I use to like cats and dogs the same.

But now I am definitely more of a cat person. I have a cat of my own. He is 3 years old(in human years), and looks like he could be a Norwegian forest cat.
He looks pretty close to this

But my Bobby has bright green eyes. So yes my cat is all fluffy like that and stuff. So he one of those 'pretty boy' cats. The vet even tells him. "Your too pretty to be a boy!" haha

My sister has a cat named Johnny. And I am seriously one of his favorite humans!(he doesn't come out for many people) I love playing with Johnny. My sister got him when she was like 19, and her last year living at home. I seem to be possibly his fave. Maybe cause I was home with him most at the beginning? My sister also has two other cats (shes a gem rising, libra sun, virgo moon)
So I cat sit her 3 cats when she goes on a vacation. They like to have me do it, cause one I'm her good sister and not some weirdo. And two...her cats are happiest when I do it. When other people have had to do it in the past her cats kind of give her the cold shoulder for a while. haha

Cats have been my favorite animal pretty much my whole my whole life. I think they make the best pets.
I my other current favorite animals are chipmunks and the fox.

Bobby is my fist pet cat that is all mine. Other than that the only other pets that have been mine are goldfish, and hermit crabs.

Other animals that I like a lot in the past where monkeys frogs and flamingos. lol

I don't really see the point of having pets, but I didn't grow up with pets either. Maybe if you're living alone and want company. I want to be able to travel whenever I want without worrying about an animal being taken care of while I'm gone. Also, they usually die before you do, so you know you're in for sadness - to be a bit cynical... I did have a guinea pig when I was a kid and I loved him sooo much so when he died I was totally crushed (I can still tear up when I think about it!). Actually that's probably the reason, I remember the sadness and the GUILT of thinking I should have taken better care of him. That sort of thing kills me! To this day I feel guilty about that guinea pig, he should have lived a little bit longer. I think maybe I gave him too much food, he was kind of fat!

I do think animals are extremely funny and interesting though (monkeys! penguins! lamas! haha!), I love watching animals on tv, programs about nature and so on. And I looooove lolcats, if that's relevant

I love "furry" animals. Not rodents.

I have never met a dog I didn't like! In fact, my friends call me the dog whisperer b/c of my ease with dogs. My dog right now is my little angel - completely messed up (almost aggressive) due to an abusive past but she has come so far & is like a new dog now, I'm so proud of her.

I am allergic to cats but they seem to love me & are always trying to get me to pet them!

The dying thing IS difficult to deal with.

But for me, it's kind of like the old saying... "It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all." (I disagree with that in general, but completely agree when it comes to pets). You get them, make their life as happy as possible, and they return a unique unquestioning love that is hard to get from anything else.

Plus it's kind of cool to be able to communicate with another species on a one to one level.

So sweet about your guinea pig!

When I had a dog growing up, sometimes I couldn't sleep at night, because I knew he would die someday. I grieved his "imminent" death for about seven years before it happened.

I would love to have a dog, but my husband doesn't want pets for the same reason you described: he just gets paralyzed with grief when they die.

We used to have cats, they have all gone to the great Somewhere, and I told him, "If you grieve for me even one FIFTH as much as you did for them, when I die, I will be so honored."

I had an aquarium when I grew up, does that count? I like aquariums - they're relaxing and beautiful to look at. And I can handle it when they die! Plus, I can probably communicate with them since I'm Pisces I used to "pet" them sometimes, like putting my hand down in the fish tank and let them swim into my palm and I'd cup my hand and raise it close to the surface so the fish would be stuck in a little pond in my hand. Then MAYBE I would carefully pet the fish over the back. Uhm. Wow, actually maybe I shouldn't have pets!! :s

I loooove cats. I think dogs are annoying unless they're really cute (like Pomeranians). I really don't like most dogs.

That's more common than you'd think. When I was a kid, my mom trained our pet goldfish to eat out of her hand. I swore, it LIKED to be pet. XD

I like all animals unless they're smelly or hurt me or are hard to take care of.
From past experience, dogs were kind to me, so I'm into dogs.
Cats were mean, so you get where I'm coming from.. but im open to all pets. =)

Without a doubt a cat person, I think most people don't understand cats and there vary misunderstood animals.

What really sets my cat apart is I believe are mercury's are conjunct.

I mean my little Georgina knows how to communicate with me, she listens and she knows how to tell me what she wants.

Sometimes I don't even have to tell her and she'll do whats on my mind.

If I can't find her I just yell her name and she always meows back.
