I guess I wonder why, even w/ soft aspects, they're unable to let go of the desire to have power over others?

You've made an excellent point here about people doing what they feel they can get away with.

This helps me understand the diffce between the hard and soft energies.

But you're right. Bottom line is the moral fiber without which, no amount of soft aspects will help, imo.
