Ok, so I should get used to last minute cancellations from people with Capricorn placements for the sake of work and security. Gotcha!

Well. I wasn't necessary ****** off.. more disappointed. He made dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant to celebrate my successful exam this week. Then he cancels last minute to stay at work. I was disappointed then he tells me he misses me a lot and is very "sorry". Haven't spoken to him since.

So I would just love to wrap my head around this. So it IS a normal thing for caps to do this? Okay cool. I can accept it!

where and when have I ever claimed to dislike capricorn?

I love Capricorn placements, especially the moon. But my Pisces moon and Venus at times can take their choosing to work as a form of rejection, so i retreat into myself until they come after me. I have no initial problem though.. with all my air fixed placements, I was just curious because something like this has happened more than two times. With the working and wanting financial security. Part of me thinks he is hiding though, he *is* vulnerable, made himself very vulnerable with me last week so I sense he is distancing cause he thinks I will hurt/abandon him you know kinda like his mommy did!!!

I like cappies, other than Gemini, they are my favorite zodiacal sign. I'm not sure if Aquarius is compatible with cappie but that's our ASC

Misconstruing is quite common. but are you going to stick to the topic here or talk about something irrelevant?

Do cappies place work/security over loved ones?
Cappies are cool people, out of my residence I seem to be one of the few that can tolerate them.. not a lot of people here it seems where I live like Capricorns for whatever reason

Nah..I'm a Capricorn and while I have good work ethic I don't give a rat's a$$ about the importance of my job other than to sustain my own lifestyle.

My sister and aunt are both Caps, too...and neither of them (not even my sis w/ Cap ASC) place work above everything else. My aunt puts fun above everything else and my sister puts education above everything else but not her loved ones.

I put nothing over my loved ones...other than myself.

Once again, another stereotype.

I'm a heavy Capricorn and I have a highly successful career. My sun is in House 10. My income is in the President's targetted 1%. You know all the protests around the world... that's against people like myself. We work brutal schedules and achieve success.

My goal in life is to provide for my loved ones. Nothing's more important to me than my family. They get the very best of the best in everything, and I work super hard to afford the best for them.

Depending on the nature of his job, it may not have been his choice. It may have been his boss that forced him to stay. One unpopular move these days is enough to shift you from the favoured list at work to the list of the expendables, meaning that you are in danger of being laid off during the next restructuring.

Hospital

yes I see that they work very hard to support loved ones they want what's best for them so they work very hard to obtain that. Good point.

So I take it that he's a physician, and probably a surgeon. Anyway, he was probably needed in surgery or in the ER. His job is saving lives and caring for others! What an honourable job!

I know you missed a great dinner, but I'm sure he'll make it up to you.

Just as a side note, my cousin and his wife are both ER doctors. They work at the same hospital, and unfortunately since they are both senior attending physicians, one is on while the other is off. They get to kiss each other in the common area outside the changing rooms. They sleep together at the hospital even though they have a beautiful home. Its a hard on their marriage, but they are doing wonderful things for humanity. They did take a year off to go to Kenya to be together and to tend to needy children.

I don't understand Capricorns, I get that they want the 'best' for their loved ones, I appreciate that but I find that more often than not 'the best' seems to be materialistic things. The nicest car you can get or the biggest house, all that money spent on looking 'the best' to me is a waste. My daughter I think has some Cap in there somewhere, she is only 12 and already finds such things important. We have the same argument time and time again, we live in a cool little house, it's small and most of our things are 2nd hand but they do the job and wer'e so happy. To her our things should be brand sparkling new and better than everyone elses, why? She is loved and cared for. I certainly would prefer our little home with character (and a low price leaving room for other stuff) to a brand new pretentious one and extra hours at work to cover the debt. I just don't get how love=material items to Caps, but hey, they probably don't get me either!

Lindis,

quote:
money and work over their loved ones

Not 'over'... but sometimes.. on par.
This is because 'work' is seen as something they need to do *for* their loved ones. They show appreciation and love by providing financial support, presents and being the one everyone can "count on" when worse comes to worse.

quote:

I'd say a big fat - NO to that ^ lol
I have Capricorn in my chart - as you know.. and I do care about my work commitments, but if I told someone I'm going to have dinner with them, I would not cancel last minute.
This is kind of irresponsible and disorganised of him.

Tell him that you are disappointed in him and you think he should get more organised. Hopefully that embarrasses him into changing.

Libreo -

quote:
all that money spent on looking 'the best' to me is a waste.

Wanting the newest, most expensive things is a Leo thing imo..

Capricorn wants *useful* things. If they live in a small house that can work for them as long as they have everything they *need*.

Also - when I said Capricorn provides material support... this happens often when someone strongly needs the support - like for instance, if they had an accident and need both financial aid (hospital bills etc) and legal aid.

When it comes to spending extra money to buy the most expensive flashy car etc... that's more so Leo.

Earth signs spend their money carefully.

quote:
I certainly would prefer our little home with character

A lot of Cap-influenced people would agree to this imo. They like everything that has character and history behind it. It's the sign that is most connected to 'time' and karma.. They also strongly appreciate 'heritage'.

Perhaps I'm using the wrong person in my assessment then. I have a Leo moon and am most certainly 'thrifty', I find the best and newest things a sign of superficiality and it really annoys me. I have a friend with a Capricorn moon and he seemed to me very materialistic, (and some comments from Caps on here in the past indicate this too) my friend went crazy when his new lounge was scuffed, I was like 'get over it, you can still sit on it'. I offered him a bedside table I was getting rid of and he turned up his nose and said "I don't want an odd piece, I want them in twos'" Again, who cares? Another Cap sun friend is hell bent on making sure everyone in hearing distance and beyond knows about his flash new apartment with the water views and how much it costs him and how much he earns etc etc. Very distasteful.

I'm not sure. It could be a case of the positive vs. the negative traits of the sign - as all signs have both.

I find it very easy to live in different circumstances. I've lived in both good and bad conditions in my life.
I feel pretty 'thick skinned' when it comes to that and I thought this was a Cappy thing.

The people I know who can't go camping for instance and who are very posh (everything seems to bother them if it is not perfect) - usually have Gemini/Virgo in their chart. My mum has a Gemini Moon (& I suspect a Virgo AC).. She gets annoyed very easily... If t starts raining that annoys her. If she has to walk through an area that is muddy - she has a heart-attack over it... "oh noes mud... what are we ever gonna do?" lol It might also be her Libra Venus, I don't know.
From my perspective it's like.. so what? Mud is perfectly washable.. Who cares? It's just earth.

I have a Virgo friend who says he loves the sea but hates the sand.. and he refuses to walk on sand.
I LOVE sand.. I can make sand angels and cover myself in sand. I just love nature in general.. I really thought this was Capricorn-like.
But maybe it's something else in my chart.

AmiAnne, YoursTrulyAlways, Betty Boop – I agree with these completely. It all depends on the sensitivity of the loved one, how they will take this. I know when I was younger I always wished my mom (Cap w/Cap rising, Saturn in the 1st house!!!) was home more and was there when I needed her all of the time. Now I realize that she had to work hard after she divorced my father in order to keep us in a great neighborhood, me in a great school district and my brother with the help he needed as a child with developmental disabilities. I always knew why she was busy but I still had some resentment because I can be self-centered (Leo w/Aqua AC) I didn’t truly understand it until after my Saturn Return, after I had responsibilities and stuff to lose, and now I see.

On the romantic side: At 19 I dated a Cap who was in college full time, had a full time job and a side job. He was helping his mother pay her bills (she had a lot of issues) so he didn’t always have time to worship me like I wanted him to. However, he called and/or visited every night - even when he was half asleep to see how I was doing. He broke a couple of dates because of his job or a paper and I would get angry at first and I would even tell him off and he would just say “I have been working all day!” then it sort of clicked, “oh yeah”. I couldn’t stay mad at someone like him, even back then.

We got back in touch about a year ago (wasn’t my choice, darn Facebook!) and he is a big family man, his page is covered in pics of his kids and he’ll bore you to tears with stories about his boys if you let him yet he has a great, demanding career which allows his wife to be a SAHM.

That was just one example but I have dated other Caps and they have been the same way, very busy but they do care. I mean, they live in this world too and someone has to pay those bills – and they are serious about that. I actually really like them, there is nothing wrong with being responsible. I am one of those Aqua risings who identifies more with Saturn though so…(esp. after the dreaded Return, plus Saturn is conjunct my NN)

Hi! Maybe this is different for Cap Suns…
But I’m looking for the “best” in terms of function not appearance.

I care more about ‘how well it works’ and ‘how durable it is’ rather than 'how it looks'.

Not everything that is expensive is good quality. Sometimes things are expensive because of the brand name.. but they are not as well-made as less expensive things.

I always shop around before making a decision.

I know what keeps my family happy, and I domy very best to supply those items to the best of my abilities.

But please don't condemn me if I'm good at what I want to do!
