appleberry - I'm also an Aries with Pisces Mercury.. I've called myself -shy- in the past, just to be nice.. because well, it sounds nicer than the reality. But what was really going through my mind in my "shy" moments.. was more like:

"I really don't like these people. These people bore me. Why am I here at all? I should've gone to the other party. Those people were more fun to be with... gah...b...o..r..e..d..o..m .. Kill me now... boreeeeedommmmmm"

PS... That might just be might Mercury square Uranus though!

We should check our synastry some time!

Wow! My stellium falling on your Venus-Jupiter?! That sounds like awesome synastry right off the bat! And you always seem Venusian to me when I read your posts.

Yeah, we should... PR, maybe?

I used to be painfully shy as a young girl…. Still am a bit but not like before. I’m a Capricorn Sun with Moon in Cancer…. Chiron falls into my 5th house and squares my Moon and trines my Venus (according to the Magi astro people I’ll have a great marriage then). There’s also kind of a bubbly, goofy side to me once you get to know me real well… I have a Sag Asc, as well as Mercury, Venus, and Neptune in Sag, plus Mars in Leo… I’m the ‘good girl’ type for sure, and actually take pride in this. I stand in my truth and embrace it.

One sure advantage to being a ‘good girl’ (which is not quite the same thing as being shy, although it is common for one to go with the other) is that guys know from the get-go that you’re to be approached with respect, and chivalry… fewer guys may approach but the ones that do usually do so because they see a potential future with you…. you’re not seen as just some lose lovely to be used up and quickly forgotten…

When a women is brazen in a sexual way (which is not the same thing as simply being a naturally outgoing, friendly person) many guys may approach her, but usually they only see her as a fling, and are biding their time until they can score…. It’s sad but true.

However, not all shy girls are ‘good’ girls, although they usually are…some just sneaky and quiet about the ‘bad’ stuff they do… and not all outgoing girls are crazy and promiscuous, they are just naturally friendly and like people.

There is a stereotype floating around in our society that you have to be super social, and aggressive, and wild and crazy to be ‘cool’ …. and I think for those who are naturally reserved and shy this may hurt their confidence. Especially when they are young and impressionable, as they may feel they are not living up to all that they ‘should’ be, and may not be considered attractive…

The truth is that everybody has different taste when it to the opposite sex… some like outgoing, some prefer the more reserved type. Some like edge, some like sweet… for every type of person there is out there, the is a certain section of the population that’s attracted to what you have to offer, and see the value in you…

There is no cuteness involved in shyness,, the physical and emotional turmoil that a shy person undergoes cannot be measured in cuteness, it is quite debilitating and socially a handicap.

Tofu addict,
that wasn't a nice thing to say. As a girl who wishes she wasn't so shy, that makes me feel pretty bad that I am the way I am. I've always been very shy and painfully shy as a kid. I should have no reason to be but I cannot help myself...Some people are born shy as some people are born social. Genetics has to play a role in this. I hope you understand that many of us don't choose to be shy. We just are.

Pisces asc. moon conjunct asc. lots of 12th house.

Shy- Yes, used to be painfully, but I think it's turning into more reserved as I get older, I now choose to be quiet a lot of the time.

Self conscious- Sometimes.

Good girl- Ummmm no.
And definitely not embarrassed to show emotion.

I think it can be very cute personally
And some guys are really attracted to this... I used to act shy with my ex (he didn't know it was an act though) - & it turned him on.

However the whole sign system would change everything putting my saturn in the 12H x.x .. haha no thanks XD [/B]

nothing much, it's a *minor* aspects, which I don't bother using....

Quintiles and bi quintiles are also minor aspects, but can show hidden talent, but nothing you are not already aware of within yourself..

an excellent thread here http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13644&highlight=quintiles

I guess what helps is my Sun-Mars-Pluto conjunction, trines Ascendant.

actually, the compass points are *reversed* in astrology, so YOURS are in SOUTH hemisphere..

typical scorpio resonse. Perhaps not if saturn is well aspected. But you evolved and grown more confident with age??

I was actually advocating on the side of the shy person in my post, i don't understand how you cannot see that.

As far as I can see - you are only advocating on the side of those shy people who don’t want their shyness to be attractive to the opposite sex... and who take their shyness very seriously to the point of calling it a debilitating disease.

So probably a small percentage.

Betty Boop,

Maybe you should start reading my post properly, i did not call it a disease, and people that think it is cute to be shy, or act to be shy like yourself, don't know anything about the reality of being shy, I cannot think of genuine shy people that would 'Play Cute' they are not shy in my eyes, but manipulating and calculating. Shyness is socially very debilitating, it stops people from going out there and feeling relaxed and doing normal things, it goes with a lot of physical responses, which can include blushing, sweating, shaking etc. I fail to see how people can see this as CUTE?????

Yes, I have Sun Square Saturn and I feel that very strongly.

I agree. Might not be a disease or disability but can feel like one to the sufferer. It can also feel rather patronising to be called cute by someone who doesn't know you. And there is a lot of difference between being "shy" and being "COY".
