Well...

I'm a photography person. Never really been interested in other forms of art. I love bokeh, photojournalism, abstract and candid photographic styles. One of my favorite photographers is Henri Cartier-Bresson, who was a 20th century French photojournalist. He was a Leo Sun, with a heavy 8th House including Mercury and Mars there. I also have Mercury in the 8th and I enjoy extremes of emotion in photography and in art. Photojournalism is my favorite field and style within photography. I'm not a fan of potraits or wedding photography or anything like that. The art always has to have a depth and edge to it however I'm not disregarding other forms of photography I just don't enjoy them.

As far as painters go even though I'm not really a fan of that genre of art, Roberto Matta who is a Chilean artist is incredible, he was a Scorpio with Venus in Libra. He's an abstract expressionist and surrealist painter. His works are transformational, it's like viewing an alternate reality.

I lean more towards Aquarian/Plutonian photography/art with a Venusian edge meaning in the end no matter how dark and expresive the image is, the quality of the work needs to be beautiful and magnificently crafted.

I love all mediums in art and am very artistic myself. I'm going to school for graphic design/web design...

I really enjoy and admire Surrealism..especially in photography and painting. Max Ernst and Salvador Dali are two of my favorite painters.

I really like digital artwork and large-scale intermedia art that involves lighting and color and how they play off each other.

Love drawing, too, of course. I'm good at sculpture but don't enjoy it as much.

My favorite SUBJECT MATTER in art leans toward the dark, macabre, surreal, dreamy, fantasy, nightmarish, otherworldly, science fiction...but I also have a huge thing for human portraits..I love the human face and body.

Venus in Scorpio (1st house, conj ASC, trine Mars & Jupiter)
Mercury in Sagittarius (2nd house, conj Sun & Neptune in Capricorn, square Mars, conj Uranus)

Strange, huh? Yes, I've had friends where we look through their entire extended families and they have common placements and moons.

Heey, my mom is Virgo sun, Aries Moon, Libra Venus!

that is strange, 12th house planet placements always fascinate me. there seems to be some sort of loss when planets are there and its just so interesting to see how it manifests itself in similar ways through peoples charts. it also makes me wonder of our destinies, because when the sun or moon is there, theres some sort of loss through a parent but was it the planets placement in that house that manifested itself out to be true or was it preplanned and with that planets placement in that house gave you that characteristic to heal that part of yourself and influence psychologically how you react to the world. maybe its both or maybe i lost myself in words trying to explain what im thinking haha. i feel like i could have tried to say it better im just not sure how right now ha

aww i wish my dad could meet your mom, haha his venus is conjunct neptune, i feel like with his strong virgo ,cause his rising is in virgo also, that he has really high standards/ideals for women and if he could date another virgo women just like himself that would be awesome!

I love acrylic paintings, oil, watercolour, and pretty much anything that has rich colours and texture. I love rich landscapes, abstract paintings, and i also have an incline towards slightly gothic artwork.

i'm in love with this guy lately, his name's kris kuksi.
this doesn't show the best detail, so you can check out his website if you want, but this painting's called Psychotropic Comparative Anatomy. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2317/1799493189_264241738e.jpg

A couple of his sculptures, which is how i fell in love with him in the first place. i love his fascination with the skeletal system. http://joshualinergallery.com/jlg_inventory/artwork/Kuksi_Imminent_Utopia.jpg
http://static2.slamxhype.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/kris-kuksi-imminent-utopia-6.j pg

Sorry i don't know how to post the actual pictures in here.

EDIT: whoops i forgot to add, aquarius mercury in retrograde, and venus in pisces.

Amazing topic!!

I have venus in aqua and merc in sag. So well, wherever I can travell, I'll travel, with my hand and my mind.

I have some artwork where there are characters a bit surrealistic, but they are never tottally abstract!

Here an exemple: http://lulous.deviantart.com/art/Ya-bold-273540191

Also, my venus in aqua likes futuristic topics!! http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/345/2/d/profile_picture_by_lulous-d4iuwal.jpg

No problem, Bresson is a genius he is hand's down one of the greatest photographers of all time. Otis Gibbs work is amazing, thank you for sharing. I also like urban photography, it's so honest and authentic. And candid's are so authentic in their expresson it's the reason why I'm not a fan of potraits because they are too staged and constructed. I like unplanned images and Bresson did it best.

Okay guys, still not getting it. How does our natal Venus and Mercury tell us about our taste in art?

I love alot of different schools of art. I wouldn't be able to tell which one I prefer.

agreed, best photographs ever.

i don't know how long it takes him, but imminant uptopia (the one with the reflection) is 132" x 72" x 19"

i looked up his chart, and he's

Sun Pisces
Moon Aquarius
Mercury Pisces
Venus Pisces
Mars Capricorn
Jupiter Aquarius
Saturn Gemini
Uranus Libra
Neptune Sagittarius
Pluto Libra

fascinating. maybe it's the whole aquarius/pisces energy that i connect to so much, or just venus in pisces.

For that BBC test I got,
Your favourite type of art is secular Islamic.
In the personality profile you had a high intellectualism score, which suggests you like to think about abstract ideas and have a creative imagination.
People who are the same age and sex as you are most likely to prefer Impressionism
People who also score highly in your dominant personality trait are most likely to prefer Impressionism

These are beautiful -and I want to go see the underwater ones!!
I always am told that I was an Atlantean in a past life so I guess that's why I love this underwater old-yet-new kind of art. I also love bronzey and coppery type structures if they look like they could belong to the 'Atlantis' cartoon/movie lol

My mom's Sept 8th.

The men that I know the signs she's been with are Pisces, Taurus, Sag, and now Taurus-Gemi

I know that it is said that when a Virgo mom has a pisces child (esp. the first born) that it makes them prone to pull a little closer to their opposite traits. I think this would apply to all opposites in that situation.
