I have similar experiences, I seem to relate better to compatible sun signs and I think rising sign, at least for me, is more important. When I go for men whose sun sign is my moon sign it's always a disaster. I think it's because the ruler of my ascendant is the sun so it emphasizes sun sign energy in my chart and sun sign synastry. My boyfriend's ascendant is my sun sign and it's the first and only lasting relationship I've ever had. If I had a very lunar chart I think it would make it more important, but my chart is heavy on the sun.

Most of the other examples in Hollywood are Leo, Aries and Scorpio (that last one is a bit of a surprise, but the 3 examples I looked at - Gerard Butlern Penn Badgley and David Guetta - were heavy on the Scorpio influence, so it's not because of Sag in their charts). In addition, perhaps the most famous interracial dater of all time, Richard Loving aka The Man Who Made It Legal, was a Scorpio sun (his wife was a Cancer).

I have found that having compatible ascendent signs even when not completely in orb with each other are very beneficial to relationships, because you see the world in similar ways. Also in synastry it seems like all the right houses overlap. In your case with 1st house and 5th house, both about attraction and fun. Pretty much ensures that you both will be attracted to each other. Not to mention that NN conjunction to Asc is very close.

Iman and David Bowie, and Halle Berry never dated interracially until her last partner Gabriel Aubrey and her current partner Olivier Martinez. Both are Capricorns. Connie Chung is a Leo married to Maury Povich (Capricorn) and that's an IR couple. While it wasn't really interracial, it could certainly be considered intercultural, and that was sort of out-of-character for her - Jackie Kennedy was with Ari Onassis until he died. He was a Capricorn as well. Basically all the famous Leo women I researched who dated IR or interculturally did so with Cappy men, with the exception of Jaime Pressly. Odd, very odd.

It seems even Hollywood is on board with it or something; when they cast a male lead opposite Leo Whitney Houston for The Bodyguard, he happened to be Kevin Costner - a Capricorn.
