Me, too. A former member of LL, posted a picture of a skeleton sitting next to a pile of books, when I posted one of my own pics from early February, at the bookstore.

I remembered yesterday, that my Moon/Venus in my draconic chart, is around 29*Virgo.

I know a young Taurus woman who was an English Lit major in college. She has Moon and Saturn conjunct in the 2nd house, in Virgo. She loves to read and write.

I'm like that too. Aqua Sun & Mercury in 9th, as well as Gem Rising.

I ALSO get that way in clothing stores and Sephora.

Oh! I do the same thing with shampoos, conditioners, body washes, lotions... I rarely get to browse, and then when I do, I want to bring it all home with me. I just sighed thinking about it.

another Gem mooner (H9) here and nothing gives me greater peace than reading. (next to that would be all the things my Taurus/Cap asc/venus/mars like!)

i read everything i can get my hands on. even if it's something not too interesting it sometimes surprises people 'how did you know that?' lol. so many subjects fascinate me. the thirst for knowledge is simiply insatiable.

You know what. My father is exactly like this. He has an almost unaspected Mercury. I bet an unaspected Mercury would be classic for this. Does Reese have one?

That's how we roll.

You don't want to hear my story about the last time I was in a used bookstore. Essentially the owner was a hoarder...though he would never admit it. I wished I asked him his sun sign, we were like two peas in a pod. I climbed dangerously rickety shelves to get to areas i knew housed rare books that no one dared to climb to and reach before.

Some of you astrologers might be jealous of my collection of antique astro books.

Wish i still lived in the area because i could honestly go back everyday and spend a few hours digging and find new things.

He had a TON of vintage Playboys too. We thumbed through them and I picked up a few because I thought it might be good to have a few for future referece in artistic works. Plus I love Vargas work and now have some good old centerfolds now that I could always frame up.

You book lovers would be in heaven at his place, too bad I dont think he was doing so well....or any used bookstores like him now.

We passed a used bookstore in Massillon (?) the other day. We were on the way home from food shopping, though, so we couldn't stop.

According to my Pullen report, Gemini is quite emphasized in my chart, having it on my MC and Mercury accidentally dignified in the 3rd.

Books were my only drug/escape until I got unlimited internet access. Whoa, instant info at my fingertips.

I still go to books for in-depth info. They're "bound" (haha pun wasn't intended) to be more reliable because if you publish BS and make people pay for it, they're gonna make somewhat of a fuss over it. Whereas info on the web is free unless otherwise specified.

I don't like books as physical objects though, only the content. LOVE Kindle. Now I can tote my library around with me on my phone....never a dull moment. Stuck waiting somewhere? Awesomeness, as long as I got a backup battery handy. The only thing I don't like about e-books is that I can't resell. But at least I won't have additional clutter, and knowledge is priceless.

I attended a social gathering yesterday evening, during which I conversed with various acquaintances about the feeling one gets when walking into a bookstore.

Personally, I am simultaneously captivated and fearful of what my credit card statement will reflect afterward. As a child, my "excitement" for literature extended so far as to, on occasion, induce inordinate bowel activity! It truly is such a rush for me. I love the vast array of subject matter and crisp, unscathed pages!

All but a select few of said acquaintances resonated with this euphoria I speak of, and it turns out these select few each have Gemini prominent in their natal charts! One of them remarked, "There's just so much knowledge stored in one place!" (Mercury in Gemini)

I have the Moon in Gemini in the 9th House. I've also got a packed 2nd and 3rd House. 2nd House would pertain to the sensual gratification I derive from books, while the 3rd House would pertain to my love of knowledge and literature. I literally love to smell the pages of books and hold them in my hand -- these Kindle and nook devices are not for me. Purchasing actual books for my own home library is such a joy. Must be my Mercury in the 2nd House talking there.

Which lends the question: do you experience this type of overwhelmingly-ecstatic-climactic sentiment when entering a bookstore? What placements or aspects do you attribute this to?

I used to feel like this when walking into a bookstore when I was younger.

Sun Aries 9H
Moon Aries 8H
Merc Aries 8H
Venus Pisces 8H
Mars Pisces 8H

Pluto Scorpio 4H

My Moon conjunct Mercury is the tightest aspect in my chart and that, alongside my 9H Sun, makes me value knowledge a lot. 8H is also a place of extreme emotions and pleasures. Also, the Venus trine Pluto, my next tightest aspect, makes me use this knowledge as a weapon.

Nice! Looks like we've got similar energies at play in our charts.

Me:
Moon in 9th House
Moon opposite Mercury
Venus conjunct Pluto

Hi Heartless!!!

I've been searching for someone like you far and wide! Haha! Honestly, though, I, too, have Moon in Gemini in the 9th. It makes for quite the combo, as Gemini is the sign of quick info and superficial interests while the 9th house is in-depth study and intellectual pursuits. How do you think this plays out for you? Also, how are you emotionally?

So many questions!!! Thank you

^^jack of all trades, master of none. emotionally i'm master controller! i'm afraid my Moon square Pluto (Saturn in H8 and Pluto in H12) is kind of overpowering and makes me heartless. what nobody sees is my pain which i'm a master at hiding it. (yep, master again)

Do you have any connections to foreigners? How do you get along with foreigners? Are your family members foreign and/or religious?

Yeah, I love to hang out in book stores. Sometimes when I had days off work I’d spend almost the entire day just hanging out in book stores reading (especially on topics like astrology). Love libraries too. And I’m totally addicted to the internet…. Not sure it’s healthy, but I can’t seem to help myself.

I’ve got Asc, Mercury, Venus and Neptune all in Sagittarius. Mercury in Sag is conjunct my Asc from the 12th and my Sun in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in Virgo….Virgo is also the sign on my Mc.

The 3rd house rules the type of information we attracted to, and the topics we like to ‘know the facts’ about, and it rules how we take in information… the 9th house is more about our opinions, and what we believe… the 9th house rules the conclusions we come to based on the 3rd house knowledge we receive, and how we see patterns in the world based on a collection of data (3rd house stuff) that we have… the 9th is also about the attitude with which we express our beliefs and conclusions…

I think it’s interesting to take note of the sign and rulers of the 3rd house more mental proclivities and interests…. My 3rd house cusp is Aquarius ruled by Uranus in the 11th in Scorpio, and co-ruled by Saturn in Virgo in the 9th (conjunct the Mc)….

Uranus/Aquarius is said to rule astrology, which is probably why astrology is such an obsession of mine…. And I love to learn about anything that is unusual, fascinating or bizarre. I’m also attracted by topics like metaphysics, psychic phenomena, the paranormal, psychology, and interpersonal dynamics, which is probably related to the my 3rd house ruler in Scorpio….and the fact that Mercury is in the 12th house. I also have a love of nutrition and health, especially alternative health…. Which makes sense with Saturn in Virgo co-ruling my Aquarius 3rd house cusp…. And of course topics like foreign cultures, and distant lands, as well as morel issues are interesting to me as well… but then I have a stellium in Sagittarius, and again Saturn is in the 9th house…

Books on the above topics are the kind I zero in on.

Another technique I use to ascertain the types of mental interest a person might have is to look at the house related to the 3rd house symbolically… for example my 3rd house is Aquarius… so I look at my natal 11th house to further examine my mental interests… (if I had Virgo on the 3rd I’d look at my 6th house, or if I had Aries on my 3rd house I’d look at my 1st house, if I had Libra on my 3rd house I’d look at my 7th house…you get the picture)…

Anyway, my 11th house cusp is in Libra with Pluto in Libra, and Uranus in Scorpio falling into the 11th (Uranus is also conjunct the 12th house cusp), and Venus the ruler of the 11th in Sag in my 1st. The Libra 11th house cusp suits me in the sense of being an extension of my mind… I do tend to have a strong interest in relationship issues, and synastry is my absolute favorite topic in astrology… Pluto here reinforces my interest in the mysterious, and Venus in the 1st reinforces my interest in how astrology influences temperament and ‘personality’…

In the past I have read several books based on the difference between the sexes that scientists are noticing now based on brain differences. They were very illuminating. Men and women really are almost like two different species in some ways…. I know that a few decades ago it was popular to think that both sexes were all the same, and that only the physical and the socialization was different…. But the truth is they really are different in how they process information…. This particular interest of mine feels very Libran to me as understanding the opposite sex really helps marriages work well…
