Is it true that

Mercury-Uranus aspects, but esp. conj, trine and sextile.

Mercury-Saturn aspects, but esp conj, trine sextile

A strong well placed Mercury in the 1H, 3H, 7H, 9H, or 10H

Would mark superior intelligence?
what aspects would mark intelligence

http://practicalastrology.prettyfedup.com/thehouses3.htm#9th

Among the grab bag of things covered by the ninth house are religion, international travel and relationships, the legal profession, life experience, your outlook on life, college, career preparation, the higher mind, and your ethics and morals. Einstein had sun in the 9th house--and Einstein was pretty doggone smart. So the 9th house is partly a house that reveals your highest intelligence. But it can also reveal the meaning you place on your intelligence, as in your understanding of God and the cosmos. It can relate to your efforts to find meaning and intelligence through the pursuit of new experience. The pursuit of new experience is a pretty broad category, and therefore transits to the 9th house can encompass a broad array of things.

You remind me of a previous knowflake.

I have all those lol.
I think for mercury-uranus, you should only count hard aspects- that is conj and square, trines and sextiles don't make as much of an impact.

Also moon conjunct mercury and mercury conjunct desc.
Mercury square jupiter.

I have mercury in the 9th conjunct MC but my 3rd cusp is in aqua and the 3rd house rules thinking so even though mercury is in the 9th my thinking is unconventional.

Isn't 9th house about higher learning etc? So mercury in the 9th might not necessarily be the most innately intelligent...But they will be into learning, expanding themselves intellectually.

Your Third House lord would be Uranus... What's its placement?

also i dont get it, can you have just one planet ruler in your chart? So would that mean, for example someone with Capricorn rising would have Saturn ruling their chart..? Don't aspects make a difference

my mercury is in the 9th but is in virgo which is kind of neat as it lets me see the details but also the big picture and this theme is doubled with having sun in virgo but rising in sag.

I have uranus conjunct exact jupiter and both conjunct my rising in sag.

Uranus however does fall in my 12th house.

What is your interpretation in connection to topic in this thread based on those placements ?

Is it specifically tied to religion?

I personally find with astrology it's less accurate to use bubble descriptors to explain a chart. Rather, use the details of ones chart to fit the bubble descriptors. Meaning, look at the individuals chart and see if they have a setup that would indicate possible high intelligence.

Also remember, there are MANY forms of intelligence. Mercury isn't going to be the prime ruler of it all, just perhaps book smarts. Even then, just because someone has a ****** mercury placement doesn't mean they'll be a dummy-mcdumbsalot.

3rd House rules communication and though process so usually I look at the House Lord for aspects. Uranus conjunct Jupiter conj Rising in Sag! You must come off as quite the brainiac. Sag also rules religion, which explains your interest in the Divine Arts. You like things that are not mainstream, foreign, and beyond the material world.

Lindis,

Mercury in the 9th would be attracted to theology, philosophy, physics, metaphysics, different cultures, travel, law and politics.

I wonder if Uranus placed in 12H would have any relevance on intelligence....

12th house always stifles me... I never truly know its real meaning....
