Topic: Could Venus in Capricorn make someone shy?

Or socially awkward? I guess it depends on aspects as well, but I've noticed that Aquarius/Capricorn combos do tend to not see themselves as everyone else does and they have a hard time looking people in the eye when getting to know them. Not in a shady, shifty way but more like they're very humble people and might doubt themselves.IP: Logged |

yes, I am completely like that, people think Im shady, or a ***** but I just get nervous - I think therye looking at my flaws or something and also because Im picking up everyones energy plus Im super shy  IP: Logged |

I know a few Venus in Capricorn people.One is my mother. She is NOT shy. (Sag sun). Other Venus in Cap people that I know are, honestly, really icicle-ish. That's the vibe that I get, anyway. However, remember that I have a Scorpio Venus and a Cancer moon, plus some strong Libra, so socializing is really important to me, and I'm sensitive. They don't seem shy, but they do seem standoffish. Like they have to force themselves to socialize.

heeey thats how i feel! like i have to try really hard to socialise with people. It mostly drains me so i try to stay away from social settings. But that doesn't mean i dont want to. If only it weren't so tiring. I make it tiring though by worrying too much about what others might think and im busy trying to word and re-word my sentences correctly before i say them so its just right.I have cap venus conj sun.
but i know other cap venus people and they are fine socialize-rs. They have some air placements but i have a libra asc which should count for something. IP: Logged |

my mom is a Sag sun and Mercury, with Cap Venus and ASCShe's really loud, feisty, mouthy, and doesn't care what people think. No filter. But, with her, at least you know what you're getting. With her, what you see is what you get. I like that about her. Also, @ the Cap Venus people here--where is your Mercury? My thought was that this would influence how you communicate, which is a part of socializing, and my guess was that Cap Venus people with Scorpio, Pisces, or Cap Mercury may be much more reserved than the air and fire ones. But, of course, other planets would come into play too. IP: Logged |

I'm not shy I'm observant aqua sun/cap venus. I don't trust people or their intentions easily and it takes a lot for me to warm up to some people or some I never warm up to because I'm a bit intuitive and can smell a rat from a mile away. I sometimes hate this about me because it makes me come off standoffish or shy. And it doesn't help in the friends department. I have very little friends. My aries sister loves that about me because I'm usually able to spot the fake friends she meet because she is a but too trusting and I just sit back and observe then shake my head yes or no. She'll go, "Really? Him? No." Then a few weeks later she'll say, "I should have listened to you." Lol IP: Logged |

What you wrote about the aqua/cap combo definitely applies to me, especially when getting to know someone (I mean ,when it comes to group work, I'm not shy at all) except I'm a cap sun, aqua venus. IP: Logged |

You're exactly like my mom! She does the same thing with me! xD I usually trust her because of her pisces moon but then again she has a HUGE amount of fire in her chart so...

Definitely a socially awkward person, I always say that about myself.
I can get very shy and like aquacap said I feel like they are looking at my flaws. Its also conjunct Saturn, so it makes me pretty insecure. Even for a Saggy ASC.
Plus having Uranus and Neptune in first house I know I come off odd and with my Merc in Aqua I tend to communicate and word things strangely (well to others :P)Unless its with someone I'm close to or know well. I'm not shy around my friends/family.IP: Logged |

Venus in Capricorn by itself is not enough to 'make someone shy.' The most ragingly extroverted person I've ever known was born with Venus in Capricorn. I can say that it added some caution in choosing who she gave affection to, and some loyalty. It is the rising sign and conditions affecting the Asc and 1st house that have to do with whether you are shy or outgoing. I assume you mean 'shy' to equate to introversion. But then again, self-doubt should be considered completely synonymous with extroversion. Extroverts doubt themselves too, they just tend to seek affirmation from people around them, whereas the introvert seems to need to grow it from within themselves. One of the repeated tendencies I've seen in this forum is that of relying too heavily upon signs to explain vast areas of human personality or behavioral tendencies. Planets are the action. Aspects are the energy setup dynamics. Signs are general modes of expression through which these things take place. Granted about the date.... so I wrote him giving him my number and asking him if it went well (I took it like a champ, by the way. Earlier when he mentioned it at work and my little heart sank a little, I was like "Oh I wanna see what she looks like" and complimented her and asked questions about it) and he wrote me back 5 hours later, but for whatever reason felt the need to tell me he was "just getting in." from it. I'm "dating" a Venus Cappy guy he is great! He is not shy at all. He's a talker. He is good around new people too. He can be pretty wild at times too. Though he did tell me when he was younger he didn't really talk in school (I'm guessing like Elementary school.) And it caused teachers concern. He doesn't like to be around/include everybody though. I've seen him get this way before. He doesn't sugar coat or white lie, nor go out of his way to be flat out insulting, and say low blows. He just tells the person no really.
I'm in such awe when he does this. lol
(he has 4 planets in Cap and 4 in Scorp!) btw Trya Banks and Janis Dickinson have Venus Cap. They are more of the "I don't take crap types" and then there are the more "shy" ones like the singing artist Kerli IP: Logged |
