do with it, my family's concern regarding the time I spend earning that money, and honestly none of anyone else's concern. Sorry to go on the offensive, but I'm tired of being flamed. IP: Logged |

Yours Truly Always we are all (I think) open minded here and nobody is attacking YOU! Wer'e just discussing traits and comparing our understanding of the signs. I am learning! I'm just sharing my experience with Capricorns thus far. I can't help what Iv'e experienced so far but I can share it. I just find I am different to Capricorns, obviously, I'm not one! And when I used my daughter as an example I also wanted to add that if I were to go to work longer to give her the 'finest' things, that would mean I am absent from my loved ones, for what? 'Things'! I don't think she would prefer this, the 'things' we have aren't the greatest, but they work, and we get to be together a lot. We get by, and we laugh all the time cos I'm not tired or stressed.IP: Logged |

And it would be a very boring planet if we were all the same and we all understood eachother. This is what makes this site so interesting to me. Our differences. I never intend to upset anyone. IP: Logged |

I think we're all being very generous with Capricorns, everyone has their faults including those Goats. My dad is an Aquarius with Dominant Saturn energy and Capricorn all over his chart including his NN.He'd sell his children if it meant he'd get an Aston Martin. Status obsessed, money hungry, cold, unemotional, career obsessed. To this day he barely even knows about what me and my siblings do for a living. Do you want to know why? He never asks because he couldn't give a sh$$%%$. He's to interested in climbing the corporate latter, writing his books and making a name for himself in his field and becoming the next Bill Gates. He's a Scientist in case anyone wondered. He's conservative, restrictive, oppressive, controlling, conventional and believes everything should be done the way he sees fit. Growing up we were forced to go to private schools so it would look good, we spent our days studying, we weren't even given the pleasure of a curfew. Couldn't leave the house only to school, church, and back home. The funny thing is some Capricorns don't even realize they're this way because they spend so much time being in their own heads, typical conventional thinkers only seeing their side of the issue and no one else's. Welcome to Capricorn! They try to repress and restrict you because they think they know better. The truth is the only person who knows how to control you is yourself, not some authoritative, overbearing, social climbing, money and status hungry prick. Whew. That felt good! Don't ride me my descriptions were based on my personal experiences with many Cappies. IP: Logged |

Felt very good reading it too! Sorry but I agree with you 100% My father is Virgo with Cap moon and I never saw him. If he wasn't at work he was in his office. He knows nothing about me. I do have to say though, he has a heart of GOLD, he loves me I know this, and he provided, but he is a stranger. He never got 'personally' involved in my life. I didn't have a Dad. I had a provider. I know very little about him too. Apart from the career related stuff.IP: Logged |

And I have only just realised, at the age of 38, that I am ok. I had a subconscious desire until now to impress him, at get his approval SOMEHOW!!! I tried and I tried and because I didn't measure up to my older brother (lawyer, mayor) I felt like I was invisible. A single mum who is a cleaning lady. I just noticed over the years that whenever there was any kind of achievement of any kind, that's when he'd notice. But when life just went along he was gone, it really messed with my self esteem. But joining this site and educating myself and becoming aware I really it's his Cappy moon, and that I'm ok just the way I am. We just have different priorities.IP: Logged |

Yikes, I feel for you both, my dad is similar (notice my Cap mom is the one who had to struggle) except that he had everything and we had next to nothing. He is a Virgo with Cancer rising Moon in Leo though, but he was still work obsessed and status conscious (military intelligence turned college professor). Funnily, he always recommends that I go to law school even though he didn’t help fund my education (already have a masters, working on a 2nd) and I doubt he’ll pay for the top tier law school I’d go to if I did decide to go! His Mars and NN are in Capricorn…My mom was the one who did all of the heavy lifting though and she is a Cap/Sag/Cap with Saturn in Cap in the 1st house! I understand her a little bit more. I mean, she still isn’t that emotional type and she was always pretty stern but I have learned not to rely on her for emotional support. What is the saying? Can’t quench a thirsty heart by going to an empty well, I think? It is sad but, I have had to deal with it so I’m used to it. She is easy! I see both sides, I am not crazy about both but I think that it helps that I understand it (I am still trying to understand my father though, that might take a while)... IP: Logged |

It's tough trust me I know. That was pretty much my whole life. I'm guessing your a Libra? They say that Libra's get born into unstable households cosmically to learn lessons about balance. Funny huh? How pleasant for us. Me and all my siblings made honors in high school went to private universities, we're involved in community service, nonprofit work. None of us so much stepped out of line growing up. We are Lawyers, Teachers, Artists and Media specialists having paved the way through supporting each other, help from our mother and complete indifference from our father. Seeking approval was my last name until about half way through college when I realized I could never live up to my father's high standards and I was already enough for myself. My father's an overly conservative coward, and that's the truth. It's good you've seen him for who he is and in a sense took back the power he had over you for approval. It's no good trying to live up to someone else's standards. IP: Logged |

I work hard to please the people I love most. I don't love working. I rather be sitting on the beach in the South Pacific. Please don't use your unique childhood experiences to cast blanket accusations against an entire group of individuals. I can't help it that you have a beef with Aston Martin. IP: Logged |

Thanks NativelyJoan I appreciate your understanding. Maybe I'm here to learn from Earth signs. I get them the least, but with the whole Capricorn influence growing up, it took me a good 20 years, and I did it the hard way, but I understand myself so much better now. And if I didn't have a Cap influenced Dad I may not have got to that point. So in a strange way I guess I'm greatful. I just really love air and fire. Having low self esteem through the teenage years and the 20's means I'm better equipped to help my 2 daughters when they get to the awkward "I'm not good enough" stage too. :-)IP: Logged |

The thing is YoursTrulyAlways, we are all speaking from personal experience. We're entitled to our own opinions and this forum is meant for peaceful discourse. "Discourse" being the key term in that sentence. I know you don't share our views because as a Capricorn you're speaking from your perspective. These responses aren't meant to challenge your identity as a Capricorn, their meant to shed light on how different we all are and how the things we've experienced in our lives have impacted us. Not one of us is throwing outrageous generalizations, these are personal EXPERIENCES. From your posts I see that your a decent and responsible person and you've done a lot for your family which is great. Unfortunately growing up I didn't experience that, and I've got authority to express my disdain over my personal experiences. On a side note I don't have "beef" with Aston Martin's. It was an example. I'm a Libra and people make generalizations about us all the time. Maybe what they've experienced greatly affected them and who am I to tell them not to feel a certain way about Libra's. We can only speak from experience. Any who, let's just be peaceful and tranquil. IP: Logged |

Well it's actually a luxury car brand. They market at like just under $200,000, some even more. High priced vehicles, James Bond drives them in his movies. Casino Royale etc. IP: Logged |

Me too! I think we're great! And I get along best with them because besides being a Libra, I'm Air/Fire dominant. There are hardly ever any misunderstandings. But I do appreciate all the other signs and the lessons like you've mentioned with earth signs, that I've learned from both earth and water signs. IP: Logged |

We're here to learn afterall. That's what life is all about! :-) Being a Libran, a thinker, I might enjoy a good debate (makes things interesting) but I always be 'fair' and digest the other person's point of view. Maybe the Leo moon secretly enjoys it when it gets heated....ssshhh!IP: Logged |

Too Funny! I'm an Aries Mooner and I think the warrior in me not only secretly enjoys when the debate gets heated, but has a secret hope it might turn into a full fledged fight! Only in the name of justice of course.... Sometimes we gotta get our fists dirty to reach resolution, or shall I say gloves.... but only if it comes to that. Diplomacy and tact is of course a must in friendly debates. Look at us fiery Libra's. I think having moon in fire not only helps balance out the Air in our charts but gives us the necessary added strength to handle conflicts. Passive, who? Me? Never! IP: Logged |
