The Ruler of Another House Residing in the Twelfth —–Does it Indicate Sorrow in the House from which it Came?
By amiann

I was thinking about this, in terms of my chart. I have Ruler of the 5th in the 12th.I lost a child. The 5th is the House of all things we create, which includes children. It’s Ruler travels to the 12th, the House of Sorrow, as was it’s old name. Does anyone have a House Ruler in the 12th House? If so, please tell me from which House it came and what you have experienced. This would apply to people with 12th House planets, only.

not at all....

Ruler of the Fifth House in the Twelfth House

"Some of your love affairs may take place behind the scenes or you may choose to keep your romantic activities to yourself. Given a choice you'd rather keep your social activities private. You enjoy being by yourself at times and you can do some of your finest creative work while spending some time alone." http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/houserulerships.htm#hr5

If you look at this another way, Traditional astrologers would look at Jupiter being the ruler of pisces and jupiter is posited in 9th. In it's own house and accidentally dignified

Now neptune in it's own house gives it bit more strength, even though it's THE most cadent, hidden house...

Wherever your Neptune is, "is where you carry your cross and where you will be called upon to make a sacrifice!" True sacrifices are never usually recognised, or else they could turn into martyrdom!

Neptune in l2th House – cadent house
Intuitive link with the unconscious mind. Strong mystical ¬religious tendencies. Much spiritual depth and wisdom. Guard against mental confusion. Have inner faith (Jupiter rules the sign of faith) and knowledge that things will turn out all right. Leap of faith. Behind the scenes, great potential for service. Place of isolations such as Hospitals, prison, laboratories. Sailors at sea. Could be secret drinker, or other addictions that are kept secret.

personally I'm not convinced you can even see or predict something like this. I lost a child through a contraceptive coil, which did it's job and aborted a pregnancy. Additionally, I terminated a pregnancy. My problem was virgo in 8th house retro and IN fall, made my highly fertile, insomuch as my first husband got me pregnant even with a coil......

trying to predict ones own death is very complex and I've heard a number of theories. My old astrology teacher's theory is mars/Saturn midpoint transiting by Pluto.

death pointers http://aliceportman.com/?p=1382 http://noeltyl.com/discussion/index.php?topic=4897.0
Another idea is Death Midpoint is found by finding the midpoint of the 1st House Ruler and the 8th House Ruler. But after finding this midpoint, *something* has to trigger it.

traditional astrologers seem more confident about predictions, but all charts are about potential and whilst a chart could show a potential for dying at a certain age, with medical science at it's peak, it's doubtful if it would work

As a Christian I am sure your beliefs will allow you to think that you will MEET up with your child when your time comes

Well, lets explore this. Let me ask you some questions.Have you had sorrow around your deepest emotions and passions? Were you really shamed for them or made fun of etc

Did someone in your life die when you were young? Were you sexually abused? Did you have to HIDE a lot of what was happening in your life? The 8th House is the House of repression

yes, all the above besides sexual abuse, (that i remember) and no one died when i was young. definetely experienced physical and emotional abuse from my parents who were (are) in such deep denial and unawareness. knew at a young age that i needed to go into myself because i could not depend on anyone emotionally. was so repressed and shamed that now at 39 finally, am starting to feel comfortable in my own skin and claim my personal power.

It seems to be lining up that people HAVE sorrow in the House from which the House Ruler comes.

I have ruler of the 1st in the 12th. I'm not sure if the sorrow is from Pluto or my unaspected moon in the 1st...

WOW Angler It could be both, but the moon is not sorrow, as much as "raw". This is your issue, I think. Study about it. It will help. I will try to investigate it more, as I think I am really on to something, not that I discovered anything new. I am just seeing how 12th House planets work and trying to bring it to light, more. I need to do this for myself, as one needs to try to make sense of things, as you know. x x o x o

Well, if anything is 10 degrees away from the ASC, it is counted as 1st House. Are you very young?

First of all:
honestly, everyone is having sorrow in most areas of their lives sometimes, though it depends on how important you deem a certain area and thus will feel sorrow and pain more quickly and deeply.

----------------------------

Anyway, I have Mars in 12th house; Mars rules the 4th house.
My 4th house, my home and family, is not a "sorrowful" one. Actually it is the very foundation of my life, a very supportive base to build on.

NOw, I know that others might maybe have felt it more like a "sorrowful" one, as there are some unusual things about my family. My aunt has been growing up with me as sort of a stepsister, my middle brother has the Down syndrome, both my grandfathers were being taken care of by my parents and died at home.

Of course there was pain associated with the deaths of my grandparents, but isn`t that always the case, if a loved one dies, and they were in their 70`s, when they died.

But with all that extra-attention and energy, that goes into my 4th house, my family, it is also a source of strenght (and I do have Chiron there, as well!) and joy.

So no, for me this isn`t true. But maybe it depends on how Mars is aspected?

(though having said that, my Mars is actually one leg of a "Hammer of Thor" with my Chiron and Vertex; a "Hammer of Thor" is the square between my Chiron and Vertex, with sesisquares to my Mars).

My family and the unusual make up of my family definitely contributed greatly to my inclination to spiritual things, and seeing things from a spiritual perspective.

I know you do not believe in past lives, but I feel very strongly, that my family and me, are a family *for a reason*, be it that we are part of the same soulfamily and reincarnated together again, or be it that we simply have a purpose and things to learn and accomplish together (you do not have to believe in past lives for that to be possible).

Even though I think that sometimes there will be sorrow associated with the 12th house, there is always something to gain from it, to learn, and in this way I see the 12th house as one of the most karmic ones in the whole chart. (Karma is not ONLY past lives, as a matter of fact, the emphasis is much more on thé present, what you need to learn).

Often us humans need sorrowful or painful experience, to even start with this learning, as otherwise we will stay stuck in our comfortzone.

(Of course like always that is not true for everyone).

I have Saturn in the 12th ruling my 6th with my singleton Cap sun in it.

I've had some medical trouble...but I research whatever the issue is, and usually treat it myself instead of going to the doctor. I've had a lot of satisfaction being "miraculously" cured of certain problems this way.

I realize there is a limit to what I can do, but I've enjoyed the process (so far).

I actually like my Cap sun there, I feel like it is "protecting" my sixth house.

I have Saturn and Jupiter in the 12th house... you have mentioned before that Saturn is refering to feeling like an outsider to a group.. which I can relate to.

If I am correct, Ruler of the 3rd house (Sag) Jupiter is in the 12th house... Ruler of 4th house (Cap) Saturn is in the 12th house... Not sure what it means... but I do have a ok family, not really abusive but I always felt unwanted... like my parents will always prefer my sis over me... well, she gets all the fantastic grades, the enviable job, the high salary etc. I understood and have pretty much accepted it..

So I'm not as good, not good enough... but I am at peace with myself these days. I'm happy with myself.

Honestly, it is because I feel so unwanted because of all these social standards that I REFUSE to judge a person by it.
