Thank you very much, Faith. But honestly, those physical beatings were absolutely nothing much compared to the emotional bashing. Yes, "good for nothing" was a common phrase. Then came "never amount to anything," "such a burden" and then it was "worst form of human being". By 13, I was numb. I would take a knife from the kitchen drawer and tell my parents to just get it over with. Nothing they said affected me any more. I was immune to the world. It was a miracle that I didn't become a psychopathic serial murderer.

There are no scars more traumatic than an emotional scar on a child. So all parents and potential parents please take note. Nothing is worth damaging your child's psyche.

YTA, were your parents ever affectionate?

So sorry to hear about your wretched childhood.

Just saw this and thought it was a cool thread! I have Mars in Gemini in the 12th, and a pretty deep scar on the side of my wrist that happened when I got silly and tried jumping a wire fence for fun. Why? I don't know. The actual exit was only 10 feet away from me but something about climbing on top of the hood of someone's car and "making an escape" was thrilling. I used to be an idiot in high school...

Ya.. when I delivered the desired results. But it was never good enough. I have three cousins plus my brother that delivered perfect SATs. Mine was *only* (gasp) 1560 (out of 1600 at that time). One cousin delivered perfect GREs on both general and specialized. He has a PhD from MIT and a PhD Harvard. If I won the Nobel Prize in whatever, I'm sure I would have a cousin that would have won three of them at 13 years old lol

My cousin was in the Olympics Finals in 100 meters freestyle... the second most competitive event in the world, outside of 100 meters track. Anyway, he came in last. Clearly last. But eighth fastest in the world. For the next three years, his parents could only focus on him coming in last, and how it was embarassing that he was last. Never mind that he was among the top swimmers in the world.

Taurus Mars in 8th house and there's no scars in the nether region for me...but that's probably because I don't have kids.

I do have a scar hidden on a brow that resulted from a physical altercation with my Dad when I was 17. Skin split open and a lot of blood gushed out... a blood vessel got busted. I looked like Carrie.

I participated in team sports and got whacked a lot... softball hit my face at one point, fast ball banged up my arm, ran and stole bases and was always cut up. No scarring, thank goodness. I've always regenerated myself pretty quickly (Pluto in 1st house) and I have a really sturdy bone structure (Saturn on Asc) so I do end up taking some risks.

YTA, I wonder if people who have earth Mars often grow up in a physically challenging environment?

Before I turned 7, I stabbed my Dad when he was whaling on my Mom. I had enough it all and just wanted everything to end. After that whole incident, I was psychologically "monitored" briefly but was sent away (again, as I was often sent away). I realized at that point that I'm capable of anything, even violence. When I was 17, I had physical altercations with both my parents and took in most it... as I knew I would be capable of massive damage like what I caused 10 yrs previous. I was sucking everything up because I knew I didn't have that long until I turned 18 to run off. Being told all my life that nobody wants me or would ever want me had already taken its toll on me by the time puberty hit me...which was 10 yrs old. I precisely timed it and left a day after I turned 18 and left a note on my parents' dresser saying that I'll never return to live with any of them ever again.

My Mom has Virgo Mars, she grew up in an "abusive" home too. Her Dad use to hit her and all her siblings based upon his moods. Who would have known that not only did my Mom pass on earth Mars to me, but to also give me the same childhood fate as her's. It's all too real and gritty.

Mars in Taurus in the 6th.

I have a surgery scar a little below my navel. None on my neck or vocal chords I am aware of but am prone to throat colds.

Interesting about earth mars growing up in challenging environments. My sister is a Virgo Mars and I am a Taurus Mars. Mom is Capricorn Mars. There was a physical altercation every day under my roof until about age 15, the cops were a constant presence in my home. I was given very little, if ANY affection because too much and it would be coddling, or babying or whatever.

Mars in Aries. There aren't any visible scars on my face, but once as a kid, I ran headlong into a rose bush. I did have some scars on my forehead for awhile, but they eventually faded. My n.Mars is in the 12th house. Hidden??

So sorry to hear the stories of child abuse. So glad everyone seems to be dealing with it, or at least understanding it all and not continuing the cycle.

I'm a mars in taurus ......and I dont know where the taurus rulership is but I had a large circumcission scar and it was a white patch (I'm a person of color being Indian) I had to get it tatooed a couple of times but the scar is still discernable although the job that was done was pretty good......well scorpio is the opposite sign so it might be an oppositional reflex with me lol

Mars in the 8th, in Cancer. I'm getting a breast reduction soon in the near future, so yes that part of my body ruled by Cancer will have some scarring. But a Pluto trine makes me brave and hopeful to heal well. I'm not scared to do it since I have a lot of courage and know that it's worth the pain to make my life better.

I also have Antares, the heart of the Scorpion and very Martian asteroid, conjunct my Sagittarius ASC. The duad and decan of my ASC are both in Aries. I have a small scar on the bridge of my nose and one on my forehead from childhood accidents.

Mars in Taurus 12th house, I suppose that can translate into Institutions i.e. scar on my stomach a from medical procedure. With it opposite my PLuto in the 6th ruled by Virgo, within medical astrology Virgo rules the digestive system, abdominal region, large and small intestines, spleen, solar plexus, lobes of the liver, and pancreas.

I grew up with no physical affection whatsoever. If anything, I got slapped for either not looking cheerful enough or not being emotionally sensitive and sad enough, given the social situation. Whatever it was, I was always in the wrong and got physically punished.

None, wow. Sorry to hear, May. I can relate to being punished for "not looking cheerful enough" by being told to "fix my face" and all that other mess.
You wouldn't happen to have any Saturn or Pluto stuff going on in your natal chart, would you? if you don't mind my asking?

This might sound cheesy or be a given but maybe Mars in the water houses indicate wounds on a deeper level. In the home yes, but not like on your body or physical. Like in the heart, subconscious, etc.

I love it when old threads come back! The past is haunting, no?

I have Leo Mars, House 11/12. I have some faint scars on my abdomen from when I lived with my highly abusive uncle. Aside from those, I have a teeny scar (as in hardly noticeable unless I point it out but scar enough to cause some eyebrow hair loss) on my eyebrow from when someone thought they were tough and came at me with a kitchen knife, (I kicked their **** after it broke)
